1. What is your favorite holiday?
Used to be Christmas. I still like the idea of Christmas, but it's not as special without my family. I really like celebrating St Paddy's. I just discovered I'll be out of town for the St Paddy's parade that we have gone to 4 years in a row and I was pretty upset. So we're gonna have a party instead.
2. If you could spend a week by yourself (no travel companion, just you) anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Sydney. I'd eat all the food and do all the things.
Wardrobe. Now, what I mean by that is if I could magically have a wardrobe full of clothes I genuinely love and would wear, and got rid of all the useless crap, that would be fabulous. It doesn't have to be chanel and louboutins or a full on fancy walk in closet, I just want a few staple pieces I love, without having to continue buying things only to find out I don't like them, if that makes sense.
4. Do you blog most often during the day or at night?
A bit of both. Mainly the day, I think. Weekends mostly.
5. Coffee or Tea?
Tea for life! Hot tea, not cold. Coffee is blecch to me. You can keep it.

Keep Instagram fo sho. What would I do without my selfies?
7. Bath or Shower?
Bath.
Mary Poppins will always have a special place in my heart because it was the very first play I ever saw. The Lion King was very good, and we saw Wicked and The Nutcracker when we were in NYC and they were both amazing.
9. Cats or Dogs?
Gee, I don't know.
That being said, I love dogs too. Cats just a smidgen more.
10. You kill an hour in front of your television. You watch reality tv, a drama, a documentary, a comedy?
Doctor Who, but I would always choose a book first.
11. Do you dance, sing, or play a musical instrument?
I dance and sing but not well. Not in public that's for sure. I played the recorder and triangle in primary school, do they count?
1. If you could change one thing in your past what would it be.
I wouldn't change anything to be honest. I don't believe things happen for a reason but I do believe I made the choices I made and I am here because of it, and I like here. However, if I could - I would have taken better care of my teeth when I was younger, especially after yesterdays torture.
2. What is your go to comfort food?
Just food. Food makes me happy. But I guess when I'm sad, I go for chips. Or milkshakes. Or nachos. Or ice cream. Or fries. Or gluten. Yeah, probably gluten.
3. What was the last book you read?
The Jessica Darling Series - read it! It's awesome. Like, no really. Awesome. I am currently up to book 4 and cannot wait to finish.
4. Do your close friends/family know about your blog?
My husband and best friend know. My best friend found out accidentally, and she is totally gonna guest post soon - get ready! I also just recently (like last week) told my other best friend, she's an avid blog reader and I was super nervous but she couldn't have been more supportive and awesome and just all around fabulous.
5. What is your dream job?
I don't have one, I enjoy what I do. My degree is in HR and I wouldn't mind working in HR, but really 'dream job' would be reading books for a living. Good books though, not crappy ones.
6. Best thing about being a blogger?
The community, duh.
7. Twitter or Instagram?
Instagram gets two votes! I still barely understand Twitter.
8. Favourite show to binge watch?
Binge watching is my favourite method of watching any show because I am impatient and don't like to wait. I'd say Doctor Who, Friends, Gilmore Girls, Downton Abbey and Grey's Anatomy though.
9. If you could visit with anyone dead or alive who would it be?
My Nana. Or Jane Austen.
10. Who is your celebrity crush?
I really like Keira Knightley. I know, judge away.
11. Why did you start your blog?
I was lonely. It was shortly after I had decided to stay in the US so even though I had KC and friends, I didn't get closure from my old life. I never expected to stay, I didn't realise that the last time I saw my family would be the last time, or the last time I had a milkshake or meat pie would be the last time... Of course it wasn't the last time, but it was still hard to suddenly have this piece of me missing and I felt a little like I didn't belong - even though I always felt the other way, out of place in Aus, home in KY. Can't win with me. The blog helped me settle in my new life, talk about my old life, and make new friends that were all mine.
I'm not gonna do the nominating jazz, if you want to do it please do! Do all the questions, or whichever ones you'd like!
