Just another round of talking shit.

So I'm a day late and a dollar short, but I felt like being a rebel and posting my 'confession-ish / thoughts' post today. Cause I can.

Remember sling? Still digging it, but it has made me quite a bit less productive, because I get home and sit on my butt watching HGTV all night. I think they got new channels recently, but I wouldn't know because I literally only watch HGTV.
I am ridiculously excited about Pride, Prejudice and Zombies the movie. Mainly because Matt Smith will be in it (as Mr Collins nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo) but also because Lena Headey. Wait, Sam Riley is Mr Darcy? What the actual fuck.

Darcy:

This guy:

Anyway Lily James is my home girl, Lizzie. I haven't even read the book yet, but I will because Pamela told me to, and also because books before movies like bros before hoes and uteruses before duderuses etc etc. Also, because Lily James. Girl is faaaabulous.

WAIT A MINUTE, ARE MATT SMITH AND LILY JAMES DATING? IS THIS REAL LIFE? DID YOU RUB MY LAMP? DID YOU WAKE ME UP? DID YOU BRING ME HERE? I shouldn't care but I do. That is odd. I feel like that is odd, because Lily James was in Cinderella with Richard Madden (swoooooon) and Richard Madden is dating Jenna Louise Whatsherface who was in Doctor Who with Matt Smith (can she be gone now PLEASE), and I think I am thinking about this a little bit too much, what do you think? Here's a picture 'cause I'm odd.

WTF are you wearing, Lily James?

When does Cinderella come out? I WANT TO GO THERE. Cinderelly, Cinderelly, night and day it's Cinderelly, make the fire, fix the breakfast, Wash the dishes, do the mopping... ahem.

Richard Madden can be Mr Darcy thank you please.
OH MY GOSH IT COMES OUT ON FRIDAY* BUT I CAN'T WATCH IT BECAUSE I WILL BE FLYING AND THEN IN DC and I doubt Tracy and Alyssa want to see it, gosh darn it RnR you are RUINING EVERYTHING. Obviously jk'ing. It's ok, I'll see it when I get back. Hmm... to drag KC or Megan?

*the movies near my house are showing times for tonight. Hmm late night solo movie date?

Has anyone ever thought 'I call bullshit on the whole glass slipper fitting?' I mean, there are a zillion women in the world, and probably a thousand in the movie, so there is no way Cinderella's foot is the ONLY one that fits the damn slipper. NO WAY. Plus, if it fit so damn perfectly, why did it fall off?? hmmmm? Riddle me that, Disney. Riddle. Me. That.

Also, her dress seemed to change colour. White and then blue. Don't tell me you see black and blue.

I realise I have spent far too much time talking about Cinderella.

Speaking of Cinderella, I am curious to see if Pitch Perfect 2 will be as awesome as the first. I really enjoyed the first one.

The other day someone called the office and said 'beautiful accent' to which I awkwardly said thank you (what am I supposed to say?) and then he said 'ohsseee?' which I understand is how most people think Aussie is pronounced (it's pronounced Ozzy like Ozzy whatshisface) to which I said yes. Then he said, 'you know, people think you can tell the difference between an Ohseeee, a Kiwi and a Brit, but you can't!' and at first I was like did he get his can and can't mixed up? So I said 'you can tell the difference or you can't?' and he said 'I can! But other people can't!' and I was just like.... okie dokie then.

I still have no idea what I am packing / wearing this weekend, but I have Europe sorted out. Priorities.

I really don't like the video for Style. I watched the shake it off and blank space videos obsessively a few times but I just watched this one once and eh.

I don't listen to the radio much, but the other day I heard two songs that I liked - Sugar by Maroon 5 (don't judge, I don't really like them but it's so damn catchy) and then an Ed Sheeran song and I was like wtf this is Ed Sheeran? Dude can sing!! Then I watched the video.

Twas a bit odd. He's still a 'ranga. Just kidding, just kidding, I wish I had lovely red or orange hair.

Ok, I'm done. Bye Felicias! Wish me luck running 13 miles on Saturday, I can handle the .1 on my own.

Should I listen to Pride & Prejudice or To Kill A Mockingbird during the race? Help!

  1. HAHAHAHAHA OMG I love this post. And I totally love that you call Ed Sheeran out for being a 'ranga. Ok, he totally is but still. Can we post all about him on Sorry 'Ranga Day? And I had no idea Lily James was playing Lizzy! Totally intrigued now! Have fun in DC tomorrow girl!

