I know these aren't the most exciting posts in the world, but if you are nosy like me, they are!
Audiobooks $17. Audible had a great sale, I had $7 in credit so I only paid $17 for 4 books. Add this to the audiobook I got at the end of Feb, plus the 'free' ones for kindle unlimited, I am set for at least a few months.

top row: the boston girl, the lake house, brooklyn, where'd you go bernadette: $5.95 each bottom row: used my February audible credit for the infinite sea, but shiver, when i found you and angelfall were all free with kindle unlimited. |
New running shoes $85. Necessity.
I realised newtons just aren't for me and I ran in my old brooks a couple of
times and it was great - but they are from 2012 and covered in glitter from a
colour run, so... I needed new ones.
2 dresses. I bought
these specifically for the cruise, but I know I can wear them other places and
such. I bought a couple dresses from sheinside that I thought would work, but
they just weren't great quality or long enough and they weren't that cheap compared to others, like the below. So yeah.
Large purchase that I didn't need to make, hence the problem. But they are so pretty.
Plus I got 20% off and you guys, they are really long and that is so hard to
find when you are semi tall. I blame Pamela for
the one on the right, as she looked amazing in it (in red).

I bought 2 t-shirts from Nordstrom Rack (I blame Gina).
I got the navy & tan in size medium. I am 5'9 and I love how long they are, and I so prefer scoop necks to v necks. Love them! Here they are on me:
Then I bought this 'dress' from SheInside that I planned on wearing as a top anyway.
I bought another dress from TJ Maxx online but it didn't work for me, so I took it back.
I also bought a bit of makeup from Ulta and Target because I wasted a weekend on youtube watching videos and this is why I don't watch youtube videos, because they make me spend money. I bought so much makeup and other stuff, but it doesn't even look like that much! This picture does not match the dent it made in my bank account. Not fair.
I ate out a couple of times, made a few donations and we also bought a ginormous (to us) TV, but that doesn't count because it was 80% KC's decision and he's not the one with a problem.I got the navy & tan in size medium. I am 5'9 and I love how long they are, and I so prefer scoop necks to v necks. Love them! Here they are on me:

So obviously my no shopping in March crashed and burned like no other no shopping month has ever crashed and burned before. So. April. Let's do this.
Haha I'm doing a "no shopping" month this month and I already want to buy all the things! Eek! So happy you bought that dress, did you get it yet? And that striped dress/top is super cute! Happy Monday! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes
ReplyDeletehahaha...yeah, doesn't really look like a 'no shopping' month. I've already shopped a little in April because I bought some face stuff at the body shop, but I'm generally trying to keep shopping down because of a summer vacation. :) Vacation is always a good reason to hold back at the store!
ReplyDeletehaha I've been there before...remember when I wasn't shopping and I bought a new car? Oops! lol Looks like you got a bunch of stuff though and those dresses are gorrrrrrrrrgeous!
ReplyDeleteall necessities! esp the makeup! ;)
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete4 audiobooks for $17?! That's not bad at all!! =)
ReplyDeleteAt least it's a new month to try the whole no shopping thing? But honestly, it's way more fun to do all the shopping :)
ReplyDeleteno shopping months are so hard! i make it like a week myself haha. but at least i feel good about eating in often. except lately. maybe that's why my food has been so off. back to making everything at home. oh and i love those maxi's - so pretty on you i bet!
ReplyDeletexoxo cheshire kat
I blame Gina for 90% of my purchases haha! And I love your intro to this post..you're hilarious!!
ReplyDeleteLOL, but those t-shirts were worth it and you know it!! Especially since the length is so great and now they are sold out. You'd have really missed out if you waited and didn't shop, so sometimes shopping is a really good thing. But...I'll try not to enable you in April. (And I also hate when I think I'm buying 1-2 cosmetic items at the drugstore and suddenly I just spend $30. Beauty bloggers/YouTubers are dangerous!)
ReplyDeleteThat blue dress is going to look gorgeous on you!! So pretty! I'm excited to hear your thoughts on Boston Girl - I've had it in my to read list for like a year!! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteI love the blue dress - so pretty!! Good job on buying all those books. I try to never pay full price for a book. Used book sales for the win!! :)
ReplyDeleteI loooove those two cruise dresses-so pretty!
ReplyDeleteWow-- you went bananas and I'm....in the exact same boat! New running shoes- a must. Makeup - a must. It's all necessary! :) And the dresses are BEAUTIFUL! I'm sure you will look stunning in both! Make today work, Rachel -CubicleCouture
ReplyDeleteI love the lace on the navy dress. I have such a hard time justifying long dresses because I feel like I have so few occasions when I need one. I got a pretty new hand me down a few years ago that I've been rocking that one or two times a year I need something.
ReplyDeleteRunning shoes on the other hand are my weakness. Last time I shopped for them I bought 3 pairs, in all different colors so I could coordinate my socks & outfits. I'm getting to where I need a new pair, or 3. Someone help me. Haha.
You know I'm totally going to back you up as running shoes on the necessity list! A must!
ReplyDeleteI definitely need a new pair of running shoes myself!

