March (Not-So) Madness Recap

After January and February were pretty chockablock and go-go-go, I really wanted a more low key month in March. We still did a bunch of things, but it somehow felt a little more relaxed.

Again, you don't have to do any kind of monthly recap, you can post whatever you like as long as you link back to Gretch and I!

What's New With You

Honestly, this month really was a lot more low key, or at least I took less photos because I don't really have a timeline and don't really remember what order we did things - I didn't work on this post throughout the month like I normally do. So it's a mish mash, but here it goes.

St Paddys celebrations: Louisville (and I'm sure most cities) has a big parade the week before St Patrick's day. I actually missed the parade last year because of DC so I really wanted to make sure we saw it this year. KC's cousin is in the parade, and I took a lot of photos but somehow lost them all (seriously, extremely puzzled on the how, but whatever). KC and I also got back together on the parade day in 2012 so it holds special meaning to us. Just kidding, we just really wanted to wear our matching t-shirts. We met up with my brother in law and his friends and it was a great day/night. I was in bed by 9pm, I mean can it get any better?

We also had a shindig at work on the actual St Patrick's day, but I took zero photos, except of one of my bosses doing an Irish car bomb, and guess how much I'm not putting that on the internet.

We got a new TV: every time we go to Costco, we get pulled in by the TVs at the front, which is obviously why they are at the front, for people like us. KC has been talking about a new TV for quite some time so yep.. new TV. Pretty big and exciting for us. And the cats. They loved it.

Babysitting my friends kids: pretty much self explanatory. This was eventful for me because it's been a long time since someone left me alone with their kid/s! I was nervous, but it went well. I think.

Dinner & drinks: KC suddenly decided he felt like fish and chips.... on good friday. I was like seriously? It's going to be packed everywhere. I was right. We drove around a few places and then finally ended up at Old Chicago. I didn't actually want fish & chips until we saw that they had an all you can eat plate for like $12. Um, okay! Sold. It was actually really yummy, but I got zero pictures. Don't worry, I got plenty of pictures of the most delicious cocktail I've had in a long time. I had 4. I think.

Easter lunch: we went to my mother in laws for an easter lunch, we ate so much that I didn't eat dinner.

Lots of cats, exercising and some baileys: I mentioned a few weeks ago that I 'really don't drink alcohol that much' and I think I drank more alcohol in March than I have in a long time. I'm really not one to drink at home, but 2 bottles of baileys recently say otherwise.

Only 2 of the baileys nights documented, but they were clearly the ones with the best hair. And snapchat prettifying filters, obviously because yeah. Duh.

Cats are weird and they lay or sleep in the most odd places. Like the top of the couch.

Or the bottom of the couch.

KC loves getting down on the rug with the cats. We actually got that rug for free (what, you wouldn't choose a very blue rug for your house?) and the cats love it.

SEE? God my cats are cute.

Millie loves to be held like a baby. I accidentally trained her to like this when she was a kitten because I thought it was cute, but now she won't be held like a normal cat. Weirdo.

That's about it! March was really relaxing and I am looking forward to April being pretty much the same and things starting to get busier as the weather gets warmer (can we hurry up with the warmer weather though, please?!).

If you'd like to link up with us, please do so below, and make sure you link back to us in your post/blog. Thank you, can't wait to see what's new with everyone!

  1. Your St. Patty's day celebrations look like fun-love your hair! Yay for a new TV, and you seriously have me craving Baileys! That Easter brunch looks so good!

  2. I heart all the cat photos so much :)
You tell us you find the most delicious cocktail, so you drank 4, but you didn't tell us what's in that tasty-looking cocktail. Do tell!

  3. Do you mix the baileys with anything? Or just ice in a glass? Haha

It has also been quite a long time since I was left alone to care for Children. And never any that were actually still potentially in diapers. Or who couldn't make a sandwich. They were all old enough to technically fend for themselves. The last time I was even near a kid I made her cry because I was being sarcastic and apparently 4 year olds don't know what sarcasm is yet. Whatever. I maintain my comment was funny and the kid was being sensitive.

  4. Love that St. Patty's day has some meaning to you two. You guys look had you had a b;ast. In bed by 9 tho? girl show me your way!

I love kids but its been a minute since I babysat as well! I wonder if I have it in me at this point.

Now to get you mad - I really dont like Baileys. I dont drink milk or milky stuff. My coffee is nearly always black, so Baileys is a no go. Dont hate me lol

  5. Cheers to another fun month, lady! Yay for a new TV, that is always the BEST! Funny how you always crave the most crowded restaurant's food on the worst day. But all you can eat for $12, that is quite amazing.