  2. Holy hell, was this post funny! And you quoted Aladdin which makes it extra awesome.

Confession--I don't know who those people that you mentioned are.

Good luck at the marathon. And with picking out clothes for it.

  3. I *love* that Sugar song, despite the fact that my boyfriend Adam Levine can sing like an octave higher than I can. #manvoiceproblems

Good luck this weekend! I would say "have fun," but that just doesn't seem possible. :)

  4. I have no idea what you are talking about the first part of the post but I got the Aladdin reference so you win!! Agree with Ed Sheeran boy can sing.

  5. 1. "uteruses before duderuses" LOL.
    2. I mos DEF feel the same about Cinderella. Even as a kid, I had questions. "Lots of people have MY same shoe size, so..."
    3. Style is my favorite song on the album and that video was not at all what I was hoping for. You've saddened us all, T-Swift (the song's still bomb, though).

  6. lol you're hilarious :) i hope you find someone to go see Cinderella with! i love love lily james too... great casting! i cant wait to see pitch perfect 2! hope that one comes out soon! xo jillian - cornflake dreams

  7. Hahaha I love your little "rants" and I totes agree on Ed Sheeran..minus the wantin to have red hair, NEVER! lol Love that song though :) Good luck this weekend, although you won't need it, you're a super running star!

  8. The title of your post had be laughing out loud, too funny! Sometimes just a random post is exactly what you need. I'm so bummed to miss you because um, we totally would have gone to see Cinderelly! I am so excited for the movie, Lily James is so amazing. I've loved her since she first appeared in DA.

Can I just tell you HOW stoked I was when I saw your Genie reference? I say that line sometimes and people just look at me like I"m cray, which I am, but they don't know it! BUT YOU DOOO!!!!

  9. I didn't understand the whole first part of this post (just being honest! LOL!) But you're speaking my language with the music videos. Oh yes, Ed can sing! I've been watching his covers on YouTube (like Dirrty and No Diggity) and his voice and talent are amazing. Have you watched the video for Sugar? I thought it all looked staged (all the people at the weddings were extremely good looking...) but apparently it was real and only the grooms were in on it!

  10. Ok I have so many feelings about this post I don't know even where to start. First of all, another Pride and Prejudice movie WHAT?? With Lily James?? OMG OMG OMG How did I not know this? But seriously, Matt Smith as Mr. Collins?? What the? Of course that would probably be a really fun part to play, but I feel like whoever plays Mr. Collins should always be just kind of doltish (is that a word?) and dumpy and annoying, which he is so not! And that guy as Mr. Darcy? I don't know anything about him, but he doesn't look like a Darcy to me. I WANT TO SEE CINDERELLA TOOO! If we lived close I would totally go see it with you! Ok, I think I'm done. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  11. Oh YEAH! And I luuurve Sugar, such a fun song! And that Ed Sheeran song is my jam! Ok, now I'm done for real.

  12. So much Disney in one post! I looooooove it!! And I love Lily James -- she's amazing. ::swoon:: -- I am so glad she gets to be Cinderella -- I mean, what girl doesn't want to be Cinderella??!

    ReplyDelete
  13. CINDERELLA! I am so excited about this movie!

Also... Ed Sheeran. Swoon! I love that song. The music video is a bit strange, but the song? Be still my heart!

  14. You are making me so jealous with all the HGTV watching. I have to watch it on my laptop which never happens because I'm always on my laptop! I know, such a big problem to have, right!? And I LOVE the new Ed Sheeran song. They play it constantly on every radio station I listen to and I don't mind a bit. And I agree, Disney needs to answer a lot of questions about Cinderella. I'll just link to the buzzfeed article

  15. Haha awkward music video! I had to quickly scroll past it so it doesn't ruin the song for me. It's his only song I realllly like. Cinderella is going to be straight MAGICAL and I cannot wait to have a glass of wine at the theater and enjoy that one ;)

    ReplyDelete
  16. omg haha you totally lost me with the Lily James and Matt Smith talk-- mainly because I have no idea who Matt Smith is... is that bad? But I do love Lily and she looks so gorgeous with dark hair! I'm not usually a big movie person, but Cinderella does look sooo good. Not sure what PP & Zombies is about, and definitely not sure about that choice for Mr. Darcy either.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I CAN'T WAIT FOR CINDERELLA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am going to take my girls!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Uteruses before duderuses?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I'm the only woman in the world who switches the radio ASAP when that Ed Sheeran song comes on. Why is he so lame and cheesy, Ellie G cheated on him! Stop making music for the sake of Top 40, bro.

