Blogger Style Covet; Coral Shorts

I am all about getting my style inspiration from bloggers, as I have talked about before. As soon as I saw this outfit from Shannon at Upbeat Soles I wanted to copy it immediately, and of course share my findings. And if I could have her hair as well, that would be great...

Seriously, isn't this the most perfectly cute outfit? I have a pair of coral shorts from Target that I had no idea how to style, so thanks for the inspiration Shannon! Though I really want Shannon's shorts which are from BASTION & CO NYC - don't forget to check out Shannon's original post for a discount code!

I have been seeing denim vests all over pinterest lately, what do you think ladies? Would you wear one? Seeing it on Shannon makes me want to buy one even more now, but I'm pretty sure girlfriend would look good in a garbage bag! I threw my denim jacket on with this outfit but I definitely think it would be cuter with a vest.



Sunglasses are from a market in NOLA 5 years ago, denim jacket is Lee, Target lace tank, eBay necklace, Target coral shorts & Steve Madden sandals.

I also adore this outfit from Jessica at What I Wore, I love the simplicity and the addition of the lightweight scarf.

Same NOLA sunnies and awesome hair do, Target white tee, TJ Maxx scarf, Target coral shorts & I have no idea where the shoes are from because they are so.old.

Soo.. you gonna add some coral shorts to your wardrobe now? Do you like the Target ones or the ones that Shannon is wearing? More importantly, is it acceptable to have 2 pairs of coral shorts in your wardrobe...?

ps apologies for my awkwardness, a fashion blogger I am not. I am pretty sure the shorts fit better when I bought them... oops.

    i don't own any bright colored shorts! mostly, i'm a dark kinda gal (black/olive/gray) but they look adorable on you :)

    I actually like yours with the jacket more than the vest. I love my coral shorts and I think they were from Target or maybe Old Navy.
    The second outfit is more my favorite though. I just love wearing a scarf!

    You look great!! Both of your outfit re-creations turned out great and I think it's okay to have two pairs of coral shorts if they are different is some way. Different shade...fabric...whatever. I think your denim jacket looks just as good with the outfit as the denim vest version. So you don't NEED a denim vest. (And I'm LOLing at the labels on your sidebar because one of them says "I'm not a very nice person." HA!!!)

    ooo I love your version of the outfit! In face, I like your coral shorts a thousand times more. I would definitely wear a denim vest, not sure I could pull it off and not look like I was straight out of the breakfast club, but I love them.

    Love both versions of your outfits!!! I am not a vest fan. I feel absolutely ridiculous in them, but I do have a jean jacket that I wear with just about everything to make it "work appropriate." I like both pairs of coral shorts, they have a different feel but yours probably would go with more. I have a pair of coral capris that I usually wear with a black top for work.

    I have been eyeing denim vests lately. I have a denim jacket similar to yours that I got from American Eagle years ago, but the denim vest is kind of adorable. I like the coral shorts, and, uh, you have a beautiful backyard. Like I just want to roll in that green grass..weird!
