After my large purchase last month (Hunters), I wanted to spend less in November. I thought that might be difficult because of the whole black Friday / cyber Monday thing. I thought correctly, but I didn't go too crazy.
I bought a swimsuit. I'm too scared to show it though, so you'll just have to imagine. All the reviews said to size up, but they were out of the bigger size for me, so I ordered my normal size. It's a bit small. Not crazy small, but motivating small. Basically you can pretend that's me below.
Spoiler: It's not. I know it's confusing what with the Australia sash, but nope.
I also bought a mug in Disney and a t-shirt in Universal. Very good for me - KC spent more on himself than I did! Ha. That never happens.

Solids / Stripes - it looks like the exact striped one is sold out, but here is a very similar one (same top, different stripes). |
After that, I thought for sure I'd be good. Except.. sales.
I bought 3 pairs of work pants from Target. I've been trying to find the perfect pair of work pants for ages. If these don't work, I'll be taking them back, but I had to snatch them up while they were on sale. I'm not even that tall, but I have the darndest time finding pants that are long enough. Thanks for long sizes at affordable prices, Target.

I can't find the exact jumper, this one looks pretty similar but it's not exact (small differences, like it's a curved hem and the drawstring isn't white). |
I've been looking for new leopard flats since 2012, mine are too small (why on earth I bought them too small in the first place, who knows). Bought these ones from American Eagle, hopefully they work out.

And this is why I want to share my shopping, jeepers Kristen. Time to slow down. December needs to be no spend.
Did you get anything good on black Friday?
I always love everything you buy! One of each, please. My leopard flats are old and gross and desperately need replacing so thanks for the link!
ReplyDeleteIs that the hoodie (jumper) you send me a picture of a while back? Because I loooove it and actually I second Tracy, I love everything so I'll have one of everything too. Those rompers <3 <3 <3 and thank you for pointing out those workout pants! As you can imagine I'm increasing my yoga apparel budget over the next few months but I still just can't get on board with spending a fortune on pants (ahem, Lululemon). Those look great though, I need to remember to check TJs and Marshalls for workout gear!
ReplyDeleteYou got some pretty awesome stuff! I've had those leopard print flats on one of my Pinterest wish lists for awhile but just haven't purchased them yet! They are only $20 now so I think that's a sign I need to get them finally, right? I love that hoodie from Target too! They are just killing me right now with all of their winter stuff!
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy reading these posts. I can go crazy this time of year because I tell myself It's Christmas!, I deserve it!, I'm an adult!, I'm my own Santa!
ReplyDeleteYesterday, I picked out new living room furniture (that I'm not quite ready to pull the trigger on) and today I found a purse that I love (LOVE). It's almost $400. So that's a no-go.
You've read the Shopaholic books, right? (not a dig, or sarcasm...Becky Bloomwood is incredibly endearing)
Ahhhh so much cute stuff! That bikini top is amazing and I really need to check those tops out from Express!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I love that you bought 6 of the same top, I do the same when I find a top with a great fit. I have totally been doing the whole one for you, one for me this season. Oy.
ReplyDeleteI need the Cheshire Cat mug on my life like now.
ReplyDeleteIn* In my life
DeleteI miss online shopping, moving to Iceland has been good for my wallet and bad for my closet!
ReplyDeleteIt's just soooo hard to resist a good sale! I do the thing where I buy the same shirt in 10 different colors too ;).
ReplyDeleteI bought a similar hoodie like that at Target with the 40% off on Friday... & Adele... we were shopping twins.
ReplyDeleteI go to Disney with an empty suitcase just for buying things. Why we cant afford to go to Disney often :)
I love all of your finds!!! Good for you for only spending money at Target on Black Friday--there's always something (or a ton of somethings) great there!
ReplyDeleteour "black friday" sales sucked ass. even the online shops sucked ass. i'm waiting for Boxing day to get good shizz!! you got a lot of great stuff!
ReplyDeletehow awesome is all this stuff? is it bad my fav thing is that cheshire kat mug? haha. but i mean of course :) love me some baseball tee's too!
ReplyDeletexoxo cheshire kat
I love the Express tops, they look very cozy! In terms of Black Friday shopping I only got a couple of things at Target and that was it for me. With everything 40% off I could not resist! The mug that you got from Disney is SO cute, I wanna go there just to look through all of the sweet souvenirs lol.
ReplyDeleteUm... THE SALES. Geez. I think I'm doing a good job with my shopping for a month and then boom, there's a 50% off + free shipping sale. Or a bike that I've had my eye on forever that never, ever, ever goes on sale goes on sale. Sigh. There's always December though, right? :)
ReplyDeleteThose are all great purchases! I skip Black Friday deals because, having worked in the industry, I know the quality usually plummets on those "sale" items. BUT these are all must-have staples, and those brown boots are just to die for!
ReplyDeleteWell, you definitely got some great purchases! When I was working in the corporate office, I swore by Target dress pants - they are comfortable, hold up well, and the perfect length, so I hope they work out for you, too! I've heard so much about that Express One Eleven line, so maybe I'll go do some shopping for myself now, too because all I've done is shop for the house and other people. #problems
ReplyDeletei loveee the express tees! do they fit TTS? xo jillian - cornflake dreams
ReplyDeleteI want that hoodie right now because holy crap it looks like the most comfy & incredible thing ever! I think you picked up some seriously awesome things this month WITHOUT breaking the bank! Well done, friend, well done ;) xo
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing your picks, even though we have totally opposite styles haha. I just love seeing anyone get a good deal! Hooray sales. I didn't go crazy - a few things at Ulta I actually needed (soap, lotion, brush cleanser) and a glue gun for my mom at Michaels. Oh and pink winter boots from JustFab! Milwaukee, if you go back on the site. I spent only $15.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check out that brand of workout pants. I love exercise gear from TJ Maxx
ReplyDeleteThank you for clarifying that it wasn't you in that gif... you're right -the sash was confusing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;P
ReplyDeleteLOLOLOL When you were talking about a jumper I was expecting to see overalls or something... I forgot that's what most people call them except for in the States it seems like. Very cute!
I agree with you that Christmas gifts don't count. I didn't even make eye contact with a retail store on Black Friday though. You're brave.
I can't wait to tell all my friends that I know Miss Australia! Or is it Mrs. Australia? I think my favorite comment through this whole post is that you bought the rompers for the cruise that is 6+ months away :)
ReplyDeleteyeahhhh me too. I definitely splurged on an erin condren planner yesterday... and ordered some makeup... and bought a lot of presents over the weekend... and clothes at Target too. I needed the makeup and was going to get a planner anyhow... so that's all ok I guess... EXPENSIVE. But I also only got clothes that I'll love, deciding in advance to take one sweater back... haha Hahhaa lol that bathing suit gif. :) :) You crack me up. I didn't even let myself look at VS's sales... oy. Hoping December is better for me too! lol. XO -Alexandra

