Just wanted to check in with our summer reading challenge - I changed a few books from my original list but I only have 3 books left until I finish. Hey Kay, Kari - can I win that wildcard prize? Jk.
4. A book that has been on your TBR list for a year or more - The Reader by Bernhard Schlink -(215 pages)
5. A book with a kickass female character - Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein (I hope she's kickass) (441 pages)
9. A suspenseful book – a mystery, a thriller, a book about revenge! You by Caroline Kepnes (422 pages)
Please link up below if you'd like. You don't have to, but if you would like to win the wildcard prize, you will need to link up somehow on the 21st of Sept, which is a Monday in case you're wondering.
Have a good weekend!
Love the "y'all" at the beginning of your post. Spoken like a true Kentuckian! ;) Happy Friday to you and have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI got sidetracked from the challenge, but I have read some really good stuff lately! I really liked The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up!!! I'm going to give it a go with her principle of getting rid of everything that doesn't give you joy. Although I'm going to make exceptions for things like socks and toothpaste, joyful or not. ;-) I also finished The Martian, which was a total 5 star.
ReplyDeletewow you are kicking ass with this challenge!!!
ReplyDeleteI swapped two books out, one the last time which I already read and one still to read. I only have two to go as well. Lets see how fast I can finish haha
ReplyDeleteYay only three left!! So looking forward to finishing this challenge! It'll be the first of this kind of reading challenge I'll actually finish. xx - Heather @ My Little HEA
ReplyDeleteAt first I had like zero interest in 'You' but now I really really wanna check it out. Read it quick so you can tell me whether I should read it. Kthxbye <3
ReplyDeleteI'm a little envious you have time to read that many books over a summer! Seriously. I couldn't accomplish that in a year. At what age do my kids have to be before I have time for the luxury of reading again???
ReplyDeleteKilling it girl!!! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteGood work! You're so close to being done! I really gotta get in on one of these reading challenges whenever next one rolls around, it sounds like lots of fun :)
ReplyDeleteShould I read Paper Towns? Eh? Eh. Please make this decision for me, kthanks.
ReplyDeleteWow, girl you are so impressive with all that reading. I'm reading Voyager right now, it's the third book in the Outlander series. It's really good, so far it's my favorite one.
ReplyDeleteYou are rockin' it gurlie! I agree with Paige, I'm jealous you've had the time this summer to dive into all these great reads!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday <3
You go girl. I can't wait to see if your kick ass female character is indeed kick ass.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you're making some serious progress!! Good job :)

ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear what you think of Code Name Verity! :)
ReplyDeleteOooooooohh you're getting close...and YOU is on my list, too! xoxo B | The Sequin Notebook
ReplyDeleteTime to go whip up an unplanned Friday post! :)
ReplyDeleteI just need to finish one book and I am DONE! :)
I hope your kick ass character is indeed kickass. Mine was not as much as I'd hoped.
ReplyDeleteYou're doing great on the challenge! I have two left and thanks for the reminder about the finish date!
I have just 2 more to go. I am having a hard time getting a hold of one of mine. :(
ReplyDeleteWow great job and great list! I really need to check out Mindy Kaling's book! Dorrie @ Rt 1 US 1
ReplyDeleteEveryone is all I am almost done with my list!!! And I am all.....I am never going to finish it because I keep reading free books I get instead hahahah!
ReplyDeletei LOVE a good list that I can check off. Reading your reading list makes me happy!
ReplyDeleteLook at you go, girl - you're killin' it!
ReplyDeleteCode Name Verity is SO good and the characters are super kick ass. One of my favorite reads in the last few years. This is also a good reminder that I'm slacking a bit on my challenge - got to jump back on board! :)
ReplyDeleteGood job, girl! And can't wait to see what you think about You! Code Named Verity sounds so "up my alley"!
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to read some books by Jenny Han...the one you've listed looks good. Great job!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great list! I haven't read Paper Towns, but it's on my TBR list :)
ReplyDeleteI've had Code Name Verity on my to read list for a while. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on that one.
ReplyDeleteway to go! I'm always jealous of your readings - I just started a new heavy read so I need to do a bok post asap! Hope you enjoyed the weekend!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been linking up with check in posts mostly because I've been reviewing the books as I get through them for the Show Us Your Books! link-up. I'll definitely link up for the final check in, though!
ReplyDeleteI have 2 books left: Last Train to Babylon and, like you, You. (That last bit seemed really awkward, but I'll just go with it.) I was tempted to change some of my books around, but I decided to stick with my original list since I really wanted to read all of them.
you are kicking arse with the challenge! i read 4 mags over the weekend, does that count? hehe. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm slacking on this challenge, but mostly because I keep getting notices from the library that a different book I've been waiting for is now available so I jump on it so I don't lose my place in the hold queue. Still gunning for that wild card though!
ReplyDeleteOnly three left! You go girl!
