So, yeah.. it's 2015. When did that happen? That's scary. Sometimes I still think I'm 21, or 16 even.. then I wake up and realise I'm almost 28. I still feel the same, a bit wiser but mainly the same. Getting older is weirder than I ever thought it would be.
Why is 2015 going to be so awesome? I shall tell you. In no particular order:
I am going to complete a half marathon in under 2 hours.
I am going to buy all of my Christmas presents using Swagbucks (aka no out of pocket expense) and will have all purchases done by the end of November.
I am going to pay off all my credit cards.
I am going to Europe.
I am going to cross so much off my 30 before 30 list.
I am going to DC with some awesome girls.
I am going to 'give' something each month. My time, money or donating to goodwill. Something every month.
I am going to be thankful this year. Every month, not just November.
I am going to live more in the moment - stop planning and focusing on the future so much.
I am going to read 150 books.
I am going to love every item in my closet and get rid of all the things I don't wear.
I am going to make sure every single thing in my house is either beautiful or useful.
I am going to become a badass chef wannabe and person who sews things.
I am going to spend time with real friends, not wasting time on the people who let me down in 2013. I'm not mad about it, I'm just over fake friendships.
I am going to take care of myself. I am going to be the healthiest and fittest person I can be not because I want to lose weight but because healthy is where it's at.
I am going to love myself. I am going to be positive and nice, I am not going to say negative or mean things that I wouldn't dare say to a stranger, so why say them to myself?
Now, these aren't resolutions so I'm not afraid of breaking them. These are facts. Shit's happening y'all.
Every year after I turned 20 has been better than the last. So I have every reason to think 2015 is going to be better than 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010 or even before that.
Is 2015 going to be your most awesome year? Tell me something fabulous you are going to do this year.
UGH yes...growing older IS way weirder than I thought it would be. Also? Being a grown up is both totally awesome and equally stupid. I love the way you presented this post love! And yes! 2015 is going to be THE BEST YEAR EVER!
ReplyDeletei love this. i've no doubt you'll meet your goals
ReplyDeleteI love this especially the "I'm going to be thankful every month not just November" so many of us just think about what we are thankful for only on thanksgiving day and we should try and see all the positive wonderful things in our lives on a daily basis. I bought all my Christmas presents in November and it was great, definitely going to do that again this year! I signed up for swag bucks but only used it one day. Have you had success in the past making money from it?
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great week!!

Dang girl! You're going to kill 2015! I love that you don't call them resolutions, they're facts. So awesome! We're not getting older btw we're getting finer with age! ;) Happy Monday love!

I like your attitude, every year just keeps getting better and better!
ReplyDeleteThe beautiful and useful thing is so true. I've given away entire carloads of stuff in the last few years.
ReplyDeleteKeep posting book recommendations from those 150 you tackle…I like getting ideas!
This post makes me smile :) I have no doubt that you will do all of these awesome things this year, and you will be better off for it!
ReplyDeleteGetting older is definitely the weirdest thing…my brain doesn't seem to be aging at the same rate as my body haha!
Love this post!! And well, since I don't like resolutions, I'm glad you called them facts!! You'll have to tell me all the books you're reading so I can try to keep up! I definitely need to be reading more!
ReplyDeleteLove this post, I hope you can achieve everything, im routing for you girl!

Girl you got all of this and I love that you said "I'm Going to" not I want to - lighting a fire under yourself and you're going to get it all done!! xo, Biana - BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteI love these!! You are so ready to kick ass this year! Love the one about everything in your house being useful or beautiful. I just did some major cleaning out over the holidays and really want to adopt this mantra before I bring anything else in. It all just adds up so fast! Gina - On the Daily Express
ReplyDeleteGreat list! Love that you are committed to these too. :)
ReplyDeleteOk, DC is awesome and you'll have a great time with your friends; yes to getting rid of clothes you don't wear... Or anything in your home that you don't love/doesn't work; and holy sh**, 150 books in a year?! I'm figgin envious of you! But I did start my "read before bed" goal for 2015 last night, so I've got 30 pages in the books over here, lol!
ReplyDeletelove these goals!! cant wait for your trip to europe :) xo jillian - cornflake dreams
ReplyDeleteSeriously love this post with all its positivity! I've been really thinking about my 2015 goals... I really want to work on me. Trying to become the best person I possibly can. I really love the 30 before 30 Idea! I'm thinking I may make myself one. :) hope you have a great Monday!