Wooo!!! I'm so glad you shared your shopping this month! I feel much better about myself! And I'm so glad you love that v neck tee, too!! It's so comfy and just the right balance of fitted and relaxed. And hooray for them finally including One Eleven stuff in sales (twice in a month!!) after excluding it since they launched it last spring. I sort of wish I had waited for Black Friday to get a couple of items but then again, they might have sold out already!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you found some great deals online! I was thinking that I didn't spend too much on myself for Black Friday and then I started getting emails for stuff that shipped and I was like oh yeah I did buy that for myself...
ReplyDeleteMajor props to you for only buying a shirt and a coffee mug while on vacation! I probably would've bought all of the Disney parks Starbucks mugs because I'm obsessed!
This probably isn't as random as I feel like it is, but I literally JUST almost got that bikini top yesterday! It's so cute, but I decided I really don't need a swimsuit right now, haha. Love both of the rompers you got, and hopefully the work pants work out for you! I very rarely think to shop at Express, but now I want one of those tops too, haha.
ReplyDeleteLove the sweatshirt thing from Target! I wanted it before too, but when I went on BF they only had blue. Not sure if it was that exact one or similar.
ReplyDeleteI love the stuff you got! And I'm in the same boat when it comes to crazy shopping/spending recently. The worst part is that each time I got online to do some Christmas shopping, I ended up buying something for myself as well. I'm still not finished with my Christmas shopping (ugh!), but you can bet that I now have a bunch of stuff I "needed" (okay, I really only needed the conditioner but whatever) from Ulta and a bunch of cute new tops.
ReplyDeleteBest steal for me during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales was my big Christmas gift from my mom: Tory Burch booties 50% off. 50% OFF! I couldn't believe it. I actually ordered them myself, but I was talking to her while I was looking at them and she said, "Just go ahead and buy them and I'll give you the cash at Christmas to cover them." She wanted to make sure I could get them in my size right then in case they sold out. It was a huge splurge (I don't think I've ever purchased/owned shoes that cost more than maybe $80), but I loved them and they were exactly what I'd been searching for for at least 2 months.
OMG i want that mug. I mean its the cutest! I buy a mug wherever I go! Those rompers are super cute. I need to track my crazy insane spending. But after December because its just begun and I already blew way too much on the randomist of things.
ReplyDeleteI got the same sweatshirt jumper thing at Target (mine's strings aren't white either)! Its so comfyyyy!!!
ReplyDeleteCute picks! I love those boots!
