If you follow me on instagram then you know I went to my first ever basketball game on Friday night, we got some free (awesome) seats from my boss and it was tons of fun. I don't even think I'd ever watched a full game of basketball on TV before, though I can get into almost any sport live (except cricket or baseball, sorry). We got blizzards on the way home and it was a perfect impromptu date night.
Saturday was a bit lazy and then we went out to one of those painting and wine classes, a shindig with KC's work colleagues. My best friend (and her husband, who is my husband's best friend) just happens to work with my husband, so of course I tagged along. I still wasn't over my cold and wasn't feeling getting all dolled up, but my bestie worked her magic and I'm pretty sure she made me the prettiest I've ever been, just saying.
I wore my new Express London sweater (exact sold out now, lighter colour here) that Gina twisted my arm and made me get. It is so comfy, and it really does stretch out after wearing - at the start of the night it wasn't long enough to cover my front if I were to wear leggings. By the end of the night, it was. So there's that. It's also longer in the back which is my favourite thing in the whole world.
Sweater: Express (lighter colour stripes, other colours)
Jeans: Nobody (old)
Boots: JustFab (JF Sammy)
Now, every time my bestie does my hair like this I get tons of compliments and questions so I thought I'd summarise here: she uses the straightener to curl, but doesn't curl the ends. She teases the shit out of it, the messier the better.
Sunday was spent relaxing. I woke up feeling more sick than I had on Saturday, so I just sat down all day and wallowed in my sickness sorrows. And that was my weekend.
But, before we go, I wanted to share 2 more stripey finds with you. I bought both of these cyber week and love them both so much I had to share.
The first one is this long sleeve striped top from Nordstrom. Looks like the exact colour is sold out, which sucks but there are other colours (here and here). Gina has it in white and the one I have. I am considering getting the white one as well, I know I have my sheinside one, but this one is more fitted and long sleeves, so we'll see. Did I mention it's only $16 (and free shipping)? I wear the medium, case you wanted to know.
Ok now we have the striped tee. I have been hunting for a simple, perfect, casual, nothing fancy, simple striped tee for ages. Why do they have to make things so complicated? Ages and ages ago, my bestie and I went shopping and found these super soft and comfy tees from the Gap, which I loved. I don't remember seeing them in stripes at the time, but when I saw it on Caroline I about squealed. Her link didn't work so it looked like they were sold out, and it wasn't until I was perusing the ol website and found them that I let myself get excited again. Anyway, all this to say I am in love with this striped tee, you should get it, it's totes awesome. Caroline wears it way better if you want to take a squiz.
Throw on a plaid scarf and you're about as basic as they get, right?
It too is longer in the back for those who like that. If it covers my booty... anyway. I wear the smalls in these, and I'm normally in between small and medium.
Hope everyone had a great weekend and you're all enjoying December so far! It's basically over already.
Are you as obsessed with stripes as I am?