Are recorders a thing here? Have you read The Jessica Darling Series yet?!
That tea time gif is so cute!!
ReplyDeleteWhat's your favorite Dr. Who season? I've tried to start the series twice now and I thought maybe I should skip around…
ReplyDeletei'm so glad that no one IRL knows about my new blog!! it just feels so weird when people i know read it/know about it.
ReplyDeleteOh my god, the Jessica Darling series!!! I didn't know there was more, sloppy first was my favorite book when I was younger, definitely downloading the rest of the series! This seriously just made my day ha.
ReplyDeleteWhat's wrong with Keira Knightley? She's one of my favorites. The triangle! I remember laboring to learn hot cross buns on the recorder. I actually just dropped off my sister's elementary school recorder at Goodwill, along with some other music-related stuff I finally decided it was time to let go. That is one thing I know I will not want in the future
ReplyDeletei loved learning more about you! i had to hit uptake as bakery a few weeks ago for my meatpie fix!!
ReplyDeleteHot tea for the win.
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree with Keira Knightley I love her!
Thanks for answering the questions even though you were already nominated! I love Mary Poppins as well and can watch it over and over and over again! The Jessica Darling series looks pretty interesting. I may need to start reading that serious when I finish the books I'm on now.
ReplyDeleteLOL at your answer to the "Dog or cat?" question! My sister-in-law/one of my best friends just found my blog and I thought she would be so weirded out but she really wasn't (and she's not really the type of person to judge anyway haha).
ReplyDeleteLove these posts! I prefer a bath to a shower too, is there anything more relaxing than a hot bath?? I want to read that Jessica Darling series, I've heard great things about it! And YES, pretty much all food is comfort food to me! :)
ReplyDeleteI am totally into the Jessica Darling series - so fun to read along as she grows throughout the books! I am so excited for your BFF's guest post, and happy for you that breaking the blog news to another friend went so well - you're slowly coming out of the blog closet! :)
ReplyDeleteI love reading these posts. It's fun getting to know everyone a little better.
ReplyDeleteRecorders are totally a thing here. I cannot remember what grade, but I remember them. I think I can still play Mary Had a Little Lamb on one. ;)
I just added the Jessica Darling series to my reading list. I had never heard of it before.
I love your answer to the dogs or cats question haha I tried watching Doctor Who but didn't get into it. but I only watched the first episode so MAYBE I will give it another try.

Do all the questions I shall!! Seriously with the recorder...it doesn't even sound good! That being said I could probably still knock out hot cross buns if ya handed me one haha. So many of the answers I was like "it's meeee!!!"
ReplyDeleteChecking out the Darling series. Instagram is my favorite too! I can see why Keira would be your choice, she's fabulous. I mean didn't she play in the P & P movie?!
ReplyDeleteLOL, yes, recorders are a thing here! And I can't believe you are saying you don't "get" Twitter. You are all up in it! I started a secret pinboard to pin your book recommendations from now on so I can keep track of them since I am officially reading again. :)
ReplyDeleteYour favorite plays are mine too especially Wicked! I'd definitely pick a dream house and hope it came with dream furnishings too :)
ReplyDeleteRecorders are a thing here. Man I hated them. Lololol all the cats. :) I wish I did more for St. Patrick's day. Was thinking of having a party this year too. :) We are usually out of town for spring break / a trip at that time, so we spend it in New Mexico or Texas or something. St. Patrick's Day isn't much of a thing in New Mexico by the way... who knew? XO -Alexandra
ReplyDeleteSimply Alexandra: My Favorite Things
You're my book guru and I'm not sure why I haven't read that series yet - but I'm downloading it now!!! I would keep instagram too - pretty pictures please!! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the Jessica Darling series yet, but I've heard good things about it. I'll have to check it out :)
ReplyDeleteSarah
Midwest Darling
i still can't get over you as a blonde!! and you can have the tea. give me all the coffee!!