  6. I'm sad I missed on St. Paddy's celebrations! I think they had some parties in New Zealand, but the last thing I wanted to do was find a bar and be in a big crowd.

I am seriously waiting for the day that Adam buys a TV in Costco. We got memberships right before our trip and I swear I thought he was just going to buy a TV before we took off abroad. They suck you in!

  7. What a fun month!!! It looks like you had a fun St Patrick's Day!!! And who doesn't like a little Bailey's. It went along with the theme of St Patrick's Day, duh!!! I think Chris wishes we had a new TV, even though there is NOTHING wrong with the one we have!!! He just likes to have the newest best thing all the time. I hate when I want what everyone else wants at the same time. Crowded restaurants are no fun!!! Look at the pretty kitties!!!!

  8. Here's to drinks and cats and fun snapchat filters! I don't snap without it. Thanks for hosting! And as long as the kids are alive and uninjured you did just great I would say. ☺️

  9. Love love love all the kitty pics! Esp love that Millie was taught to be held like a baby. I taught my 18 year old kitty Diamond to jump on my back for treats when she was little and to this day if she sees someone bent over she jumps on their back, ha!

  10. Cat pictures are to you as dog pictures are to me ha ha.
    Prettifying filters. Sometimes they're necessary.

  12. Your cats are all so beautiful. I just love long haired cats. They look so regal.
I'm not used to seeing your St. Patricks Day pics without your twin bestie :)
YIPEE on the new TV. That looks like one proud man there with his new family addition :)

  13. I completely forgot St. Patrick's Day even happened in March...where in the world was I?
I love your nail color in the St. Patrick's pics!
    Your cats ARE cute!

  14. Low key months are always a good thing! And yay for a new TV..I was so happy for you when you snapped about it :)

  15. You guys are too cute in your Guinness shirts! Such a cutie couple! And it's always super fun to find a new awesome cocktail --- and all the kitty pictures! It's too cute to see a manly man playing on the floor with kitties!!

  16. I love your paddy's day polish! Nice Guinness shirts too.

MFD has been jonesing for a new TV. I'm like the one we have is FINE. Fine. LOL

  17. Your nails look gorgeous in your St. Patrick's Day photos. Can you pretty please tell me what color you used? I :) And I'm with you- these days my favorite nights are one where I can go out, get started socializing early and be home and in bed by ten. I need my sleep!

  18. Glad you had a more low key March! You looked so cute out on St. Patty's Day! LOVE those sunglasses! And the picture with the cats on the tv box is too funny! Oh Bailey's... so yummy! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

  19. I hope it's not weird that I'm saying this, but KC is looking BUFF! Nice work, dude. All your gym dates are paying off! And I had a good chuckle at the "we got back together at the parade in 2012" - you didn't find love in da club, you found it at a parade! *cue that love in da club song circa 2010* And your bailey's posts make me smile because my granny drinks bailey's every day. Y'all should hang out.

    ReplyDelete
  20. It sounds like you had an awesome March, even if there weren't a ton of pictures documenting it. I love when you have months of go go go that are followed up with a more chill month at home. Your new TV is so huge! I bet watching House Hunters on it is awesome! I wish that I could carry my pup around like a baby, he would be so adorable, just like Millie!

  21. I love to see random pictures of pets, we all know there are thousands on our phones so it's nice to share them!

I missed all fun St. Paddy's stuff again this year because of kid swim class, I won't let that happen next year.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I love your look in that St. Patrick's day picture! I think you look so stylish with you nails and two layers and distressed jeans. So cute! And we need to talk about how gorgeous your cats are. Every time you snap chat them I say, "awwwww" in my head because they're so cute and fluffy!

    ReplyDelete
  23. This is so random but I thought of it when I saw your cats on your rug, haha. I just learned that a rubber-ish flip flop sandal is the best for picking up cat hair. Our vacuum would not get it out of our living room area rug but if you sort of use the shoe like a squeegee it picks up allllll the hair. I swear our rug was a different color haha!

  24. I tell you all the time, but your cats are ridiculously pretty. Like cat models. Lol I like your bookcase. I just brought back a box of books from my mom's house, so I feel like mine is going to be similarly stacked soon.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Hhaha I love all of the cat pictures! SO cute. My parents' cat lets me hold him like a baby. Duchess and Scal both think they are dying if I pick them up for too long. Usually because they would like to be fed. LOL. We've been doing lots of yoga recently, YAY, but our cats have been all over those mats.... and like scratching them. Not great. I don't really care for drinking at home either unless people are over. Occasionally KC will make margaritas if we are having Mexican food. Overall March was laid back for us too. :) Happy April! :) XO - Alexandra

  26. I did not know you had a tuxedo cat, too!!! I mean, I should have noticed that before but I didn't because I guess I'm oblivious.

