Favourite Podcast - The Armchair Librarians
I'm actually not a huge podcast person, I'm more about the audiobooks, but lately books in general have been blah, so instead, I've been listening to people talk about books! Two of my favourite people actually, Steph and Jana! First they have the best books link up, then they have the best podcast. You need to check it out!
Favourite Purchase - these t-shirts from Nordstrom Rack

I mentioned I bought 2 tshirts from Nordstrom Rack in my shopping post, but I was incorrect that they were sold out - oh, maybe they were sold out but I had the wrong link regardless. They are now in stock and here is the correct link, they are only $15.
Paying for shipping is extremely rude, but I bought 2 and with tax it worked out to be $20 each which is not bad though not as cheap as Target - though now that I have received them, I am not mad about it at all. They are definitely worth it, the quality is great and I absolutely prefer them over other t-shirts I own.
Here are some photos of me wearing the tshirts if you are interested. I am 5'9 and love how long they are! The navy looks see through online but it is not in person.
Other outfit details: Jeans and Shoes from Express, hair and face from 'I was in my pajamas before these photos'. Seriously though, these jeans? Absolutely AMAZING. If you are curious about express jeans and what they look like, how they differ from each other and how they fit - check out this post from Gina. It helped me choose which ones I wanted, not to mention the size.

It's getting real, the cruise is just over 2 months away. 2 MONTHS. Guess how ready I am. Bikini ready that is. I mean, I know bikini ready = have a body, put on bikini, but I need to fit the bikinis, you know? Like I mentioned a thousand times in other posts, I am not feeling myself right now and I don't want to starve myself a week before the cruise, I'm trying to be sensible now.
I also have this condition where if I see a ton of complicated ingredients or something that takes a long time to make, my eyes glaze over and I close the web page. I just can't. Well, I can, but I won't.
That means simple but reasonably healthy food, such as:
Easy Falafel - I have never seen the word 'easy' next to falafel and it actually been true. This does look much easier than normal. We have only tried falafel at home once and it didn't turn out the best. I love falafel though so I'm willing to give it another go.

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!
All of those food pics have my mouth watering! I looooooove those t-shirts that you got! They fit so perfectly!!!
ReplyDeleteDay 8!! Good for you! High five for sure!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love those tees on you! And the jeans look awesome and are on sale right now. I'm reading the reviews on them and they are kind of all over the place as far as size goes, haha! I'm thinking I may try to get to the store today to try them on! :)
Those shirts always look so great on you - they look like a garbage bag on me. you were made for them.
ReplyDeleteI can eat portobella mushrooms every day. To me, they taste like meat - so it always gives me that 'hearty' eating feeling while sticking to my vegetarian ways.
I'm telling you - you GOTTA listen to the podcast "What Should I read Next"... you will LOVE IT! I look forward to it every week. & I think I told you - she's a local Louisville gal too!
I lived on Sweet potatoes + avocado + black beans last year. Very good.
ReplyDeleteThose tshirts do look comfy. The vneck on the models looks kinda deep so I'd probably be put off from ordering them, but it doesn't look that way on you. Hm...
Yum to those recipes! I think I could eat a sweet potato almost everyday of my life and not be mad about it. Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteThose tees look great on you! If you're 5'9 and they're that long on you, they'll probably be a dress on me :( I usually buy crop tops just because they hit me at the right place! Short torso problems. All those recipes look SO good!
ReplyDeleteHigh five for not eating the cookie pizza! I don't know if I could've resisted!
ReplyDeleteThose foods look delicious, but I'm the same way... too many ingredients or steps and I'm outta here. I'm craving donuts right now which is a bit of a problem. Haha.
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS on resisting the cookie pizza!! It takes so much mental muscle! And sooo glad the t-shirts worked out for you! I am with you in that I hate paying for shipping, but I haven't been too bothered with these t-shirts because they're worth it. I will definitely get more colors. And thanks for the shout out. You're the best. :)

Those shirts are the best! So flattering!
ReplyDeleteYEAH girl discipline! so proud. who wants a cookie pizza anyway. give me a real pizza. ha. those t-shirts are so cute. i am not tall but have a longer torso they would prob work for me! happy friday!
ReplyDeletexoxo cheshire kat
Love those t-shirts! I feel like I can never have enough soft, slouchy tees...they just go with everything! ;) Have a great weekend! xx
ReplyDeleteYou look awesome in those pics, so I don't know what you are talking about silly girl when you say you need to work out more. It shows you've been killing it in the gym! Easy falafel at home!? Sold! Have a great weekend with your liquid dinner ;)
ReplyDelete"the fit his the shan" - you are hilarious without trying.
