If you've ever been on the internet, I'm sure you've seen the maybelline instant age rewinder thingy. It's pretty darn popular. I know some people are not a fan but seriously - I have never used a product and actually seen enough of a difference and continuously bought it over and over again.
Like, you know how you guys have basics or staples that you stock up on or repurchase? Yeah, not me. I like the mascara I'm using but I'll most likely buy a different one and not even finish that one. I've changed my face makeup a bazillion times (mostly because they keep discontinuing stuff) and I still have eye shadow palettes from 2010 (I'm not throwing them out when I use them 5 times a year) so no need to repurchase them.
But this stuff? Lurrrve. Love. I. love. it. I have like 7 of them in my bathroom just in case they decide to discontinue it - wouldn't put it past maybelline. Grr. Anyway I feel like this product does wonders for me, it could all be in my head but if it is - let's leave it that way, okay?
I use the light one. I normally buy it from walgreens when they have it on sale or BOGO 50% off.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser |
Anyway. So let's pretend I'm a beauty blogger today. Stop laughing.
Warning - there are photos of me with no makeup on in this post. Also, the lighting isn't the greatest and I used my iPhone, so let's blame my odd yellow skin on that.
Here's what I look like with moisturiser, but that's it.
And to show you where I put the maybelline stuff, I made this handy diagram. I used to just put it under my eyes but then Megan put it all over so, you know, I trust her.
Then I blend it all, not rubbing it in but more like patting and then making sure it's all blended and I don't look like someone who threw some yellow paint on her face.
Ta-dah!
Ok, it's not mind blowing but it's better than nothing. I still have dark circles and bags, but they aren't going anywhere. Not even with red lipstick (yes, I tried it).
I swipe on some mascara - nothing crazy, just enough to make it look like I actually have lashes.
Again it's not a show stopper but it's enough that I look alive! Oh, and this is the mascara I am currently using. The bags seem to be more prominent when I smile and I'm not gonna stop smiling, so....
Just in case you wanted to see a side by side...
Now I know this can hardly be called a makeup routine, but there it is. That's what I do everyday. Sometimes if I'm feeling crazy I'll use bronzer and blush and actual face makeup - but it's honestly a little bit too much work for me for everyday. I normally workout in the morning and I'm not fast with makeup so it takes me like 30 minutes to do all that. This is fast and easy. If I wear a lot of makeup people at work ask me why I'm all dolled up. If I wear less than this, they ask me if I'm sick. So, you know. Middle ground?
I know some people can whip up their face in like 10 minutes, but that's not me, and I've never been one to wear a lot of makeup anyway. I think I look okay, and that's what matters, isn't it?
Are you a lover or a hater of the maybelline age rewind eraser?
Beautiful pics, you are too funny! You look flawless! I tried the instant age rewind, and the applicator kind of hurt. It may be time to try a new bottle.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday gurlie <3
i don't wear much makeup either so it takes me about 5mins to get my face ready: just concealer, sunscreen, eyeliner and i'm done :)
ReplyDeleteThis is my kind of makeup post - I swipe on mascara and then add lip gloss on the train most days so I'm right there with you. Looking marvelous darling!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
This is the kind of makeup post I can relate to! You still look like a normal, pretty, regular person. We pretty much have the same routine, except I always put on blush too (helps liven things up!) and if I'm feeling fancy (or... If I remember) I slap on some lipstick. If I'm going somewhere. No lipstick at home.
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't know what you're talking about, you look beautiful to me. AND brave, because most beauty bloggers still have a layer of concealer and foundation on when they start filming/taking pics!
If I could look like that with two products, I'd totally go for it. You are stunning! I have a pretty standard "quick face" routine that probably takes about 6 minutes (mascara probably takes me the longest...sigh). I've seen the maybelline stuff but have heard such mixed reviews. I think I'll grab it next time! I'm in the market for a new under eye concealer.
ReplyDeleteI have not even heard of this Maybelline stuff! (But I avoid makeup blogs etc. because I don't want the temptation and I already have most of my tried and true products.) But it looks amazing and easy to use so I am picking some up next time I'm in Target!! Glad you decided to be a beauty blogger for a day.
ReplyDeleteI have the same concealer and use it when I feel my bags aren't as "baggy" haha. You look great with just two products!
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried that concealer yet but everyone loves it. I so need to try it. You look fantastic with just wearing two products. I would need like ten. ha! have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI am pretty lazy with my makeup routine too. I use the neutrogena hydro blast stuff to moisturize and then the maybelline BB Cream to smooth out my skin tone. Finish with mascara. Takes all of 2 minutes. I've never used the age rewind stuff.. I'll have to try it out :)