My dog sleeps on the back of our couch. We got a new one about 8 months ago and one of the back cushions are completely jacked up from Barkley sleeping on it daily and for hours at a time.

  27. Looks life a fun low-key month! I was at a work conference on St. Paddy's and had to present the next day. I did get a green cocktail at supper that night. :D

    ReplyDelete
  28. I love your St Paddy's day shirts! I was actually out for book club that night (I know, who hosts a book club at a restaurant on St Patrick's day?!) and when I asked if they had green beer the waitress basically called me a silly teenager. How rude.

Your cats are adorable! I haven't had a cat since I was a kid, but I miss their crazy antics!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Your cats are too stinkin' cute. Oh, the ones with those gorgeous blue eyes... It occurred to me while reading this, that even though I've lived in Louisville for 13 years, I've never seen the parade. Maybe next year... Have a good one!

  30. Yay for all the Baileys and a new tv! I remember you snapping that amazing drink on Good Friday, do you remember what was in it?

  31. Your cats are the absolute cutest. Yay for a new TV! I asked Ryan if he wanted a new one for his birthday next week, but he was a smart husband and said no since we have the kitchen reno coming up. And, I really want a bottle of Bailey's now.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yay, nice new big TV!!!! The random pics of the cats are adorable. Didn't know you had 3. They are very pretty.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I think following you on Snapchat was the best decision I've ever made. Just sayin' :D

    ReplyDelete
  34. I love that Millie wants to be held like a baby! That's adorable! Really all your cats are cuties! Hooray for a slightly less crazy month with more at home time. I hope your April is awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  35. so many kitty pictures :) I love that your cat likes to be held like a baby. The funny thing is my 60 lb dog is the same way. I have no idea why - we adopted him when he was already 3 years old. But he LOVES it. My boyfriend carries him around like that all the time. He likes to sit on your lap too. Like full on SIT on your lap, not lay across you. He's so weird. But completely adorable.

  37. Your cats are adorable! I love how they liked the new TV (box) as much as KC probably enjoys the actual tv!! Darn costco--- they get me every time. I've fallen for a blender before, but not the TV's... yet!! Make today work, Rachel -CubicleCouture

  38. The picture of you holding your cat like a baby is awesome.. haha whenever I get a puppy I might train him/her to be held like that. Is that possible? I might give it a try.. haha.

Looks like a fun month! I babysat often and this year I'm being bold and trying to save all my extra cash from that and use it for trips this fall! So I'm currently like "let me babysat everyone all the time right now please" haha.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Definitely looks like a fun month all-around! :) Hooray for that big new TV! Jared has been wanting to get a new one too but we haven't quite got there just yet. Too many other house projects calling our name (and wallets!) I guess... lame. I love all your cat pictures haha- cats are totally weird and I love it.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Your cats are so beautiful! I miss my kitties so much. I keep telling my husband we need to get another one but I don't miss all the hair, so there's that. :) Also -- yay for new TVs!

    ReplyDelete
  41. yum Baileys!! I'd love to have some in my coffee soon so might have to make a trip to the liquor store :) sounds like such a fun and relaxing month. Your St Patty's Day shirts are awesome!! Thanks for hosting the fun link up ;)

    ReplyDelete
  42. I love your cats all hanging out on the tv box, that's totally something our dogs would do! Not our cat, she'd probably just meow at me from across the room haha

    ReplyDelete
  43. The St Patrick's day parade sounds fun! Orlando is one of the cities that doesn't have a parade but most of the Irish restaurants throw parties so it can be fun. Congrats on the new TV! That's a big one!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I love your matching shirts, and jealous of your green beer! New TVs ARE exciting, and he looks giddy! And duh, your cats are adorbs, but we already knew that :)

  45. Those cat pictures are so cute!! I'm allergic and typically stay far, far away, but I don't know if I could resist snuggling them! :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. I think I have a small obsession with your cats. They are just so fluffy and so very pretty! I babysat for a friend's twins awhile ago and I was so nervous, too! It went well, but just the thought of being by myself with them was a bit nerve wracking.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Loving the cat pics. You're right, you do have really adorable cats and I'm quite jealous. I wish we were allowed pets! Congrats on keeping your friends kids alive, and not scarred for life either - bonus! And I'm going to need more details on that cocktail...

