My top 10 beauty products under $10

Now, I'm no beauty blogger - nor am I any kind of beauty guru. But I am a tightarse and I like my stuff cheap, whether it's makeup or books or whatever. The cheaper, the better. I also like good products (duh) and whether it's $10 or $100 I don't want to waste my money. So I thought I would share my favourite products that are all under $10, and I hope that Miranda and Jaelan don't mind me joining in with their link up, because the prompt today is Frugal Flair.

This post contains affiliate links, meaning if you click, I get like 2 cents so thanks for that! I'll buy you a cup of coffee if we ever meet.

Most of these products have been recommended to me by Megan, and I trust her recommendations. I don't think I have ever bought something she recommended or used on me and I didn't love it. Thank Zeus for best friends, right?

1. NYC studio eye liner in black.
2. Milani lipstick in nude creme. I mentioned this yesterday, I'm not kidding when I say I love it.
3. NYX butter gloss - I love these lip glosses and normally throw them on over the lipstick or sometimes on their own when I'm in a rush. My favourites are Eclair and Creme Brulee.
4. Rimmel stay matte powder - everyone loves this, right? What's not to love. It's awesome.
5. Rimmel bronzer. I mentioned this as well yesterday. My mum has been using it as long as I can remember and you really can't beat the price.
6. Rimmel foundation - clearly, I like Rimmel's products. I do like this foundation, it feels really heavy at first but evens out pretty well. I have actually been using this covergirl one for a few months, I bought it for $12 but apparently it's cheaper online.
7. NYX eyebrow duo - I'm not good with my eyebrows but this stuff is so easy to use, and so cheap.
8. Maybelline age rewinder - well you know I love this. If they ever stop making it, I will cry.
9 & 10. I love mascara and at last count I had 17. It's a problem. My current (drugstore) favourites are L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara and Maybelline Mega Plush. I have been wanting to try the Maybelline Falsies one but I have been trying to be good and not buy any more mascara.

I don't really have a lot in my arsenal, but these are all products I use regularly and will continue to buy. Like I said, not a beauty blogger, but here's a couple of awkward parking lot pictures using most of the products above.

I'm also wearing eyeshadow and blush in the pictures, but they aren't drugstore or under $10.

I would love to get to a point where I am using all cruelty free brands. I had no idea that so many of my favourites weren't. Check out this post from Steph for more info and recommended brands, if you're interested.

What are some of your cheapie favourites?

  2. So many items I want to try! I need the concealer and I've been looking for a cheaper foundation that works! I was wondering how dark that lip stick was but I love the color in the picture you posted so I think I may have to get that one as well!

  3. my cheapie favourites all have to do with shampoo! i buy my all natural shampoo for a few bucks at winners. i've tried to go the cheapie route with makeup but they either wear off in like, an hour or they irritate my skin :(

  4. Ah! I absolutely LOVE this post. Drugstore makeup can be really nice!
I love that Age Rewind Concealer and NYX butter gloss (so creamy on the lips!).

Thanks SO much for joining us.

  5. I used to use that eyeliner and then I switched to Maybelline line stiletto because the applicator is so much better! Only problem is my local Target doesn't carry it, but lucky I can find it at the grocery store! I need a new powder so I may try the one you use. You look beautiful in those parking lot pictures!

  6. Gorgeous girl! I need to check out that stay matte powder, the humidity is no friend to my fresh makeup :-P

  7. Giiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrl, if you like Nars Orgasm, let me tell ya, CoverGirl Cheekers Blush in Classic Pink is dabomb. Works well on my fair skintone as well as my sister, who is darker. And your lashes, with just mascara, are to die for. You don't need falsies! I love Maybelline Define-A-Lash!

  8. I have yet to try Butter Gloss but I've heard amazing things. I'm getting a sample in my next Ulta order... can't wait for it to get here - I hope it's a good color!
Stay Matte powder is my go to. I like putting it on with a "fan" brush. So light!
I'm a mascara junky, too. I've tried The Falsies though and I wasn't a fan. I haven't had too much luck with Maybelline mascara. Rimmel is where it's at for me when it comes to drugstore mascara. Right now I'm using high end and I need to ween myself off. :(

  9. You are so photogenic! The NYX Lip Butter is one of my favorites!! It's so moisturizing!

  10. I love the NYX butter gloss! Haven't tried the Rimmel foundation line, but I'd love to find a cheaper foundation that works. 17?! I thought I was bad with my 5!!

  11. NYX butter glosses are the best! I love that you have 17 mascaras - a girl after my own heart! L'Oreal Voluminous is my favorite drugstore one!

  12. I love Rimmel products too, they are great for their price. I have yet to try NYX but I also love Wet N Wild eye liners, shadow and palettes, they are SUPER cheap too.

  13. You look gorgeous! You don't even need any more makeup that than. I always go for a simple, easy look like that as well. I already own a lot of these products and I can't wait to try out that lipstick!!

  14. Drugstore all the way! Thanks for the shout out too :) Let me know when you're close to running out of something, and I will make it my mission to find you the best drugstore cruelty free dupe I can!

  15. I don't do a ton of beauty products but I'm all for under $10 when I do. The eyebrow duo looks intriguing, I'm not great at eyebrows. They are my biggest enemy beauty wise.