ReplyDeletehahah love this! we had to play the recorder in grade school too...it was terrible!!! i really wish i saw the mary poppins play -- my friend loved it so much she cried ;) xo jillian - cornflake dreams
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to get into this Jessica Darling series -- I've heard everyone talking about it! Haha, and yes, recorders!! Had them in music class in elementary school! Because you totally need to know how to play those things for real life.
ReplyDeleteId go to Sydney too and roam and roam and roam. Loved the pic collage answer to cats or dogs hahaha ... clearly you're biased!! And my blog is pretty secret too maybe one day Ill tell the world ... but Ill have to delete any conspicuous posts first lol
ReplyDeleteOMG, the recorder! I had to learn how to play one of those stupid things too! I mean, seriously, how was our education bettered for that?!
ReplyDeleteAnd can we all agree to just delete facebook now? IG and Twitter fo life!
Just requested Sloppy Firsts.
ReplyDeleteI was pissed that I had to take music classes.
I liked these questions and answers. So glad your BFFs know about your blog. It's much more fun that way!
St. Paddy's Day is my birthday! It is a super fun holiday and my fave, too!
ReplyDeleteTea and Instagram for the win! Loved this. Can't wait for your friends guest posts - that's such a good idea! Barely any of my friends now about my blog, it's just such an awkward topic to bring up. Do you just be like "oh by the way, I have a blog" ?! So weird!
ReplyDeleteLOVED learning more about you. I love Kiera, too. She's so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I wish I didn't like coffee- but I've been drinking tea more and more so maybe I'll eventually switch over. I laughed (and loved) your cat collage! I love Keira too, I think if I had to pick anyone to play me in a movie it would be her!
ReplyDeleteHaha all the cat pics! And yeah, Twitter & Facebook can be gone, Insta lover for life.
ReplyDeleteI had the recorder stint in elementary school. I didn't know they made you do that in Oz, too! Hooray for spreading the confusion of recorder-relevance worldwide! Also, I squealed for 15 minutes as I closely examined every single cat picture in this post. Yeah. Sh** is serious out here.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness I love this! I seriously busted out laughing reading your answer to cats or dogs! I love that cat collage! I really want to read the Jessica darling series now! I started yes please and it's so boring! I'm debating if I want to still give it a chance. Did you read it yet?
ReplyDeleteLove the cat pics. I am a cat hoarder. I think that sounds better than crazy cat lady. My daughter had to learn to play the recorder in 3rd grade. I thought that was kinda cool since I played the clarinet and its pretty close.
ReplyDeleteThat recorder meme had me BUST OUT!!!!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of anyone say St. Patty's day before... I do love me some green.
I always say -I would love for my life to be a Broadway play... I randomly break out into song & dance anyways :) Just want others to join me.
I am liking hot tea more and more everyday. Instagram all day every day. If only we could get paid to read all day!
ReplyDeleteLet me know if you ever figure out how to read books for a living. And also, I mailed a package to a friend in Sydney yesterday - it made me think of you!
ReplyDeleteOmg. Is the parade the weekend of RnR? Because I'm just now realizing that the parade I usually go to is probably that weekend too! Can I come to your party?? And also, because it bears repeating, I LOVE THAT YOU'RE LOVING JD! I'm so happy you're reading them. So happy. I can't wait til you finish book 5. AHH.
ReplyDeleteI love this. Baths....Gods gift to the world! There is nothing better than soaking in a tub of hot water! I hate taking showers because I love baths so much!
ReplyDeleteI love your response to the cats vs. dogs questions hahah hilarious! So we've been following each other on Instagram for forever and I just now commented on your BLOG. Such a loser, following now!
ReplyDeleteBahaha...I love that your comfort food is gluten! You crack me up! I'm a bath person too! If I'm getting ready at home, I will always take a bath. My dream job would definitely be stay at home wife, party planner, crafter and puppy snuggler {otherwise known as lazy}. How do you keep your blog a secret? It's great girl!