ReplyDeleteLove the t-shirts and the entire look. I love black so I love all black looks.
I wanna try those portobello pizzas!
So excited your cruise is so close, so awesome, lady! You are gonna rock that bikini body, I have no doubt. LOVE the delicious set of recipes posted.
ReplyDeleteI have no self-control when it comes to sweets but I totally admire anyone who does. I know it's hard -- which is why I'm a failure, but still think it rocks when someone else is able to beat the sugar system. :)
ReplyDeleteOn the egg muffins or whatever they're called -- I made some with spinach and eggs and the recipe said they could be frozen, then zapped in a microwave for 30 sec - maybe 45 sec? I'm not sure but you can definitely freeze them for a later day.
The tops are so cute- they definitely look better on then in the pic online! I make "egg cups" (same as the fritatta I'm guessing) and I eat them M-F with no problems! They are a TIME SAVER (and delicious) for real!! Make today work, Rachel -CubicleCouture
ReplyDeleteOh hellooooooo, (non-spicy) sweet potatoes. Get in muh belly.
ReplyDeleteThose shirts! A win for tall people!
Those stuffed sweet potatoes and portobello pizzas look delicious!!! Yay for no sweets!
ReplyDeleteThose shirts are adorable!! I love them! Yay, so exciting your cruise is so soon! Next week I'll be in SF! Woohoo! :) I hope you guys have a blast, and yay for discipline. I have done some type of working out for two weeks, all but one day! And most days I did "double" workouts. So.. it still evens out to doing something every day! Plus healthier eating, and only one soda allowed in that time frame. We were at a movie, it seemed like a reasonable exception! :) Just a few more days to keep it up pre-travel. When we'll still try to do well, and definitely be walking enough for it to be ok! :) I am definitely pinning the Falafel and Sweet Potato recipes. NOM! ALSO THIS WAS THE WORK-WEEK FROM HELL HERE, SO YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY FRIDAY! :) XO - Alexandra
ReplyDeleteSimply Alexandra: My Favorite Things
Paying for shipping is rude! I am less likely to buy something online if I have to pay for shipping.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the podcast love!
ReplyDeleteI don't freeze my egg muffins but I know people do.
When I want a breakfast for the freezer, I do breakfast burritos. So I guess it's the same, there are eggs in there.
I really like those t-shirts. They were cute on the sales pic but they look great on you. Comfy but still chic. The length thing would be an issue for me because I barely crack 5' ... in shoes. :) I have not listened to the Armchair Librarians Podcast yet. Bad Tanya! I'm not really into podcasts but want to support Jana and Steph, plus with those two - you know it's going to be a hoot! Amen on falafel being kind of a pain to make. I love little mini-quiches. They last anywhere from 3-5 days in the fridge. I keep what I plan to eat for the week in the fridge and freeze the rest. They freeze really well, so I always make a lot. You can also reheat them directly from the freezer too. Good for you for saying no to cookie pizza. I had a rough week and succumbed to pound cake. This is why Tanya should never go to the store when she is hungry, because she gets too distracted by things that she should not be putting in her belly!
ReplyDeletePour yourself dinner LOLOLOL YES!!!!!!!!!! I love Steph and Jana's podcast too! It is so fun to listen to them in the car. Those stuffed sweet potatoes look yummy. Sweet potato anything is my favorite. Love your shirts that you got! Day 8 YOU CAN DO THIS! Have a great weekend!!!
ReplyDeleteDo you just drink the Bailey's straight?? I've only ever had it in coffee - never thought to drink it any other way haha
ReplyDeleteI NEED those t-shirts - they are the perfect length for leggings!
I'm always on the look out for Podcasts, and this one sounds amazing!!! I'll be checking it out for sure!!! My favorite thing is you spell it favourite. I love it and wish I could do that and not look like a poser. :-)
ReplyDeleteI usually make a dozen egg muffins, divide them into bags, usually 2 per bag and leave them in the fridge for the week. When Jared and I are both taking them they're in the fridge for 3-4 days and are totally fine. You could freeze them though if you want to make more or have them last longer, etc! I love those shirts btw, what size did you get?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the podcast love!! We're so glad you guys are enjoying it.
ReplyDeleteLong t-shirts=dress on me because I'm short. But I do appreciate the awesomeness of finding shirts that fit well because I have big boobs. When I find a good shirt, I buy it in 19 colors.
