1. Thou shall turn off captcha.
2. Thou shall not be a no-reply blogger.
3. Thou shall respond to comments via email.
4. Thou shall comment on other blogs.
5. Thou shall not copy cat without linking to inspiration.
6. Thou shall link to the specific post and not home page for link ups.
7. Thou shall be on all the social media doodads.
8. Thou shall take photos of all the things and outfits.
9. Thou shall share all the personal stories.
10. Thou shall make some of the best friendships ever.
Obviously these are things I've learned as a blogger using blogger. ie not wordpress, disqus etc. Anything else I've forgotten?
Interesting list! I'm not on all the "social media doodads," but I feel OK breaking that commandment b/c I'd probably go insane otherwise, haha. #3 is my favorite. I love getting responses to comments, and responding to comments I get! That's when it feels most like the bloggers you read/readers of your blog are your friends :D

Mainly because I do most everything from my phone (which is also the reason I HATE captcha and will abandon leaving a comment if I get the captcha wrong more than once) so it's difficult to get the full link of the actual page. Rules, shmules. :) I'm okay with breaking a few of these. e.g. Social Media. Since I was a late joiner to IG, I think it's okay to phase yourself into different spaces. And I'm still not on GFC or Facebook and don't really feel a need to be. I found it overwhelming to start blogging - I couldn't take on blogging AND all of the social media all at the same time. Baby steps were a little easier for me, so I'm understanding if people don't want to do everything all at once.

Yup these are all good lessons for one to learn...I know even bein on Wordpress I made sure I wasn't a no-reply blogger b/c that's just no fun. Thought it took me a hot minute to figure it out on WP and thought all teh Blogger blogger were just rude lol

I have them but haven't done much with them. and THANK YOU about no-reply bloggers! It's so annoying to hit reply and then see that the email is noreply@blogger.com or whatever it is! Ugh! Of course I was no-reply at first because I didn't know, but as soon as someone pointed it out to me I fixed it!

All of this is so true! Captcha makes me crazy. I was trying to comment on someone's blog the other day and I literally had to refresh 20 times to finally get the letters right. So frustrating! Have a great weekend, girl! :)

ReplyDeleteUmmmm yes yes and yes!! Number one is the biggest seriously just turn it off!!!!!! I want to throw my phone (since i do 99% of comments from my phone which makes it a million times worse) every time captcha comes up! If you get a spam comment just delete it ugh!!