I only use 2 products a day as well. I have used Bare Minerals foundation for years. But my everyday routine is my Bare Minerals foundation and CoverGirl mascara ... 5 minutes and done!
ReplyDeleteYou're beautiful with and without those two products or any others, and as long as you feel happy with the face you're wearing that's the only damn thing that matters. <3
ReplyDeleteI skip makeup more often than not lately, because I've been late to work every day. It's bad enough being late, but I feel extra guilty when I'm late and obviously spent time on my outfit or face! When I actually do something, it's usually eyeliner and shadow. I skip the mascara because I'm really bad about picking it off throughout the day (and removing eyelashes in the process!).
ReplyDeleteI LOVE LOVE LOVE that Maybelline product. My dark circles are RIDICULOUS... this sort of just makes them look semi dark instead of sickly dark :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the intro. You're gorg and it looks like a bit of a highlighter too!
ReplyDeleteAs for me, I'm a blush and mascara girl all the way :)
ReplyDeleteif I ever walk into work without mascara on I get asked if I'm feeling ok. every time. I just use mascara right now but maybe i'll give this maybelline stick a try
ReplyDeleteSuper pretty!! Isn't it amazing what a good base will do?
ReplyDeleteI love your pics, you're so pretty! I just did a 5 min face guest post for a friend and our pics are similar ;) LOVE that concealer, but I use the brightening shade under my eyes. It's a great one!
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried it yet. I think you look gorgeous either way. I do not look good without makeup so I use it, but I try to keep it under 5 minutes!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't ever used this product. I started switching to green options in college, so I'm all natural makeups now. I love the ones I use, but have a concealer that I use for the same purposes as your rewind eraser product. :) I have a lot more steps than this, but not an unbearable amount. Sadly, I still have some genetic acne lingering... ugh.... But overall I like to keep it pretty simple. Love how easy it is for you!! XO -Alexandra

What a big difference it makes! I will have to check out that product. I find Maybelline makes great makeup for an affordable price. I love their masacaras the best.
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Omg I love this!!! I've heard so many people rave about that concealer! I think it's time I give it a try! You look so pretty! Have a great weekend!

wow that is fast!! and you look lovely!
ReplyDeleteGirl you are GORGEOUS without makeup! I have dark circles under my eyes too. No matter what I do I can't get rid of them. And seriously, your skin is flawless, unfair!!

Nice! Seems to work well! That's the one thing about aging and my face...the darkness creeping up under my eyes. I won't leave home without undereye concealer on so I need to try this stuff!
ReplyDeletelove this!! i bought that concelear and then after i opened it (before i got to use it once!!) i dropped it on the bathrm floor where my husband sprayed for bugs :( FAIL. i threw it away