To end on a positive, Lily is a gorg brunette! I've only seen her blonde in Downton, which she is still stunning in, but brunette for the win, for sure!

  19. Is it weird that I can almost hear you saying this post out loud - you are hilarious!!! I think I might be the only person that doesn't want to see Cinderella...i like disney cartoon way better lol! xo, Biana - BlovedBoston

  23. I don't even know who any of those actor/actress people are I don't think, BUT I totally get loving when peeps are a couple and stuff. Listen to P&P. I can't wait to see Cinderella! Hoping mom and I can go this weekend. I kind of did a confession'ish post today too.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I'm DYING to see Cinderella... but your questions have me in deep thought :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Okay, I gotta be honest, most of the first half of this was like a foreign language to me. BUT I do really want to see Cinderella, but I'm really bad at actually seeing movies in theaters so I probably won't see it until it's on Netflix. Also, that guy sounds like a loon. Also also, I love Maroon 5 and I love that song and I love Ed Sheeran and I love that song. SEE YOU TOMORROW OKAY DYING BYE OMG OMG OKAY bye

    ReplyDelete
  26. So I googled Sam Riley and I agree - a Darcy he is not. But then again, if there's zombies and undead dystopian stuff going on, then maybe he makes sense. Like Darcy gone goth?

The slipper question is a really good point! HOW did it fall off? And why didn't it revert to rags when everything else did? Did the movie explain that?

I've never heard uteruses before duderuses! That is hysterical!!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I love Ed Sheeran. I haven't heard the Maroon Five song. I hope it's not a lot of high pitched Adam. I can't deal.

I definitely say Aw-see. Good to know it's Oz-zy. You are upping my Australia game A LOT. Hopefully this will help me in Trivia Crack. hahaha

  33. Why do I write a novel of a comment to have my phone freeze and refresh?! Ughhhhhh but yeah I'm so excited for Cindarella!! I'm debating if I should go with girlfriends or torture my husband into a date night! So excited for pitch perfect 2 also!! I was weirdly in love with the first one! I've been meaning to look up the Ed Sheern video forever!! I'm doing that now!

  35. OMG how did I never realize that the shoe fell off when it was supposed to be such a perfect fit?! Mind. Blown. !

    ReplyDelete
  36. HAHAHA!! Where to start?

I'm so excited to see Cinderella but I have no one to see it with either!! I'm not sure if Zack will see it with me, if not then I'm going solo.

I read P&P&Zombies forever ago. I have the book and the graphic novel, lol.

Do you watch Downton Abbey? Lily James is in the more recent seasons :)

    ReplyDelete
  37. I saw a little clip of the new Cinderella movie during The Bachelor - it looks cute.
I loved Pitch Perfect and think the 2nd one will be entertaining for sure!!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. They could not have picked a worse Mr. Darcy. Collin Firth will always be Mr. Darcy to me, though.
I'm going to see Cinderella on Saturday for my birthday! It was my favorite movie when I was little. I couldn't even say it. Just "Rella!"
Also, I'm curious about Pitch Perfect 2, also. My husband and I loved the first one!

  39. Hello, randomness! You know what? I love randomness!

You know what I get all the time? Are you Canadian or American? Ok, they border each other. So, it's a little better than Aussie, Brit, or Kiwi. But. I am from probably the furthest state from Canada (except Hawaii or the southern tip of Florida). I'm Texan. Texans don't exactly sound Canadian.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Hahaha love these kinds of posts! And so much Disney talk - you really made me laugh with your Riddle. Me. That comment about Cinderella's shoe! So glad you asked the question though because seriously, if it was so darn perfect why'd it fall off?!?!? Have a wonderful weekend and I'm wishing you all the luck for the run, although I doubt you'll need it! You'll do great! Xx Carly

  41. Great post! I so want to see Cinderella too. It looks so fantastic. I mean those shoes!!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Oh my god. You are hilarious and have me cracking up over here!! Love this post. I'm dying to see Cinderella and have already put in my request twice for the hubs to take me. We'll see how that goes. I don't really like Maroon 5 either, but Yes to Sugar! So catchy. Hope you have a good weekend and good luck with your race!!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Pride, Prejudice, and Zombies! WTH!! I need that in my life! Somehow the dress changing colors in Cinderella slipped right passed me and now I don't know how to live life anymore. You have a great point about her shoe falling off... how does that happen?

