Books Lately

Show Us Your Books day with Steph & Jana! I've not been reading as many 'normal' books lately so don't have a whole lot to share today.

The Willpower Instinct - Kelly McGonigal
self control development
I've owned this one for a couple of years, so when we decided to do a non-fiction/self helpy kind of book for book club, this was my suggestion. I think only 2 people finished it! It was very dry and boring at times. There was a scientific explanation/experiment and anecdotal story for almost every single thing and it got a bit boring at times for sure. There were snippets of good information and lots of 'oh, so that's why I do that', or some good ideas I thought about implementing, but overall I'm not sure there was a whole lot of brand new information or things that would work for me specifically. I don't regret reading it, if it sounds like your jam, I recommend.
An Anonymous Girl - Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen
psychological thriller - comes out january 2019
I've still not read The Wife Between Us, even though I own it. I'd only heard good things though, so I had high expectations for this one. It took until about 40% for me to get really into it, and it's not exactly.. thrilling/scary but it is creepy AF and had me feeling all unsettled. Something about it fell flat for me though, but that might be me and not the book.
Received from Netgalley.
Never Seduce A Scot (loved.it.) // Mister Romance (recommendation from Heather who also very sweetly sent me the second one and I can't wait to read it) // My Favorite Half-Night Stand (enjoyable but I liked Josh & Hazel better) // Melt For You (much love, very recommend).

Kingdom of Ash because this is the book that never ends, yes it goes on and on my friends, some people started reading it not knowing what it was, and they'll continue reading it forever just because this book is one thousand pages (I'm enjoying it, it's just hard to get stuck into a book sometimes when you know it's going to take a year to read). Also, Becoming.

Life According to Steph

TL;DR - I recommend An Anonymous Girl.

Read anything decent lately?
