How to have a fabulous Christmas

Wake up early. We are all children on Christmas Day.

Presents! Up to you which order you do things, we always opened presents first because patient we are not.

My favourite part is seeing people's faces when they open the gifts I so thoughtfully (in my opinion) picked out for them.

Eat a big breakfast. Kudos to you if you're the one cooking.

Do nothing for a little while, maybe play with your new toys.

Spend time with your loved ones. Family, friends, pets, stuffed animals.

Remember that life is short and you won't always have that luxury ohmygawd I'm gonna cry now

More food! Hopefully someone else cooked it.

Christmas crackers and their silly hats are a must for me, and they are so hard to find here but I found some at TJ Maxx and I make my inlaws pretend it's a thing here.

More presents? Yay!

Don't forget to smile and be nice to everyone you meet, especially if they are working.

Go to bed fat and happy because Christmas is awesome like that.

Or if you're like me, maybe miss out on all these things because you thought Christmas Day was a brilliant choice to fly back from NYC. Hopefully our flights don't get delayed!

So hopefully we are having the time of our lives in NYC by now - follow along on instagram because you know I'll post all the things!

What are your must do's for a great Christmas?

  2. Definitely how I like to spend my Christmas!! I am already looking forward to all the food! And luckily I don't have to cook any of it! :) I think you'll be safe flying home on Christmas, they said they don't expect many delays that day but they expect them tomorrow and Wed! Have fun in NYC!!

  5. As a kid we used to open presents first but at my brothers we eat first. I do sleep over so I get a niece wake-up call which is simply the best thing ever.

  7. Eeee!! All the food!! I swear the best thing is eating all the cookies and no one saying anything about you eating cookies for lunch, because, well Christmas. Hope you have fun in NYC!!

Yes to this please. I'll be working a few hours on Christmas and the amount of grumpy people on the holidays is astounding.
Hope you have a fantastic time in on of my favorite cities!

  9. Hahaha -- love the gifs. Watching people open the presents I got them is my favorite part of Christmas, too. It feels good to know you've gotten it right without being told what to give them :) Gahhh! Figaro is my favorite character from Pinocchio (I mean, that puppet kid is cool, too, I guess...)! Enjoy the Big Apple!

  10. This is the best! Pretty much exactly how I have always done Christmas. Definitely presents first thing in the morning. I always felt so bad for friends whose families made them wait until after breakfast or lunch or something, like how do you live?!
I hope you guys are having THE BEST time in NYC!!! I'll just be over here living vicariously through you via instagram...

  13. OH this poor poor cat! hehe :) My inlaws do party crackers. I had never heard of them before I met KC. I love them. We have good luck finding them at TJMaxx too, but also Pier 1, and World Market. :) So fun. I hope that you have a blast in NYC and a good flight back for a slightly delayed Christmas. My essentials... breakfast with my love, a full tank of gas (we now visit 3 different places on Christmas Day), already have opened gifts with KC the night before... so that we are sure to get things we like. . . :) haha XO -Alexandra

  31. I love this Christmas list! I will be making breakfast and bringing a dish (plus desert) on Christmas Eve as well as Christmas Day so it will be loaded with food so the Hogwart's "Feast" is totally appropriate.

Flying on Christmas Day is something I have never done and it sounds like it could be pretty busy. But once you get there hopefully you can be lazy, per the above guidelines!

  32. Nailed it. Especially with "playing with toys" gif baha. There are worse things then leaving an amazing trip in NYC on Christmas but I'll switch places with you if you need me to ;)

  33. LMAO I absolutely love this. I actually am trying to decide how to open the gifts this year... usually we all take turns but I'm kinda thinking about letting the little kids open all of theirs in case they get cranky towards the end (we are opening them at night on Christmas Eve) hmm who knows...we'll see how it goes! :P Hope you have a Merry Christmas Kristen :)
