Mellow Mushroom + Birthday Celebrations

I rarely do weekend recaps because I rarely have anything worth sharing, but today - I do. Saturday was Megsy's birthday so naturally we had to celebrate.

But first, we had to get ready, pre-game and take a silly amount of photos.

Megan's dress (thanks for everyone who helped with that!), my black dress, super cute wedges named Darcy no big deal and Sara's blue romper are all from Target. I really have hit or miss luck with Target clothes, but I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say all of our outfits are hits.

Doesn't look like Megan's dress is available in navy or wine online, but they are definitely in store. Ps. the ones available online are on clearance!

Have you ever eaten at Mellow Mushroom? We have a few locations in our city and were planning on going for Megan's birthday. On Thursday a very nice lady dropped off their catering menu and advised me of a new location in the Highlands which just so happens to be where the bars are located, what a coincidence! Obviously, she has no idea I'm a blogger, people just drop stuff off at work all the time. When I told her we were planning on going, she gave me 2 coupons (woo!). We had a couple of drinks and shared a cheese pizza, then we were off again.

After dinner, we headed to a bar and danced the night away. It was fabulous.

Quick fun story: almost 8 years ago, I got my first office job to replace an American girl. She had just been home for her 21st birthday and decided Australia wasn't for her anymore, she wanted to be back home. She seemed nice enough and I was sad we wouldn't get to become friends (what with my obsession with all things American).

She ended up choosing to stay in Australia, and though I am sorry she had to be homesick and stay with her awful boyfriend, I am (not-so) secretly selfishly glad that she stayed and attended my 21st birthday party a couple months later.

We became best friends almost instantly. 8 years later, she's still one of my very best friends. Many adventures and good times, I am so glad that you decided to stay in Oz and I'm extra glad we are currently in the same country. Happy 29th girl!

I'll be honest, I can't party like I'm 21 anymore. But it sure is fun to try (once or twice a year). Here's to the next 29, Megsy!