ReplyDeleteLove all of this!
ReplyDeleteI do not do resolutions, because I typically work on things throughout the year. However, one fun thing I would like to do is to learn how to play the piano this year. I just have to find the right teacher.
These are great goals, lady! I know you are going to rock them! can't wait to plan on meeting you in MARCH!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one who still feels 21! Sad part is I'm much closer to 30. When I read the part about 150 books I did a double take and then remembered whose blog this is haha I have no doubt you'll do it. I like starting off a new year with such a positive attitude. I still have to make a list of things I hope to do and might need to copy of few. Especially the one about everything in the house being beautiful or useful. 2015 will be the year of de-cluttering!!
ReplyDeleteI love your goals! I need to set mine still. I had a little more than a week off of work and had some excellent plans and then life happened.. Anyway, there was a pride and prejudice movie marathon on TV this weekend and I thought about you. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that you start all your goals with "I am going to". So much more powerful than "I will try". I hope you get to cross off all of your goals!
ReplyDeletewww.madeintheshadeblog.com
Whoo LOVE this list of shit happening facts!! (not sure that makes sense) I love the non-materialistic and non-cliche goals that are gracing the blogosphere this year! 2015 is gonna be a great one for us all :)
ReplyDeleteI love these! You got this! I am so ready to knock some goals out of the park too.
ReplyDelete2015 IS going to be the best year! I'm going to turn 30 this year, and I still am holding out hope that this year will be Year of the Baby :)
ReplyDeleteAlso I think that you and I need to take an IKEA pilgrimage sometime in 2015!
What is swagbucks? I want some! Please explain!
ReplyDeletethese are my favorite:
ReplyDelete"I am going to spend time with real friends, not wasting time on the people who let me down in 2013. I'm not mad about it, I'm just over fake friendships."
"I am going to take care of myself. I am going to be the healthiest and fittest person I can be not because I want to lose weight but because healthy is where it's at."
"I am going to love myself. I am going to be positive and nice, I am not going to say negative or mean things that I wouldn't dare say to a stranger, so why say them to myself?"
because it's 100% true. love yourself, ditch the bitches and make life worth living by living. have fun, be nice and everything will fall into place. this is how i live my life! :D
That's awesome you're going to Europe and so many other fun things planned for the year!!
ReplyDeleteI love love LOVE that you wrote all of these down as facts! Girl, it sounds like 2015 is your year!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to keep up on Goodreads more and I add some of your stuff to my to read list. I finished a book this weekend...so I would say I started my year out right! Swagbucks is something that I am really working on. I am about to earn another $25 soon! How all are you earning?
You're going to rock 2015!!
ReplyDeleteI am signing up for a half marathon so my goal won't be to be under two hours but to finish :)
This This This:
ReplyDelete"I am going to take care of myself. I am going to be the healthiest and fittest person I can be not because I want to lose weight but because healthy is where it's at."
This is exactly ALL I want for 2015 - here's to both of us doing this and having the best and healthiest year!
Such a great list and you can totally do them all!! I so want to do a half marathon too.
ReplyDeleteUmmmm so your list for this year is pretty much UH-mazing! I definitely want to set some high goals for my next half marathon as well. :D I have a 10-miler coming up in May and these frigid Chicago temps are NOT going to make training easy! (I refuse to run on a treadmill) haha.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful list! I love your positivity and go get 'em attitude! Cheers to the best year yet! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be a wonderful year for you!! Can't wait to see what 2015 has in store!
ReplyDeleteYaaas love this! You have to let me know when you're in DC - my stomping grounds!!
ReplyDeleteOn the note of getting rid of everything not beautiful or useful, does this mean all his old notebooks from high school have to go? And the binders? If you find a way to dispose of these please let me know so I can get rid of Harrison's! haha
Lol, I love this! Particularly the "these are facts" line. It's so much more fun and inspiring than, "Well, I'll try to get around to maybe doing some of these."
ReplyDeleteYou are going to rock 2015! These are awesome things! Hoping 2015 is the best year yet:)
ReplyDeleteLooks like 2015 will be one hell of a year!
ReplyDeleteI hope to be able to get back to running this year. Ending with a half marathon would be amazing (I'll never be able to do a sub 2 though--so you ROCK!)
I suck at resolutions I like facts or even predictions way better. I totally forget how old I am. I firmly believe you are as old you you think you are. My ex mother in law once told me she was too old to carry a red purse. I never want to say that. I want to be carrying crazy color bags and wearing whatever color nail polish I want. Because I can.