Those shirts are so cute, I love long shirts! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThose t-shirts look awesome on you! I will for sure have to check out that podcast! I'm such a bookworm. Hope you have a great weekend!

Those T-shirts look super comfy! And yayyyy good job on the no sweets! Also, I loovvee Express' jeans. I make sure to buy them whenever they have their 40% sales. The fit of them is my favorite out of any other jeans recently.
ReplyDeleteI need to catch up on Steph & Jana's podcast. Listened to their first ep when they posted it but I'm so glad they're weekly on iTunes now!
ReplyDeleteThose mini quiches and artichoke chicken look AMAZING. I'm trying to be better about cooking lately because I've been pretty lazy so those are getting pinned right now.
I am not a podcast person either but I still love podcast suggestions. I have not given up hope that someday I will find one that I love! I am always on the lookout for slouchy but not boyish t-shirts and I love how those shirts fit you! Next time I cave and do some online shopping I will have to remember these.
ReplyDeleteSorry you had such a rough week, cheers to all the Bailey's this weekend! Loving that top on you, such a great find! Happy Friday gurlie <3
ReplyDeleteGreen Fashionista
Those T-shirts look so comfy! I've been on a blah reading streak too. It actually took me eight days to finish a recent book. Those stuffed sweet potatoes look really good!
ReplyDeleteHigh five, discipline girl!!! I also am loving the Armchair Librarians!
ReplyDeleteYES for long tees! I am tall too and can never seem to find tshirts that are long enough (well, as long as I'd like them to be!).
ReplyDeleteWay to go on that discipline, girl! xo
Those shirts are so cute!! Yay for the cruise soon!! Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteThose shirts are so cute and look great on you! As a fellow tall person, I'm sure you understand the frustration of not being able to find shirts that are long enough. It sounds like you're off to a great start on the healthy train! I don't know if I would have been able to resist the cookie cake! I definitely had some pizza today at lunch!
ReplyDeleteOh man I love falafel. I haven't had it in forrrevvverrrr. I've said I wanted to make those egg muffin things for like years now and I just never do it haha oops.
ReplyDeleteI love a good slouchy long tee. I ordered a few from Old Navy that should get here today but if they don't work out I may have to put in a Nordstrom Rack order instead...
Love the shirts! I'm 5' 7"ish and have a super long torso so long shirts are my jam as well. I feel like I'm not really THAT tall, but dresses are almost ALWAYS too short on me. Do you, as a tall girl, have problem with dresses being too short? Also, I could not agree more with you about food that looks super good, but turns out to have an ingredient list a mile long! like come on, ain't nobody got time for that!
ReplyDeleteyes! seriously, i don't get it! it's like all dresses are made for people who are like 5'2 haha. i have basically given up on 'short' or normal dresses because they are too short.
DeleteThose shirts are amazing. Longer shirts are my FAVORITE! I love how flawy they are, but still could be fancy or casual. I hate when the office is empty, makes me want to be home even more! ;) have a fun weekend!
ReplyDeleteand by flawy I meant flowy ;)
DeleteThose shirts look fabulous, but I was also definitely thinking the jeans also looked comfy. They won't do me any good now, but I like Express so I'll check them out one day. Yummmm stuffed sweet potatoes!! Omg. I need this.
ReplyDeleteDude. Cookie pizzas are my weakness. Wait. I have a lot of weaknesses, but they are one of them. Good for you for having your willpower in check!
ReplyDeleteIf I lived in the US, I'd buy those t-shirts too. Lookin' good ;)
Those shirts look so comfy!!
ReplyDeleteThose shirts look so good on you! Recipes with a long list of ingredients and directions intimidate me too. Give me something simple!!
ReplyDeleteWhoa! No sweets for 8 days! That's amazing, nice work! Can you buy falafel in a box there? A company called Casbah makes it here...no weird ingredients, you just add water to the dry mixture, form balls, and fry on the stovetop! I love those t-shirts...I will have to see what shipping to Canada would cost, haha! (ridiculous I'm sure!). It's so hard to find good t-shirts!
ReplyDeleteI really need to get on the no junk/sweets ship....but I just cant yet. Ah. Well. Sorta.
ReplyDeleteI need to pour myself some dinner too. I'm feeling that.
Kudos to saying no to a pizza cookie! Those are hard to resist! Love your tees, too :)
ReplyDeleteThose tees look great on you! They look like great quality, too. I can't wait to try some of these recipes - hello, portobello mushroom pizzas. Hope you had a good weekend, friend!
