- Why do I live in America again?! - when talking about healthcare and how much it costs to have a baby in Australia (zero dollars) and how much time off we get as a national requirement (4 weeks... 4 weeks!) Update: 4 weeks is not maternity leave, thats 12 weeks! 4 weeks is national holiday (vacation) requirement for EVERYONE.
- blah blah something about Pride & Prejudice blah blah.
Wanna do it too? I'd love to learn more about you!
The four things you don't eat are exactly the same as mine would be. I'm not sure I understand why anchovies are a thing. I can't wait for summer either (but I'm looking forward to getting a dose in Sydney next week!). Where are you travelling to in Europe?

(PS I apologies profusely if I am a no reply blogger. I've tried to fix it many many times but as soon as I switch back to a Google+ profile it gets lost again. STUPID GOOGLE+)
That picture of you as a baby - sooo precious!!! I loved reading this - so great to get to know more about you!
ReplyDeleteCarly xo
Always love these kinds of posts! We're excited for you to come to NYC, too!!!
ReplyDeleteyou're called woody and i'm called Bird for the same reason!
ReplyDeletethis is way too cute. i'm so glad you're europe - I LOVE IT THERE. ALL OF IT!!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny you bring up the terrible maternity benefits that the U.S. has. My coworker is pregnant and was just telling me last night how our district offers NO paid maternity leave. Every other school I've worked at (3 in 3 different states) gave 6 weeks paid. Here, you can take up to a quarter off (9 weeks) and keep your job but they dock your pay for the rest of the year. It's awful that America is known for these things.
ReplyDeleteHow long do you get off in Australia? Seriously it is not even right how short maternity leave here is!!! Love these kinds of posts!
ReplyDeleteThis was fun to read :) I lol'd at Woody Woodpecker. You had a baby faux-hawk!
ReplyDelete~Gianni~
Umm love this!! So fun getting to learn more about you. And I totally say "My feet is cold" all the time!! I totally agree about the ridiculous amount of time off we get when having a baby here. Not to mention how expensive it is!

This is so cute! Maternity is way to short here. Olives and anchovies are just gross!
ReplyDeletemmm nachos are my favorite... i hate Olives, anchovies, coffee, and mushrooms! xo jillian - cornflake dreams
ReplyDeleteLove these kinds of posts and totally stealing this idea!! My favorite foods are similar to yours too!
ReplyDeleteThis is so much fun. I'm totally borrowing it!!!
ReplyDeletehaha so fun! That Woody Woodpecker picture cracks me up! :) The Book Thief is on deck for me... SO excited! and also... boo healthcare... I might post this if I have time soon, or maybe around the new year! XO -Alexandra
ReplyDeleteSimply Alexandra: My Favorite Things
You don't like coffee??? What? How did I not know this? But at least you love Nachos so I can still be your friend. And what sunglasses are you wearing in the last pic? I love those!!
ReplyDeleteI worked at McDonalds too....
ReplyDeleteI really like these kinds of posts.
And personally the picture of you is wayy cuter than Woody Woodpecker.
Also give me those nachos.
I worked in a shoe store in the mall and one of those places where you can get things engraved. Did I mention I hate feet? Also, I now want to live in Australia.
ReplyDeleteYou don't like coffee? At all? Oh wow, I love coffee. Great post!!
ReplyDeleteI too would rather be at Disney World right now! And I'm sad about Selfie being cancelled too. And yes, I am just learning how much our maternity leave sucks. Boo. I can take 12 weeks off without losing my job, but I only get 2/3 pay for 3 weeks. Um..what? Love this post though! And you :)
ReplyDeleteOMG so many vacations next year. I'm so jealous!
ReplyDelete"blah blah something about P&P blah blah" haha, oh I talk like an idiot too - mainly around Joey. We're weird. :) You have so many great trips planned for the near future!!! Wowza. :) Such a fun post idea.
ReplyDeleteAww, love your baby pic, so cute! Love all of your movie choices!!
ReplyDeleteHaha, fun post! And did you get a "blog makeover"? I feel like things look different around here... The blues seem bluer. Am I on drugs? Dunno, but it looks GREAT!
ReplyDeleteHaha, loved learning more about your cute self! And 4 weeks as a requirement?! That's AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteAww, you were such a cute baby! Love getting to know you posts. I really cracked up when you had "bed" as one of the four places you want to be right now. I'm with you on that one!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute post and woody woodpecker - I'm dying!!! I have to say America needs to take a que from the rest of the world on vacation time and maternity leave...not OK!!
ReplyDeleteSo now I'm questioning why I don't live in Australia! I can't wait to read about all of the things you have planned for the upcoming year!
ReplyDeleteWait? You are recommending Pride & Prejudice? I'm shocked :)
ReplyDeleteI had a similar one of these I did in April but you have diff categories so I may do it again! I do like the healthcare in other countries and that vaca time would be awesome! http://www.mylittlehea.com/2014/04/f-is-for-four.html
ReplyDeleteSO agree about American health care. I often wonder why I was born here. Lol.
ReplyDeleteBased soley on the fact that you talk like "do I has fever" and "my feet is cold" I know that we would be great friends. :P
Girl! I want to move to Australia! The U.S. is way behind on these things. My son cost almost $8,000 to be born and that is with health insurance.. not to mention I received NO paid time off and still had to pay my monthly health insurance premiums all while not receiving a paycheck. Good 'ol America...
ReplyDeleteugh healthcare in the us. I've only ever lived in this country and it makes my brain want to explode. and the mentality here about it, my god it makes me sick. before when it was legal to not cover pre existing conditions, and i knew people who actually SUPPORTED that idea. and they didn't work for insurance companies. i digress. maybe you should talk your husband into trying out australia for a little while :)
ReplyDeleteheck - why do I live in America?!?!? I want to go to Australia... that stuff drives me nuts!
ReplyDeleteYou are just the cutest! Loved learning more about you.
... & of course, that you have B&B as your top 4 & a gif... you just keep going up my scale of favorite people in the world!
I don't like coffee but I love chips and dips and nachos, so lets get together!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteI'd rather be at Disney World right now, too! And I think I've officially convinced Nick into a Fall 2015 Europe trip, SO excited!! Love your Doritos nachos - I've still been meaning to try that ;)
ReplyDeleteHaha I actually have my post like this in my draft folder waiting to go live on Friday! I think it's so fun and I love learning little facts about everyone. Your Woody Woodpecker hair is so cute and my feet is always cold too!
ReplyDeleteDamn the US and our zero awesome policies regarding required vacation! That is amazing. YES to Beauty and the Beast, NO anchovies and lots of nachos please :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously the work life balance in America is rough. I will have a hard time leaving our 4 week summer holidays behind if we leave Iceland!
ReplyDeleteIt was so cool learning more about you. Loving this post.
ReplyDeleteIs that butter on top of your nachos?! The woody woodpecker photo is so funny and cute!. I eat almost everything but I am totally surprised you don't like coffee. Everyone likes coffee!
ReplyDeleteI cant wait to see you on the 22nd! Yayyyyyyyyyyyyy!
ReplyDeleteGulp I can't believe you don't like olives! They are my favourite. And that baby hair is something fierce!
ReplyDeleteahhhhh I found something we don't have in common. Your detest for olives! I could eat those all.day.long!!! Especially if they are really salty! I've never understood how people can mispronounce a name into something it clearly isn't. Ex- Kristen vs Kirsten.
ReplyDeleteWoody Woodpecker... lol HOW CUTE!!! You were such a cute little baby! and whaaat, it costs zero dollars to have a baby in Australia? Ummm... why am *I* still living in America!? lol...
ReplyDeleteI'd rather be at Disney World right now too!

