2019 - February Goals

First off, I wanted to say thank you again for all the kind words on my post about our baby. It's still hard to talk about but I don't want to forget or act like she didn't happen, so thank you.

I'm going to try this monthly goals thing again.

Chelsea is so impressed at having a phone shoved in her face

Obviously our plans/goals for this year changed drastically when we realised we wouldn't be bringing our baby home in June, so I'm thinking of all the things we can do now that we couldn't if she arrived. Needless to say I'd give up all the house projects or paying this or that off for the alternative, but onwards and upwards. I'm not trying to be callous, just need things to focus on. I made a deal with myself that I'd let January go by with no structure or rules, but I'd have to buckle up in February. I didn't go to the gym, I didn't pay attention to what I was eating as long as I was, I spent too much money trying to comfort myself. All these things are fine, I did what I wanted to do and it helped me. But, I can't let my spending get out of control again, so time to buckle up.

In February, I'd like to:
  • Spend no extra money - bills and groceries etc are all obviously okay, also it's my birthday and I have two things that will cost money, plus a hair appointment, but other than that, no books, no new skincare products, no makeup, no solo eating out, no clothes, no booking things for the future. I can't cancel my book of the month yet, so I'll be charged at the end of the month, but I think that's it.
  • Eat - I'm still doing my little vegetarian challenge, but I am still having to force/remind myself to eat. I was sick last week and couldn't keep anything down, but I went longer than my sickness dictated because I was waiting to feel hungry, which didn't happen. There is a part of me - 15 year old Kristen - who wants to stop eating to lose weight, but thankfully almost 32 year old Kristen isn't an idiot. It's easier when I am around people, for some reason, but alone, I will eat a bite and stop.
  • Read a BOTM book - I have too many of these just sitting around. I mean, I have a lot of books sitting around, but I get these ones before they are published sometimes and then they sit there for a year. The oldest is from almost 2 years ago. Oops.
  • Deep clean the house - it's been a bit too long for my liking, understandably so, but still.
  • Go to the gym once during each work week - let's start small. Nothing crazy, just getting there.
  • Stick to budget - this goes hand in hand with not spending extra money, but sometimes when I try not to shop I spend more at the grocery or whatever. So I need to make sure I behave in all financial areas.
I think that's all I want to tackle in February. They are relatively easy goals, I have other things I want to focus on this year but not ready for them yet.

Also, a reminder to anyone who wants to link up - this Thursday the 7th is the next What's New With You link up if you want to join me!

These are my BOTM books I haven't read (probably shouldn't read the newest first but it sounds so interesting):

If you've read and recommend any of them, let me know!