  48. I'm obsessed with your kitties, each one of them is gorgeous! I just love big, furry cats. I need to link up with you next time! ps. that easter lunch food looks delicious.

  49. Your cats are so pretty!!
Seeing people with multiple kitties always makes me want to adopt another cat :)

    ReplyDelete
  50. I love the pictures! :-) Those Guinness shirts are so cute, and your cats are gorgeous! I'm not even a cat person (and Eric and I are both allergic anyway, so we couldn't have one even if we wanted to), but for some reason I really like looking at pictures of your cats. (I just read that and realized it sounds kind of creepy, but I'm just going to go with it anyway. Haha.)

It's funny that one of your cats likes to be held like a baby. I used to hold the dog I had growing up like that! (She was a tiny 5 lb Yorkie.) I didn't know other people held their pets like that. Haha.

Also, yay for the new TV! We always look at them when we go to Costco too, but we already have two pretty new TVs and we really don't need another one right now. When we buy a house, yes. In a two bedroom apartment? No. It's still fun to look, though!

    ReplyDelete
  51. I'm a big animal person, but i'm allergic to cats so I try and stay away from them. it would be hard to that with your cats cause they are so pretty and look SO soft and fluffy!!

    ReplyDelete
  52. March was a fun month for you! YAY for a new TV, when we got ours on Black Friday we were pretty dang excited about it!!! PS I love your sunglasses in the St. Patty's pics!!

  53. Chill, low key months are the best! The parade looks like fun. My March was also pretty chill... April started off to a great start with a trip to Texas! Hoping to stay calm for awhile now cause I spent too much this past weekend while out of state hahah

    ReplyDelete
  54. March looks like a pretty awesome month! I love your Guinness shirts too! The only time I've had Bailey's is in an Irish Car Bomb & that was a disaster, haha. I love that you got pictures of your boss doing one of those! Costco is evil.. I love all of their furniture and always want to buy something new!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I love your cat pics! They are adorable! I have a cat I hold like a baby, too, but my other cat refuses to be held that way, ha ha.

  56. Those Kitty pics are killing me! I want a cat so bad but our landlord won't let us have one. :(

    ReplyDelete
  57. Haha your comment about your hair in the Bailey's pictures cracked me up. Also I am totally craving a delicious cocktail now. I love that Millie will only be held like a baby! So cute. Weird cats are the best cats.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Glad March was more low-key for you guys. Your St. Patty's celebrations sound and look fun. Your cats are seriously so adorable too, I love how they are all over the TV box. I hope April is good to you!!

    ReplyDelete
  59. I LOVE your matching St Paddy's T-shorts! We didn't even celebrate this year because I actually managed to totally forget about it until the actual day.

Mmm, Baileys! Love that stuff, but I can never finish a bottle before it goes off.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Bahaha! I love how the 2 bottles of bailey's in the month told you otherwise... ;) so many cute pics of the kitties! Sounds like a fun yet not over packed month!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Your cats are SO cute! Your my favourite person on snapchat because of your cats! haha

I try to hold my cat like a baby but she only tolerates it for like .5 seconds and then she's over it

  62. Love that you got to resurrect your parade day tradition this year :) you guys are the cutest in your matching shirts! And I am in love with your nail color too, by the way. Oh and I think we have the same water bottle if that's your purple Contigo on the table—mine's blue :) Yay for workouts and cat pictures always! I'm with you on the warm weather wishes. PLEASE, mother nature!

  63. Your cats! Your beautiful, beautiful cats! I want smooch on all of them! And I spent like 10 minutes trying to read all the books in your bookcase. Nosy but also suffer from serious book FOMO. :)

  64. The white cat with the blue eyes is seriously GORGEOUS.

  65. gahh your cats are so cute-- it makes me want one so bad! Love your matching shirts on st. paddy's day and yay for delicious drinks with dinner (and all the baileys, of course).

  66. What fun!!! I thought we'd do the big St. Paddy's celebration here in SF and I was all excited but I ended up being in LA and working late that night and my husband had a work event. So boo. Yours looks fun. Love your little drinking at home selfies, ha. And your cats are so cute! Congrats on the TV! Seriously, that's exciting!!!! We have a smallish one too - which I only know bc people always say that to us when they come in - and whenever we upgrade, I'm sure all will be excited.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Seeing your snaps about drinks this month really made me miss being able to drink. Ha! St. Paddy's day looked like fun! We don't have any kind of celebrations in our small town. And yes to all the cat pictures...so cute!

  70. Your cats are beautiful! If I end up with another cat, I'm definitely getting a long haired one. I think they'll round us out nicely :)
