There are lots of birthdays in August - KC's family has a few, and they have a big get together with lots of cake. My mother in law just got her backyard all redone and it's so fancy!
Then KC's birthday - he met up with his old work colleagues and friends at a Mexican place, where they give you a free shot of tequlia and then put whipped cream on your face to wish you happy birthday? I don't get it, but it's happened to him twice at different restaurants so perhaps he should just stop going to Mexican restaurants for his birthday. Let me tell you, if someone put whipped cream on my face I'd be so mad! I'm all about eating it, but I don't want it on my face.
A few days later it was my friend Megan's birthday, so we went out to celebrate that - the big 30!

A few runs outside, alone and with my bestie:
I mentioned last month that I basically take the same pictures at the gym, and that was definitely the case this month....
But then I discovered something even funnier. I wore the same top to 3 running days in a row, took the same treadmill photo, and then basically the same selfie. I am nothing if not incredibly consistent!
It's crazy, I even sweat the same.
For reals though, that top and the same one in green are my favourites. I got them from Target a year or more ago and they are not technically workout tops but I love them.
And these two random photos from the month which are kind of my favourites. My bookcase is definitely anti-pinterest (unless it's for tetris inspiration, and even then...) and KC and I reading together always makes me smile.

Your bookcase looks like mine. Except mine is 3 bookcases and I still have piles in front of the nicely lined up ones because we have no more space!

ReplyDeleteWow so many birthdays! And I had no idea you had to have a drivers license to join the library. Or is it just any state issued ID? I'm so glad you joined though and you'll save so much money! Check if your library has Overdrive because then you can get books directly on your kindle or read in a browser! Life changing for me, plus it's impossible to keep it past due and pay a fee ;)

ReplyDeleteLibrary memberships are the best! I certainly am enjoying mine since I joined one in a more populated area haha. Your MIL yard looks so good! I am jealous of that pool! ReplyDeleteEven though Mexican food is my favorite, I definitely try to avoid it on my birthdays specifically for the whole whipped cream in the face! That mixed with makeup for a girl would be no bueno! And hooray for celebrating so many birthdays, but especially with your girlfriend! Your hair looks so pretty in that picture of all of y'all going out to celebrate! I really need to work on getting a legit bookcase, even if it's not neat or anything. All of my books have been sitting in the closet since we moved!

ReplyDeleteI always mean to start taking more gym & workout selfies, and then I leave my phone in my gym locker, because I usually don't workout with it & then I'm too lazy to go back in the locker room & get it so that I can take a selfie, which is probably for the best anyways, really, so yeah, no selfies.
ReplyDeleteThe BF was being nice & washed some of my workout clothes the other day. But not before texting me to tell me they smelled bad. Umm duh. So, I'm pretty much one and done when it comes to wearing workout clothes.
You could've taken all those workout photos on the same day and we'd be none the wiser, haha! Love all the kitty photos- that slow blink one is adorable! Now I'm craving birthday cake, whipped cream, and chips & salsa! Haha!

Yay for books and cats and working out! I've been using the library too, instead of being lazy and just downloading from Amazon and it's so awesome! There's still some I want to own, but it saves so much money to not purchase all the 4 stars and under as well.