  16. love this affordable list! i need to buy the concealer again! i dropped mine on the floor (in bug spray!) the first time i tried to use it. fail. xo jillian - cornflake dreams

  17. Rimmel bronzer is pretty much the best! it was the very first bronzer that I've tried and I think that's so good for the price. I've also been trying to use up all of my "cruel" makeup and make the switch to cruelty free. I think I will end up getting a lot of ELF stuff because it's chap and good :)

  18. I love the Rimmel bronzer. I'm a huge fan of drugstore mascara too.

  19. You have the most beautiful big eyes!
I need to try that matte pressed powder!!!

  20. I need #2 in my life! That color is totally up my alley! Love these finds, you look gorgeous in the attached images.

  21. I think the Milani lipstick is the only thing out of these products that I don't currently have in my make up bag! Some really great recommendations here and I love that everything is budget friendly!

  22. I have the age rewind concealer, I love it. The Maybelline DreamLumi highlighting concealer is awesome too. And cheap. :)

  23. Does the Mega Plush mascara really work for you?? I have it and it doesn't do a thing for me. It doesn't even look as if I'm wearing any. I'm a HUGE fan of Benefit's They're Real mascara, but it's pricey. My favorite drugstore brand... Maybelline Great Lash, the one with the tapered wand. It makes my lashes huge.

  24. I love the NYX butter glosses. I own about 4 of them and also Maybelline makes really awesome mascaras that are affordable.

  25. Found you through the link up... these are some of my favorite products!! Great look!!

  26. I use so many of these products!! NYX Butter, Milani lip, Rimmel Stay Matte powder and I used the BB cream of theirs..not the foundation but I ought to try it too because you look fabulous!! Falsies is a great mascara and I seem to grab one at least once or twice a year between all my other ones I try. Oh, and age rewind....yup yup yup!

I was sure to clickity-click all your links! You will have to teach me your 2 cent ways. Its better than nothing!

  27. I'm going to try and pick up that lipstick. I love Rimmel products, but my bronzer broke. :( I do have a fix for it though. :) The Lash Sensational mascara has been my go to lately for mascara.

  28. Pretty girl!! I have the exact same powder, bronzer, the under eye concealer and the Nyx lip gloss. No need to spend a bundle when these babies cost so much less!

  29. I've heard so much about the Butter Gloss, I want to try it! But first I should probably use up the hundreds of lip balms, glosses, and colors I already have, lol!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I love the Age Rewinder. That and BareMinerals concealer are my fav, but I guess that isn't under $10 so it doesn't count lol

    ReplyDelete
  31. My god woman you are gorgeous. Totally agree with the stay matte powder!

  32. Oh yesss...I love it when you do these posts! I have been using Maybelline Age Rewind since you last posted about it. Based on what my kids tell me (i.e. "you look old for your age") I don't think it's rewinding anything but it's become a part of my regular routine anyway. I must try the Rimmel Stay Matte powder. I just started trying out NYX stuff last month when I had to get some new things for my dance show and I am hooked on that too! I'll try the Studio Liner next. I tried one of their Butter Glosses and it's just okay for me...I'll probably stick with MAC lipglass on that but they're sort of apples and oranges.

  33. You are gorgeous!!! Just saying. And this post is awesome! I always seem to try the cheap products that suck haha so this is actually really helpful! I do use the mega lash mascara and I love it! It's my favorite :)

  34. I need to get my hands on that Milani lipstick - I basically feel like it's a necessity now since you're one of several people that have mentioned how great it is. Also, both those shades in the NYX butter glosses also are my fave, usually layered on top of a lipstick. Rimmel has my favorite lip liners and lipsticks, so I'm not shocked that their face products are amazing, too.

  35. Hey pretty lady. I'm a big fan of NYX products, they're really so great for the price. I have the butter gloss in Creme Brulee too and I absolutely love it. Such a pretty color and I looove the texture.

  36. Your Makeup looks so natural overall, probably emphasizing your eyes! The Lipstick looks fabulous on you.

  37. Cheap make-up? I forgot what that's like. Actually, I haven't. It's one of the things that I can't let go. I embrace almost all things Australian except their cost of cosmetics.

  38. i love what you chose--i see a lot of faves of mine in there!! great choices, kristen!

  39. I will have to check out that lipstick. The color is perfect! And I love your awkward parking lot shot :)

  41. You are so beautiful! I am with you on finding good deals on the things I buy. From makeup to clothes to furniture to cars to our house. If the product is just as good, I'm all about buying it cheaper and not worrying about brand names. :)

    1. Don't get me wrong - I totally have name brand products too when I can't find a cheaper version that's just as good! I just prefer not to pay for a product that costs twice as much just because it's a brand.

  42. I totally appreciate this post! The frugal person in me is jumping for joy for such an entry because you seriously don't need top brand products to look good. I love all these products!

    Have a lovely weekend!

  43. Have you ever tried Nyx Studio Finishing Powder? It's great for hot and humid days and it's under $10.

  44. I still like using Loreal's Lineur Intense Felt Tip Eyeliner. I've tried a lot of ones that are way more expensive and ones that people rave about, but I haven't found another one that I liked that applies as easy than this one! :) I usually splurge on skincare since I have sensitive skin, but I'm pretty frugal when it comes to lipstick and eye make up.

  45. you are just too damn pretty! :) I also have a weird ass obsession with mascara --- I love it and rarely stick to one brand/type because I have to try them all!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Your hair looks so cute in those pictures! Did you get it cut or maybe it's just usually curled? Love it! I need to find some of the milani lipsticks-- they sound so nice and such a great price!
