This weekend I didn't do much, thankfully it meant I had extra time to read so that I would actually finish the challenge. The last two books I read were The Reader and You and I will be sharing my thoughts on those books in the next link up with Steph & Jana.
Here's my full, finished list:
1. A YA book - Through the Ever Night by Veronica Rossi {review}
2. Non US Author - Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty {review}
3. A book that was recommended by a blogger - Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta {review}
4. A book that has been on your TBR list for a year or more - The Reader by Bernhard Schlink
5. A book with a kickass female character - Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein {review}
6. A book that is or will be a movie (or TV show) - Paper Towns by John Green {review}
7. A book written by a celebrity Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? by Mindy Kaling {review}
9. A suspenseful book You by Caroline Kepnes
10. A book about Summer The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han {review}
Big thanks to Kay and Kari for being amazing co-hosts, not to mention my favourite group texting buddies. I hope you enjoyed participating in this challenge as much as we enjoyed hosting it. Thanks to everyone who participated, tweeted, instagrammed etc. It was a ton of fun and we loved following along. Here are some of the photos, in case you missed them.
You will need to link up below if you'd like your name to be drawn from the goblet of fire for the wildcard prize. We shall notify the winner next week. If you are not a blogger or don't want to link up, you can complete the form here.
Can't wait for the next challenge! Speaking of, if you have any ideas for categories, we would love to hear them!
You totally rocked that challenge girl! Glad you ladies had such a blast with it and can't wait to hear your next challenge!

ReplyDeleteyou ladies rocked it!! i read one book! but do audiobooks count? ;)
ReplyDeleteoooh fun! I finished! And I totally wrote this twice in my post... but THANK YOU for hosting. I was in a major rut, and I forgot how much reading makes life better. Sounds dumb, but it's so true, and I wouldn't be where I am right now (reading, making goals, having fun... ) without this challenge. :) I just got a few from your list on my Ipad from the library excited to read them! I love all of the pics from IG. I stopped checking the hashtag along the way, but it's awesome there were people using it! :) XO -Alexandra

Wow, you girls did a great job! I only read two books this summer which is so laughable. Trying to get better. You girls totally inspire me to read more.
ReplyDeleteYay one challenge down! So happy to have co-hosted with you too. Loved the instagram-ness I should have posted some on my own!
ReplyDeleteLook at you rocking the challenge!!!! I am not sure that I completed it. I will have to sit down and look at what I actually did read and see if anymore books fit in the four spots I had left since the last update. Oops.!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a super fun way to get to know people with common interests! Do you know of any yoga groups like this? Cause I'd join that in a quick second! And if you don't... You and I should think about creating one perhaps? Food for thought!
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! Can't wait for the next challenge you come up with... I can't wait until I am finished school and have more time to read books that aren't textbooks, and so I can get involved with reading challenges!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing all those instagram snaps. Ohhhhh I am so with Paige on her comment! I would be down for yoga groups like this!
ReplyDeleteThis was such a fun challenge. Loved the categories and being able to get these books off my TBR list and finally read.
ReplyDeleteYou rocked this gurlie as I knew you would! Loving all the pics of books with coffee or tea, one of my happy places! I'm in the middle of The Royal We right now, and can't put it down :)

ReplyDeleteGreat success for hosting such an awesome challenge! I saw I Capture The Castle in one of the pictures up there---loooooove that book!
ReplyDeletejust picked up code name verity from the library!!!!
ReplyDeleteSadly, I didn't complete all of my books BUT I really enjoyed the kick in the pants the challenge gave me to conquer my TBR list instead of just adding to it, LOL.
ReplyDeleteThanks for such a fun challenge this summer! :)
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe you got through so many books in a summer!! Whenever I get some down time I'll have to check out these books a little more thoroughly.
ReplyDeleteliz jo @ sundays with sophie

Loved the Instagram pictures! I didn't remember to post any or to look at them while the challenge was going on!
ReplyDeleteSo I didn't finish :( but still linked up anyway! This was so much fun and hopefully for the next one I won't get such a late start / maybe I'll actually finish a reading challenge. Can't wait to see the categories! When will the next one begin?
ReplyDeleteWooo, finished! This is the first book challenge with specific categories that I actually stuck to because I loved finding books in all these categories :) thanks for hosting! Hope there's another one soon!
ReplyDeleteWay to rock this challenge! Also, I love the little community this challenge created! Those Instagram posts are awesome!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking at all the lovely instagram posts, thinking to myself "I'm pretty sure I tagged an ig post or two with 'literary ladies'"...only to get to my mug at the end. Bahahahahaha!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI saw the movie The Reader years ago (because I love Kate Winslet!). I'm interested in hearing if you think I need to read the book.

ReplyDeleteMany people want to lose weight but do not know the right way to go about it; actually one needs only discipline and an understanding of the weight loss process to achieve the desired results. Misinformation may get you into trouble with your health even though you may lose some weight. Try the following pointers to lose some weight in a week.

It seems like "You" was very popular, I may have to add it to my TBR list! Loved this link up so much x
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great challenge, and you read a good selection of books. Maybe if I get my stuff together I'll be able to participate in the next one!
ReplyDeleteYeah. . . I didn't finish. I vow to finish one challenge in my lifetime. Someday it will happen! I just get so distracted by all of the pretty books that I didn't include on my list.
ReplyDeleteHow did you like The Reader? I read it a long time ago so don't remember too much about it but I know I didn't hate it.
ReplyDeleteI love how you added photos from IG in your post! That was such a lovely touch. Also, I really want to read You so I'm headed over to read your thoughts. Love, love, loved hosting this whole thing with you and cannot wait to do it again!! <33333