ReplyDeleteThose tees are sooooo cute and they look so comfy!! I dont blame you for buying them in 2 colors!
ReplyDelete<3 Shannon
Upbeat Soles
Those tees! I'm really short though (5'1") so I think they'd be way too long on me. And congrats on holding out on the sweets! I'm two weeks into the wheat belly diet and I'm doing pretty good. Definitely going to try out those portobello mushroom pizzas!
ReplyDeleteOoh, that sweet potato looks so tasty! I want to eat it right now.
ReplyDeleteSuch cute tops! those jeans look amazing, and I'm 5'8" so I love seeing how they fit on a taller girl! Give me that stuffed sweet potato, and I hoped you enjoyed your liquid dinner! I love finding a good liquor or drink I haven't had in forever and then can't stop won't stop!
ReplyDeleteI think falafel is one of my favorite foods ever! I still need to find tahini somewhere so I can try the recipe I had in one of my cookbooks-- or maybe I should just try this one and attempt it sans food processor! I'm so excited your cruise is coming up so quickly, after being in freezing Boston for a week I'm dreaming about being somewhere tropical and warm.
ReplyDeleteYour hair is getting so long - love it!! I just ate lunch and somehow I'm starving again after this post!! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteooo, I love those tshirts too. they are really nice when they're longer like that. And this food situation from head to toe is pretty much heaven... give me it all!
ReplyDeleteThe sweet potatoes look DELICIOUS! Like, I may have to try those tonight. I have the hardest time finding skinny jeans that are long enough so when I need new jeans after this baby (because I know I will!) I'll have to check out Express!
ReplyDeleteChecking out that podcast now! I've been getting more into them lately.
ReplyDeleteGo you with the no junk! I'm having a tiny piece of junk every day and I think that works for me. Otherwise I properly lose the plot. We shall see... I love the new t-shirts, so good to find something long enough! I'm debating on pulling the trigger on a SheIn cart. It's risky, but the prices are so good! And I am always on for new recipes. Yes please. Checking those out now....
ReplyDeleteOkay so I just have to say that I've also attempted falafel at home and it was ugly at best. BUT! I've made Minimalist Baker recipes before and they turned out WONDERFULLY! I'm actually going to attempt this recipe you shared tomorrow night for dinner. Stay tuned :)
ReplyDeleteOmg those recipes all look so amazing! Love those tees too, I think I'm going to order a couple. I can always use more tees!
ReplyDeleteThe recipes look great! Especially the stuffed baked potato, putting avocado on it is different from anything I've seen before. I also don't like recipes with too many ingredients or complicated instructions, only the basics for me :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not really sure if I'm losing my mind... but I swore I read this and commented before but I don't see it on here so maybe I read it and never commented?! Gosh. I'm definitely losing my mind. Anyways, drink some dinner for me and have some of those portabella pizzas as a dessert for me since you have way more discipline than I do to avoid those sweets! ;)
ReplyDeleteGirl! Can I just comment on how amazing you're looking?? Your gym discipline is paying off. Those tees look absolutely awesome on you. Also, I want all of the food. All of it. You can just come on down and we can chow down together, k?
ReplyDeleteI was on a sabbatical from blogs in general for the past few month so I totally missed that Steph and Jana have a podcast! Time to catch up! The fit of those shirts is awesome! How's the fabric? It looks sheer in the model picture, but I can't really tell from yours.
ReplyDeleteThose mini frittatas look delicious!
ReplyDeleteok all of the food you listed looks amazing, the falafel, portobello pizzas, and sweet potatoes are totally recipes I would try. although I'm hoping you try the falafel and let us know how it goes first... I've never tried to make it before!
ReplyDeletexx, lauren
I really love those t-shirts you got! I hear you about it being a crazy week. I always look forward to the weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove the shirts on you! You look amazing! Ben has a really good falafel recipe I can send you if you want. It's sort of like Mexicna inspired (we eat ours with pittas and guacamole) so not exactly traditional but it's super good. Yes high five for discipline!!!
ReplyDeleteyou've got me SOLD on those shirts--they are SO cute. and the recipes--i am majorly drooling over these at 7am!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE those shirts! They look great on you! Are you wearing a size M or S? I never know what to order...
ReplyDeleteI recently made this stuffed sweet potatoes too and loved them!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely gonna check out The Armchair Librarians! Ooo...that stuffed sweet potato sounds (and looks) tastay.
ReplyDelete