At least you're a savvy shopper! I'd say you got a great price on most of your buys! Those t-shirts are cute!
ReplyDeleteI also cannot watch Youtube videos for that exact same reason! I'm learning that I'm very easily influenced. :-/
ReplyDeleteThe dresses you got are gorgeous - you're going to look stunning in them! I hear you about YouTube beauty videos, Ryan always fears for our bank account after I go on a binge-athon with those.
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way with YouTube!! It's like a black hole of spending...I have to stay away because if I get sucked in I end up with a list of makeup and clothing items hundreds of dollars long lol Love those dresses lady - you are going to look gorgeous!! xx
ReplyDeleteI love those running shoes! And those dresses are super pretty. If I had a cruise coming up I'd for sure be buying cute dresses too.
ReplyDeleteThose maxi dresses, helloooooooo beautifuls! Totally hashtag worth spending money.
ReplyDeleteAlso I've always wondered about Shein stuff... like if it was worth saving "so much" money for that stuff.
I can never even get through a "no shopping" week, so I feel your pain! But at least you got some good deals!
ReplyDeleteI attempted no shopping in March and succeeded for myself... The first month in who-knows-how-long that I didn't buy any clothes for myself. I DID buy some for the kids though. But they were necessary - My son is growing too fast!
ReplyDeletePretty new running shoes - That is on my list to buy in April.
Yay for new running shoes! I love Brooks. Always and forever.
ReplyDeleteHow are you liking the contour stick?! I hope you love it. I do! :)
I've bought loads of clothes this month, but returned most of them so that's kind of a win, right? Next month is the big 30 so I'm either going to go totally mad or be so overwhelmed that I spend nothing. Who can say. And hurray for maxis that are long enough! Those two are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThe books caught my eye so I didn't even realize until the end of the post that this was supposed to be no-spend month. Well, it may not have been successful but dang girl, you got some really cute things. Love the dresses! I am not semi-tall but really short, so I understand the struggles to find a long dress that fits right, although my problem is the opposite of yours. LOL!
ReplyDeleteHow you feel about beauty bloggers is exactly how I feel after I talk to my friend Stacy! She always talks about these amazing products and then I want to go out and buy them all! It sounds like you found some great pieces for your cruise though! And you'll totally be able to wear them to multiple events!
ReplyDelete"Obviously he's not the one with the problem.." lol I hear ya! No joint bank account right now has gotten me in a tad bit of trouble, but overall you didn't do bad at all in March (and sales don't count, right?!).
ReplyDeleteI love the dress/top from Sheinside.
ReplyDeleteAhhh! you are going to look amazing in the backless dress!! And new running shoes are always a good idea!!
ReplyDeleteEvery spring I feel the need to refresh the makeup. Lots of money...wasted.
ReplyDeleteI do like those sneakers!
I always get lured into buying new makeup products after watching YouTube videos! The problem is I can never recreate their looks even with their same makeup!
ReplyDeleteI would use those dimes to shop too. Sigh. It looks like you got some really good books on Audible! That's awesome! I just posted the books I bought in March. Yikes. It might make you feel better! :P I love those dresses, really cute, and now I can't wait to see cruise pictures! :) I sometimes think it's too bad that I can't find my eco-makeup at the drug store, but then I feel grateful when I watch videos and see product stuff! It's so easy to buy #allthethings . It makes me feel a little better. Especially when I'm tossing money at books and concert tickets left and right... To April! XO - Alexandra
ReplyDeleteSimply Alexandra: My Favorite Things
Both of those long dresses are gorgeous and i think any kind of vacation is cause enough for a new dress or two :)
ReplyDeleteThose dresses are both so gorgeous! LOVE! I look forward to seeing them on you!
ReplyDeleteAnd in that pile of makeup, do I spy Milani Baked Blush? Because I totally just bought some for the first time just last week and I'm really liking it! I got it in Luminoso. :)
I just cracked up with your I bought a dress but plan on wearing it as a top. Don't you just love when that happens? ;-)
ReplyDeleteI have The Lake House on my Kindle and can't wait to read it! Those dresses are gorgeous and are going to look STUNNING on you!
ReplyDeleteFancy cruise! I've only been on one and they had one "fancy" night :). I spent a WHOLE LOT in March too. For me and my kids. Alan, not so much LOL.
ReplyDeleteYouTube videos are so dangerous for makeup! I always have a giant list of things I want after watching a few hauls. To be fair, your purchases were good ones so don't feel bad ;) - the RT sponge is awesome, I love that ELF Contour Palette (and most of their brushes!) and I've heard that Milani Eye Primer is just as good as the higher end primers! Those dresses you picked out are beautiful - I hope you post lots of pictures! :)
ReplyDeleteI seriously LOVE those 2 dresses. Lace is my fave and the back of that other one one is so dramatic!