Um right now I am eating a jelly sandwich at how beautiful your skin is with no make up. Liiiiiike I might start filtering my work out selfies to you so you dont see how awful mine is lately! Haha! I love age rewind and its what I buy over and over as well. I just bought my sister some too! I am that serious about it! What kind of skin care routine do you do? Clearly I am doing it wrong!
ReplyDeleteGirl you have the most amazing skin!! It's flawless - you don't even need makeup. I've heard SO much about this concealer so I think it's finally time I try it out myself!
ReplyDeleteSeriously love that stuff. I use the brightening one and it makes all the difference especially when I'm not doing a full face day!
ReplyDeleteHow have I not tried this product yet?! And seriously, your skin is glowing (with and without the makeup).
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of trying a Walgreens product because $40 for foundation is a bit steep. You look great with only 2 items of makeup on...its funny, I find myself wearing less and less make up these days, I'm down to 4 products and I only line the inside of my lower eyelids so I feel like that should count as a 1/2. 3.5 products :)
ReplyDeleteI know I already said this on IG but seriously you are gorgeous without makeup! I'm lucky if I look that good WITH makeup on. Also every time you post a picture recently it just makes me think how much I love your darker hair! I've been thinking about going dark again but I just can't decide.
ReplyDeleteOk I have plans to do one of these (I even have it in draft) and you just gave me the inspiraton. Im always so nervous for posts like these. Anyway as to your post, I love a simple makeup routine like yours and just for the record you look gorgeous with and without makeup!
ReplyDeleteI've heard really good things about the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser so I'll have to actually try it now! You look great - thanks for sharing. - Svetlana @ Life with a Side of Wine
ReplyDeleteI've never used this product. Maybe I should.
ReplyDeleteMy every day makeup routine is eye makeup and moisturizer with some lip balm. I do love my red lip gloss but almost never wear it. I don't go anywhere and it seems a bit much for staying home.
This is the best make up routine post ever. I'm going to have to try that stuff out! And you're beautiful with or without the makeup. :)
ReplyDeleteStrangely enough, I still haven't given in to a makeup routine. (Actually, I can't remember the last time I wore makeup...) But that will likely have to change soon, and this looks like something simple and quick enough I could make myself do it. Though I'm not sure how mascara or any other eye stuff would look with the thick glasses lenses. Thanks for sharing with us! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky that you're gorgeous with just a little bit of makeup! I always wear about 9 different items on my face every single day! But I've gotten it down to where it only takes me about 10 minutes. But I have been trying to cut back lately, and just go with foundation, powder, blush and mascara. Oh, and eyebrow powder, because my eyebrows are non existent.
ReplyDeleteI love your idea of being a beauty blogger for a day! :)
You look beautiful! So impressed you only wear two products. I've never really mastered make-up. I didn't even know people really do massive highlighting/concealing everyday for make-up before I saw it on pinterest. I thought that was only done for stage make-up :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously, you are just the cutest. That second picture made me legit "aww" out loud (AOL? Ha!). I haven't used that Maybelline product but then again most drugstore concealers don't come in a wide enough range for me to find a good shade. Although I know a lot of people who love it... Most days, I keep my makeup pretty minimal - concealer (because dark circles, yo!), eyebrow pencil, lots of mascara and a lip product. And some days, a bit of eyeliner.
ReplyDeleteOh and as for covering up dark circles, it's doable, but not with red lipstick. Red should only be used if you are like really deep in complexion, it's too dark for me as well. I have stubborn dark circles, partly heredity and partly, I'm convinced, a leftover from sleepless law school nights, and I use a dark orange concealer to cover them up. I'd say you should try a yellow concealer.
That concealer is the BEST! You always look natural, fresh and pretty-faced. Thanks for sharing your routine ;)
ReplyDeleteSoooo jealous of how flawless your skin is without makeup! I have to admit to liking that stuff a little bit better now- I don't think I was using enough of it when I first started using it-- hence why it wasn't doing anything, haha.
ReplyDeleteI wish my makeup routine was that easy! I have a lot of scars from acne so I put foundation all over. It doesn't take me long to finish though... total maybe 10-15 minutes max? Not that bad!

You have such gorgeous skin! I really wish I could just go with concealer and some mascara. I have really bad, dark circles and some discoloration so I feel too self conscious to not wear foundation. I've used this concealer before and found that it works better in the summer when I feel like I need less makeup.
ReplyDeleteI have terrible under eye circles because of my seasonal allergies and the age rewind concealer is the best product I've found for covering them. I had seen the hype about using red lipstick and have been meaning to try it - glad I saw this before I wasted my time!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of that product and now you've got me all wanting to stop what I'm doing (which is nothing anyways lol) and go buy some! I think you look fabulous with only 2 products! I'm with you.. I only wear 4 things on a day to day basis because a-I'm lazy and b-I just don't wear much makeup. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat post!!
ReplyDeleteskin brightener cream by Revitol gives me glowing, radiant and spotless skin, with natural ingredients in it.Its amazing...
This sounds like my sort of makeup routine. Quick, easy, and it turns out great.