ReplyDeleteI love posts like these! The blogging community is the best :)
ReplyDeleteI loved learning more about you! I wish we could get paid to read (good) books all day, too:) Hope you're having a great day!
ReplyDeleteI read the Jessica Darling series and LOVED it too.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of coffee either.
I won't judge you for Keira Knightley, I think she's gorgeous! I also prefer Instagram out of the three :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had an arsenal of evidence to support the dogs versus cats question bahah. And I'm totally glad it wasn't me answering that question! This was so fun to read :)
ReplyDeleteI totally played the recorder. What is this Jessica Darling series about? Just what I need to do, jump from one series to the next lol! It's like binging a show!
ReplyDeleteDoes the dream wardrobe come with a dream body? If so, count me in.
St. Patty's is really fun but it is a little bit difficult to deal with the drunken amateurs as I get older because the younger crowd gets more and more disrespectful.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of going to Sydney. It is so beautiful!
I also prefer to drink tea, it's so much better than coffee! And I just recently started watching Doctor Who and like to binge watch it on the weekends :)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh how can I ever forget recorder class! Our poor music teacher who had to deal with 30 kids blasting those things year after year haha And I love Keira Knightley! Are there people who don't? I wouldn't trust them ;) She's pregnant, eh!!!! (Little bit of Canadian for you there)
ReplyDeleteNot only did I play the recorder a hundred years ago, I've lived through 2 boys playing it!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd, I love bubble baths - with a glass of wine and a book!!!
I love this!!! I just realised how much we have in common haha. I secretly love Keira knightly too!
ReplyDeleteCarly xx
I loved reading this. I'm with you, instagram gets two votes! I never use twitter lol. I would also like an incredible wardrobe please!
ReplyDeleteMelanie @ meandmr.com
I loved reading your answers, I can relate to so many of them! being an expat, for starters, picking instagram over any other social media, loving tea, Mary Poppins, and oh how I laughed at the recorder graphic :-D
ReplyDeleteUmmm LOVE this! And love your response to dog or cat person hahaha! I think St Patty's day is one of my favorite holidays too and I could never give up Instagram! We have so much in common, just move to FL so we can hang out in real life!! :) :)
ReplyDeleteI think my materialistic thing would be a private jet that way I could go anywhere in the world anytime I wanted. Hah. I guess I dream big.
ReplyDeleteBest post title eva! LOL'd at the cats or dogs question. ;) I wish I had taken better care of my teeth too, sigh... and gotten braces in my teens like everyone else! It's just one area but I'm dreading the thought that I may have to get them at some point. I don't get twitter either haha... aaaand reading books would be my dream job too I think! Yup. :)
ReplyDeleteLove this! Instgrams all the way! Twitter is confusing & Facebook is full of crap. If I didn't have to have a personal page in order to keep up with my business page & clients I would do away with it!
ReplyDeleteMy cousin's wife is an editor for scholastic in NYC. They get like a whole week off every month to read and random days their boss is like okay, so it's 11, take the rest of the day and read this new book that's not published yet. When she told me what she did I never had more envy for a job in my life. Paid to read all day, sign me up!
This is brilliant and funny! Love learning more about bloggers, Jane Austen would be without a doubt in my top 5 of people I would like to visit. ;) x
ReplyDeleteI loved learning more about you. I simply enjoyed reading this post. I love Keira as well ;)
ReplyDeleteI ttruly enjoyed reading these!!! It's so nice to be able to get to know you! :)
ReplyDeleteDidn't I already comment? I thought I did...but apparently, I did not. Tea, baths, books, and an F bomb for the win!
ReplyDeleteWhy would anyone fault you for liking Kiera Knightley? She's awesome! She seems like the kind of girl who would prefer tea and baths, and someone who would read books and drop F bombs. I like her too.
Well I love all of your answers here! Your always so honest! I definitely had a recorder at one time in my life... and I agree.. what the eff was the purpose of that?! The whole slew of pictures of your cats just cracked me up! So cute!
