December Recap - What's New With You Link Up

Time for another What's New With You link up with Gretch & I! No real rules, all we ask is that you link back to us somewhere in your post - easy peasy. I'll be doing another monthly recap, since that's my jam.

What's New With You

To be perfectly honest, I suffered from the winter blahs in December and really just felt.. well, blah. It was a weird month.

It started off pretty fabulously with officially selling our house.

 Got my hair done..

Went on a fun date-day to Panera & the movies to see Rogue One.

Had several hot chocolates with more and more whipped cream each time.

Started officially planning NZ & Oz. We booked our flights on the 30th!

Christmas was good - I finally convinced my mum to video call and got to speak with her and my nana. My mum kept holding the phone so all I could see was the ceiling fan. I took some screenshots but they'd be super cranky with me if they found out I put them on the internet.

We ended the year with friends, stayed out way later than I have in a long, long, long time.

A few workout snaps... one of those is after KC ran for the first time in 6 years. Not a lot, for like 10 seconds 5 or 6 times around the neighbourhood, but it was a big deal. Hopefully he'll be able to start running properly soon, but he's taking it easy because of his ankle injury (what made him stop back then).

aaaand some cat snaps.

So, what's new with you?

  3. OMFG YOU HAVE A MIKE MUG?!!!!! ME TOO!!!!! I mean, I know they are super common at Disney, but no one else ever shows me their Disney mug. For YYYYEEEEAAARRRSSSS I searched for the Sully mug and finally found it at DL this year.. and DW, but then it was too late. (ok, now I'm going to read the rest of the post). Also knowing how deep that cup is, that's a LOT of whipped cream, lol.

    YAY for plane tickets!!

  13. Booking vacation flights fills me with extreme Euphoria. YAY. When do you go?

I am blah the week between Christmas into the first few days of the new year. Honestly? I think I'm mostly exhausted.

  14. I'm in love with your big plaid scarf, and how you tied it, or wore it, & pretty much every sweater you have on in this post. Particularly that chunky grey one that just looks so cozy. Oh, and your Monsters Inc mug. Okay, I'm done fawning over your things...

YOU BOOKED FLIGHTS!? That's so exciting! What are your date or general time frame!? I'm still so obsessed with NZ. I can't wait to see where you all head & what you do!

  15. Alllll the cat snaps :) Haha! Good for KC for starting to run again! It's nice he has you to jog with!

December was a whirlwind for me. I thought I'd get a million things done but really I just got Christmas stuff done. Yours looked pretty good, even if you were feeling a little blah. Just have another cup of hot chocolate! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  16. Your hair looks amazing, but then again you always look amazing!! I don't see a point in drinking hot chocolate unless the whipped cream is two stories high, and awesome news about booking your trip!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Curly Wurly's for the win! Sounds like you had a wonderful December!

  18. I hate the winter blahs! I currently have them plus some sort of new frenzy due to moving. It's an odd combo I must say. Yay for flight bookings! And for KC getting back to running! I hope his ankle holds out.

What did you make of Rogue One?? And did you have good cinema snacks? (Important question.) Also I'm jealous of how cheap your cinema tickets are - ours are almost £10 per adult which is like USD 15ish? Not cool.

    1. For IMAX or 3D in the nice theaters, they can be almost $20.
We, also, went to a matinee of Rogue One (and on "Discount Tuesday") and they were $6 each.

  19. Love your new bag you got for Christmas.
Winter makes me feel blah every time too.
    YIPPEE for planning another trip!

  20. Australia and NZ is my dream trip. I believe I've told you this. And I know for you it's actually going home but still. Jealous.

My husband went to see Rogue One while I took Erica to see Sing. He absolutely loved it.

  21. I just got so sad looking at the heap of whipped cream because we ran out and have neglected to purchase some more, haha. Yay for selling your house (officially) and getting to video chat with your mum & grandma for Christmas, and for buying your tickets for your trip! I'm sure you've mentioned it, but when are you guys going? Love the bag you got for Christmas! Hoping KC's ankle continues to not give him any problems!

  22. I love that all of your cats are fluffy. Every time I see a picture I want to reach through the screen and pet them. Hahaha. Also, I want that hot cocoa with whipped cream. Or maybe even just the whipped cream.

    ReplyDelete
  23. YUM that hot chocolate looks delicious. Sorry to hear it was a bit of a blah month but glad you had a good Christmas and got to chat with your mom. Our new years ended up being insanely late too - we had friends over until 2:30 in the morning and had a 6 am 5 year-old alarm. BOO. haha. So happy you booked your trip - you must be overjoyed!!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Congrats on selling the house (again) and booking your trip! I also get the winter blahs, though mine start closer to Christmas (dysfunctional family issues) and ends when it's warmer, around March. Love the new bag! What did you think of Rogue One? Also, today is National Whip Cream Day, so top that hot chocolate off right!

  31. Selling your house, especially when it wasn't on the market very long (was it?), is a great way to kick off the month!

The hot chocolate looks fabulous! I've been craving some for a while now. Just haven't given myself permission to indulge in some yet. Maybe this weekend... Super fun mug, btw!

  35. So excited about your house selling and your Australia/NZ tickets! Are y'all looking for a new house right now or waiting for a bit? Love your hair! I feel like I need to visit you in Louisville and go to your hair lady! Haha. My brother in law is going through dental school match, and one of his (four) options is Lexington, Kentucky. That's pretty close, right?!

  47. I'm sorry you felt a bit blah in December! It happens, but it DOES seem like you had some nice, bright spots so I'm really excited to see that. It's a time of joy and family and friends, so it's nice to hear that's how it worked for you (for the most part). Aw, all the cat photos are great! I love taking random pics of my dog! haha

  48. We all get that blah feeling at times but sounds like some fun stuff happened in December especially selling your home. Your hair looks fab and date day is always fun. Funny enough we also used FaceTime on Christmas day to open gifts with my Mom and she was trying to show us our gifts but all we're seeing is the floor, her chin, the room spinning and other things you can hardly make out...it was quite humorous.

    ReplyDelete
  49. That Panera looks delicious... yum. Yay Star Wars. We went to see it last week. I hope KC is able to get his run on again. I love cat snaps... please post alll the cat snaps lol.
