Watching birds fly.
Waking up without an alarm.
Lots of blankets.
Hugs.
The opening music to Pride & Prejudice.
A brand new notebook.
Fluffy kitties.
The sun.
Hanging up from a long phone call with my mum or Nana.
Ticking things off the to-do list.
The ability to say 'screw the to-do list, lets do nothing today'.
A clean house.
When my cats actively get along or love on each other.
Dancing like a lunatic, with or without music.
The first step into the ocean.
Looking back and realising how much I have grown or changed.
Looking back and realising some things will never change, and being totally okay with it.
Our wedding song.
Hot cuppa and a good book.
What makes you feel peaceful? Linking up with Alyssa for her back to blogging non challenge.
So much of these are on my list too. Especially the "screw the to-do list!" I've had to work on that one, but I like the relationship I'm building with it ;)
ReplyDeleteYes to all of this stuff!!! I have my peace post up today too. Great minds thing alike :)
ReplyDeleteHanging out with Dan and Selma on the couch with a book and nothing to do :)
ReplyDeleteyou had me at waking up without an alarm and p&p. seriously. smiling just reading this list!

Reading this list makes me feel peaceful! :) One of mine is waking up first in the house and enjoying coffee and quiet time on the computer. I do best when I can start my day that way!
ReplyDeleteAll great things - and reading it all made me feel peaceful <3
ReplyDeleteAll really great things! Most of what you listed also makes me feel peaceful as well.
ReplyDeleteWaking up without an alarm = peaceful. But going to sleep without an alarm? Stresses me out!
ReplyDeleteWatching birds flying by... I completely agree. the school I work in is out in the country. A few weeks back, as I left the building and made my way out to my car, I noticed two birds with gigantic wingspans soaring high above in the currents. I instantly froze and just gazed upwards at them, watching them gracefully glide above the earth. It was a very calming and peaceful experience.
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way with the beginning music of Beauty & the Beast... can spot it a mile away.
ReplyDeleteThat picture - that looks like the definition of "cozy"
My front porch rocking chair with a book & warm drink is peace to me :)
I love that first step into the ocean and checking things off my to-do list! I love the smell of book stores and big churches and clear starry nights and full moons, too!
ReplyDeleteOh I love this!! I love to sit on the beach and look at the ocean right before the sun goes down. I think it is so peaceful and tranquil.
ReplyDelete100% hot cuppa and a book. on monday after work, i had the house to myself and sat my ass down with a hot cuppa and my Roots book and enjoyed 2 glorious hours of reading!
ReplyDeleteYes to so many of these! I bought my new planner the other day & just got a basic 90 cent notebook as well & I was over the moon.
ReplyDeletethe music to pride and prejudice is lovely. i'm also a fan of michael convertino's score for the film bed of roses. i find myself humming his melodies often.
ReplyDeleteClean house is right up there but also the ability to say screw it... not cleaning and flop on the couch with Netflix or a book!
ReplyDeleteLove your list, Kristen. For me, spooning with Max, cooking for friends and family (this is also stressful and yet makes me really happy), walking on the beach, looking at the stars, reading (of course), daydreaming and a hot stone massage.
ReplyDeleteLove your list but stuck on the first one. Watching birds in flight is so peaceful. Good one!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving reading everyone's lists! Just reading them is peaceful!
ReplyDeleteSaying screw it to my to do list and doing nothing all day makes me peaceful too! It's hard sometimes to ignore that to do list but I like being able to do nothing with my husband sometimes or just go for walks and not stress out about what we have to do
ReplyDeleteRelaxing with a good book is always super peaceful, and oh my goodness the opening music to Pride & Prejudice! I think that I could listen to that album on repeat and be in pure bliss!
ReplyDeleteThe composer for PNP did a phenomenal job that is for certain. Such an excellent list and one you should refer to on days when one is feeling slightly less than peaceful right? Haha
ReplyDeleteSuch a great list! I love reading when it's raining outside. So peaceful to me. :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a fantastic list! There really is no other feeling like stepping into the ocean - it's one of my favorite things, and it totally puts me at peace, too.
ReplyDeleteWaking up without an alarm is one of the best feelings ever. And I just bought a new notebook to start in November and I'm having SO MUCH TROUBLE not writing in it yet and finishing out the one I have. The struggle.
ReplyDeleteLet's do nothing today--ah, I can only imagine, but it sounds so lovely! ;)
Thanks for joining the challenge!
Ah, so many good things here!
ReplyDeleteJust reading this is relaxing me! So many great things on your list!
ReplyDeleteWaking up without an alarm! Yes.
ReplyDeleteGreat list! Now I want to watch P&P tonight ;)
ReplyDeleteAll the music from Pride and Prejudice!! In fact, I think I'll go put on the soundtrack right now and chill out a little bit :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome list! I start smiling just thinking about the opening music to Pride & Prejudice :)
ReplyDeleteI love a cup of tea and a book, with doggies lying near me.
ReplyDeleteI love the "screw the to-do list" one! Definitely one of my favorite things to do on weekends is sleeping in and doing nothing.
ReplyDeleteA warm cup of tea/coffee, good reading material and fur-babies just exudes relaxation...and no alarm clock = perfect weekend to me!

I love your list-- doing nothing over your to-do list is such a good feeling sometimes.
ReplyDeleteOMG yes to the wedding song thing! I don't listen to it nearly often enough, but whenever I do I'm totally filled with joy and peace!
ReplyDeleteYes! These are good ones. Definitely being near the water for me. Even just seeing it is so great! The view from my 7th floor office over campus in the mornings is pretty calming before I get ready to start working. Weekends with nothing (or almost nothing) planned. :) XO - Alexandra
ReplyDeleteSimply Alexandra: My Favorite Things
Do you mean the piano music from the Keira Knightley P&P? I love that. One of my life goals is to become good enough at playing the piano to get that sheet music.
ReplyDeleteA cup of tea and a good book is #1 on my list. If I get a half hour of tea/book on the weekend when the kids are magically both napping at the same time my day is SO much better.
Hmm great list!! I agree with a lot of these. A good book...a clean kitchen...a home cooked meal on the table...clean sheets on the bed...also, LOVE your mug :)
ReplyDeleteOhh, this list makes me feel peaceful . . . it all sounds divine! Substitute cats for dogs and we get along like peas and carrots!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh, blankets and reading and I too love watching birds fly! Ask my tattoo on my shoulder. :) Sometimes saying screw it to the to-do list can really bring some peace!
ReplyDeleteI love this! I agree with all of them, and I absolutely LOVE nothing days. I need to plan more in. Which is a bit sad, really. Things that also make me feel peaceful include coming to the end of a long swim, and being warm. Those two don't normally go together unfortunately!
ReplyDeleteThis list totally makes me want to breathe a big ol' sigh of relief as I feel peaceful just reading it, haha!
ReplyDeleteGetting stuck into a good book with a cup of tea and a puppy by my side or falling into bed after a long day always makes me feel peaceful.
I think I've a few weeks of mania that I've having a difficult time grasping on to what things make me feel peaceful...yet, I'm nodding along with many of yours. So, you've given me a slice of peace. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post! Candles make me feel peaceful <3
ReplyDeleteBlessings,

Great list! I think being outdoors is my most peaceful place. Whether it's in the sun. Sitting on the porch/garage listening to the rain. A walk. Working in the garden. Hunting. Drinking. Anything outside. Haha. :)
ReplyDeleteLove this list! A clean house and checking things off the to-do list are a couple of mine too!
ReplyDeleteYes Hot Cuppa and a good book!