You get four weeks of mandatory vacation in Australia? As in, you have to take it? When I finally visit there, it might be hard to come back!
ReplyDeleteI love that you're not supposed to eat gluten but one of your favorite foods is pasta.
Ah, I love this list! Beauty and the Beast has always been a favorite movie! Did you used to have blond hair?! I really like it!
ReplyDeleteMelanie @ meandmr.com
Yes! when will America step on board with healthcare?! They act like its rocket science when so many other countries know whats up and yes please to the 4 weeks off!! LOVE Beauty and the Beast!!

Yes yes yes I want to do this too! Saw it on another blog recently but if it's making its rounds I guess it's time I jump on this bandwagon now too right? RIGHT?? Anyway. Love getting to know you, of course. And you live in America because it's much easier to travel to meet up with me from here than from Australia! (Just realized we'll be face-to-face with each other SO SOON and then AGAIN IN LIKE THREE MONTHS!)
ReplyDeleteI'm doing eeeeettt!!! I seriously don't know what's wrong with me and The Book Thief. I have started it twice now and got distracted. Everyone says it's awesome. Those nachos are making me so hungry.
ReplyDeleteLove this idea! I worked as a bank teller too. It is a pretty awful job especially because everyone assumes you make really good money working at a bank! NOT! Looks like you've got a lot of traveling in the next year! So exciting! And I'm totally moving to Australia. A 12 week maternity leave and 4 weeks off? Heck yeah!
ReplyDeletehahaha woody woodpecker. I died hahah! This is too cute Ive actually been tagged to do one so I think Ill pop it out next week!
ReplyDeleteThat baby picture is awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't drink coffee either.
Funny that you didn't like being a bank teller - it was one of my favorite summer jobs. I worked at a large drive-up bank and we were busy most of the time so that helped.
I'm looking forward to NYC too! Woop, woop! :)
ReplyDeleteI still need to try those Dorito nachos! I meant to before when I saw them on here! GAHHHH!
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine being a bank teller. People are assholes period... when it comes to money, they're 100 times worse!
Love this post idea! You and your Dorito's nachos crack me up! I might have to play along sometime when I'm in need of a post idea! :)