ReplyDeleteI love this post, it's so positive :) I strongly encourage the 150 book ideas, this was my resolution last year as the only reading I was doing before then was for my degree work.. I am absolutely addicted to reading now :)
ReplyDeleteThis is the best 2015 fact list i have ever seen!! I love that you are calling them facts and not resolutions because they ARE going to happen! You are a badass. Keep at it!
ReplyDeleteI love your list, sounds like 2015 is going to be pretty epic. Cracked up at "I am going to become a badass chef wannabe and person who sews things" LOL and 150 books?! Whew!
ReplyDeleteAmazing goals -- seems like it's going to be a pretty awesome year! :)
ReplyDeleteShit's happening! I freaking love it.
ReplyDeleteI really love everything on this list (except the sewing and the running, not my style) but you'll kill it!
I want your life :) That all sounds FANTASTIC! :)
ReplyDeleteI think the way you're going about your goals is the way to do it: stating them as definite eventualities. At the start of each year, I say, "This is my year." I totally believe it. 2015 WILL be awesome, for both of us :D
ReplyDeleteHi, we're twins. I LOVE THIS.
ReplyDeleteLots to do and so much motivation! 2015 will be great to you ;)
ReplyDeleteI love your "facts" and I love the way you presented them! I am also going to go to Europe and pay off all of my credit card debt!
ReplyDeleteYou're going to killllll 2015 girl!!! Love that these are fact not resolutions! Boom! Do work!

This post was very inspiring. I just know you will reach your goals. Happy 2015
ReplyDeleteI love this and feel the same way - each year has continued to get better and better so I have know that 2015 will be awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteI like a lot of the things you are going to do this year - I've been working on living in the moment for several years now (still a constant work in progress).
And, I'm in the process of getting rid of stuff around our house that I don't like, use or is unnecessary!!!
I love these promises. Takes all the guesswork out of resolutions. They say all you've gotta do is wish it into existence! Those last 3 are pure gold. You go!
ReplyDelete"I am not going to say negative or mean things that I wouldn't dare say to a stranger, so why say them to myself?"
ReplyDeleteI want this tattooed on my arm so I can remind myself of it daily. What an amazing way to look at it! Such an inspiration lovebug!
I like your list! It does sound like 2015 will be fabulous for you.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had the patience to sew.
I absolutely love your list. I would like to also give something each month that is a great goal. I am 100% with you that I want everything in my home to be either beautiful or useful too! I have been working on that one for a while and making a lot of progress lately! xo
ReplyDeleteYou're going to have an amazing year!! 150 books- wow! I'll probably read about 5 this year! Can't wait for your sub 2 half!!
ReplyDeleteI love your determination. :) And I love all of your "facts" especially the one about loving yourself and being nice/positive to yourself. You're so right, that's the most important thing of all. So jealous that you're going to Europe!
ReplyDeleteSo many great facts :) Love your positive attitude. And you've got to share how you get so much from Swagbucks. I never qualify for the surveys!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I love how you start them off with "I am going to" love that!!! I had hoped to go to Europe too but a few other trips seem to be popping up. I also wanna be that chef person. Lets see if that materialises this year!
ReplyDeleteI need to take a note from all of your positivity in this post! Sooo many good things coming your way this year! I'm extra excited for all of your book reviews!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I am really struggling to come up with a list of things for this year. and I love lists of things for a year. *tears* I love your list. Thank goodness we went to NOLA at the beginning of the year it really refreshed me and has be feeling inspired for the first time in a WHILE. What I've come up with so far: leave the country (and Canada), try oil painting, do a reading challenge, foster better relationships with friends and family, 'put the social back in social media'. Good luck with your goals! XO -Alexandra
ReplyDeleteSimply Alexandra: My Favorite Things
Where's the hand-clapping emoji when I need it? Your list is awesome and I'm still so jealous that you get to travel so much! I'm with you on being thankful, giving back, and getting rid of excess non-necessities! Cheers to a bright, wonderful, successful new year!
ReplyDeleteLove it - totally borrowing this idea! We have so many of the same 'goals' for this year - can't wait to accomplish them!
ReplyDeleteWhoop whoop! You sound like such a determined bad ass! You got this! ALLL of this! it's going to be a great year for you! Reading 150 books just sounds insane! Lol. I'm super jealous that your going to Europe!!!!