    ReplyDelete
  44. I had to watch that gif like 10 times.....wait her dress was white.....when did it turn blue? I am still not sick of that Ed Sheeran song even though it is on all the time......it's just so sweet!

  45. I watch ways too much HGTV. Aside from Thursdays nights and Sundays ... my TV is predominantly on HGTV especially at night. I love it all!

Also CINDERELLLLLY!!!! Why am I such a Disney freak. I want to see it so bad! And as for the dress change colour - no lie as a kid i TOLD MY SISTER THAT!! But Im the freak that sees random things in movies like change of scenes etc. I notice everything!

I really love HGTV but Chris does not. I have hardly watched any since moving in with him. I miss House Hunters!!! Good luck on your race this weekend!!!!!!!!

  49. Seriously!! This post has me laughing out loud!! LOVE!! Can't wait to see Cinderella!! Good luck with the race!! EEEKKK...can't wait to hear all about it!!

  50. Ok so don't hate me. I really like the casting for this Pride, Prejudice and Zombies thing. Now granted I haven't read the book yet (but I will, books before movies erryday!) but I like Matt Smith as Collins because I never saw Collins as unattractive just really weird. Also, I really like Sam Riley so him as Darcy is more than a-okay in my book.
Which brings me to -- has anyone ever told you that you kind of resemble Lily James? Not like majorly, I don't think I'd mistake you for her or anything, but you kind of look alike.
And no judgement for the Maroon 5. I'm not ashamed to say that I pretty much LOVE any song they've ever released. Right now, Sugar and Maps are my JAM.
Also, thanks for teaching me to pronounce Aussie. Although I can't say I'm glad it's in anyway related to the crazy man :)

  52. I love reading these stream-of-consciousness posts of yours because it makes me feel like I have company in the "my thoughts are all over the place" department :-)

I'd listen to To kill a mockingbird during the race P&P is more exciting (and distracting) IMO :-)

And Richard Madden, yes please, I'd take him as a prince in any movie! (And seriously, WTF is she wearing in that pic? His outfits is great though.)

    ReplyDelete
  53. Have you been drinking? LOL!! This post had me grinning :) This was a fun little change up on a post. I however was not sure of many of the people you referenced so it was hard for me to feel full outraged, but I was just a little in sympathy ;)

  54. I hope your run went well! :) I'm with you, I want to see Cinderella! :)

    ReplyDelete
  55. I've never heard "uteruses before duderuses" before but I kind of love it!
In the original Cinderella story, the prince had the stairs covered in pitch, which is what her shoe stuck to and made her leave it behind.
    Hope your race went well!

  56. Also, Douglas Booth is in the movie and he's not bad looking AT ALL :D I think he plays Bingley?

  59. Did you see Cinderella yet??? And what an odd conversation! HA! Dealing with the public can be SOO weird sometimes!

  60. I hope your race went well!! I forgot about p&p&z. Yay. That made my day better. Maybe that's just a stunningly awful picture of that guy. Maybe he's really hot... in the right... light... ? I dunno. Lily James is super cute. I loved Cinderella, had to wait to see it with my sisters who were both on fabulous vacations.. but it was worth the wait. So funny to see Rob Stark from GOT as prince charming. Bet that was quite the whiplash going from one to the next. :) Hope you got to see Cinderella it was cute and now I am not patiently waiting for Beauty and the Beast which doesn't come out until 2017.. (weeps). I used to be pretty adamant that i didn't like Ed Sheeran at all. But his upbeat tunes swayed me and now this song is adorable... and I love it. And what in the world is he doing in this video.. lol. Now I'm majorly loving Vance Joy (an Aussie!) (who says ohseeeee anyway??) who is now touring with t-swift. I thought I would never get to see him do a full set, but our alt. station here booked him for Prom. A concert where you have to dress up like prom. Seriously, but the show is free. We're taking friends... and I will just die of happiness as he sings and sings.:) Xo -Alexandra