All fabulous buys, especially those gorgeous dresses for the cruise. YAY for cruises! <3
ReplyDeleteGreen Fashionista
Ohhhhh I absolutely love both dresses you bought!!! They are gorgeous and you are going to look hot!!!! You know my love for audiobooks. Love love love. Does Kindle unlimited only work for the Kindle device, or does it work for the app too? You will have to share what is a must out of all that make up you bought. Help a sister out!
ReplyDeletethese look pretty minimal to me!! I like all your purchases. Love shopping for dresses before a cruise. And you can buy stuff from TJ Maxx online?!??!?! I had no idea and now my life is over.
ReplyDeleteI'm nosy, so I love these posts! Where'd You Go Bernadette is so good :)
ReplyDeleteRunning shoes are worth spending the extra bucks when needed. I usually get Brooks, too. I think my current ones are Underarmour, but I like both. I need to go shopping for a Kindle book. Just finished my book today now I have to look for something new and I have no idea what I want.
ReplyDeleteAudiobooks and running shoes...same here.
ReplyDeleteIt was a valiant effort though, right?
I admit that I love reading these posts :)
Love that your taste in books spreads over so many different genres! I'm hoping to read Brooklyn this month too! I totally agree about buying new running shoes - it's a necessity. I never feel bad about spending a little extra for a good pair!

The pile of make-up had me laughing. I pretty much don't allow myself in a make-up department anymore because of the prices here. When I go home, I stock up! It's one of the few things that I pretty much buy 95% of from the USA. I have this belief that I live in Australia, so I should contribute to the Australian economy. But, when it comes to make-up, nope.
ReplyDeleteHaha I said I needed new workout shoes like 3 months ago, and I still haven't bothered to get any. Maybe I should take a cue from you and just buy them already!
ReplyDeleteAnd, really, it seems like you were able to get great prices on most of this stuff, so you shouldn't feel too bad. March was shit for me for spending too, though ... Mine was just mostly on eating out. Haha.
Kristin! What happened?! But let's be honest, you made some pretty great purchases! Those dresses are all amazing!
ReplyDeleteThink of it this way - at least you're still saving money! :P Imagine how much more you would have paid for all that in Australia! :P
ReplyDeleteHa, it's actually really interesting to see what someone spends their money on in a month! And those dresses are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI rad Brooklyn... wasn't CRAZY impressed with it. I really wanted to love it, but it was just kinda eh for me. And yay! Brooks! I need a new pair soon. Which model did you get? i'm all about my ravennas.
ReplyDeleteSarah @ The Midwest Darling
LOVE the black lace dress - black, lace and elegant - you can't go wrong!
ReplyDeleteThe dresses are fabulous . . . you will look gorgeous! Love the t-shirts - I like them a little longer too! But you meant business with the make up . . . LOL! I suppose this is where I save since I'm so not a super girly girl . . . I get a makeover at Sephora or Ulta, buy all the stuff and follow that until I run out! Geez, I sound so lame!
ReplyDeleteHaha I always have good intentions to not shop but then major fail. It looks like you picked up some really great stuff though! I just bought a Disney annual pass, so I really need to be on a spending freeze for a while!
ReplyDeleteomg I love your little makeup haul at the end- almost as much as the book haul at the beginning. I love both of the dresses you got for the cruise- I really wanted the red one after seeing pamela wear it too- it looked so good! Sometimes I feel like Nordstrom Rack is still a little expensive, but I always end up loving the stuff I get from there & now I want those tees- they look so good on you!
ReplyDeleteI did the same thing this weekend with a youtuber called Cosmobyhaley. I bought a lot of stuff I didn't need and will never be able to make myself look like the videos but oh well! I can't wait to see all your outfits from the cruise!
ReplyDeleteUgh, I spent so much money in March. But you did really well on the book front $17 for all that is really good!!
ReplyDeleteThe current audible sale is tempting my horribly right now.
I am going to go get fitted for new running shoes to see if that's part of my foot problem, and I suspect I won't be running in Newtons anymore which completely bums me out! But I mean,,,gotta wear the right shoes, right?
ReplyDeleteLove love love the dresses for the cruise! The blue one is to die for and I can just imagine how amazing you look in it.
Ugh makeup adds up so fast! Every time I buy it I'm like damn, that's all I got for all that money?!
