Secret Blogger Link Up : 4th of July Fun

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend. I think all weekends should be 3 day weekends, but doesn't everyone?

Shortly after work on Thursday we left for Small Town USA to visit with KC's family who have everyone over for the 4th (like 30 adults and 70 billion children... in one house).

On the 4th we went to the next town over for a 'big parade' which was a lot of fun for the kids and hot as balls for the adults who were stupid enough to wear jeans.

Good thing is all the kids gave me some of their candy. Winning.

My tank top is from forever 21. Perfect for all the food and beer I consumed.

My brother in law has been living in NC for the past 5 or so years and recently moved back and everyone is super happy to have him home.

seriously, isn't her smile the weirdest / cutest thing ever?

'sup really weird and fake Goofy.

KC's cousin recently had a baby boy (one month old) and he is the cutest little guy. Of course I stole him for the majority of the weekend.

That night we hung out and played cards against humanity which we played last time we visited. This game is hilarious - if you have family and friends with a dirty / inappropriate sense of humour, you have to get this - its fabulous.

The next day we bbq'd, had naps and the kids threatened us with water balloons. We left all the oldies and the youngens that night and went out to the local bar.. there's only one. We sat around and chatted and told embarrassing drunk stories. Lots of beer was consumed.

More cuddles before we had to leave on Sunday. See that diaper? Yep, I changed that - my first diaper. It was not fun. Props to all you boy mamas. Thankfully he didn't get me!

On the drive home we stopped by Chester, IL which is the home of Popeye, apparently.

Pride & Prejudice Tee!! My fave. Old Navy jeans (that are on sale for stupid $20, are you kidding?! gah).

The boys were clearly all about being in a photo.

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend celebrating a pretty ok country!
*just a joke! obviously I think this country is more than 'pretty ok' otherwise I wouldn't live here.

And just for funsies, throwback to 4th of July 2 years ago.

That Goofy would give me nightmares. Disney copyright can bite it :)

  26. The floral tank top from Forever 21 is adorable! And wow, you're lucky to have escaped diaper changing for so long!! I baby-sat and worked in a toddler room at a daycare, so unfortunately I have a lot of experience in that area. At least I still haven't had to change an old person's diaper. :)

  44. I wish I could try working 10 hour days so I could have a three day weekend every weekend. Cards Against Humanity is so funny! I can't wait to play it again. The town we were in for the Fourth only had two bars haha. We kept walking back and forth between the two, seeing the same people in both of them.

  51. Looks like such a great 4th of July weekend! And I agree that we need 3 day weekends every weekend. In fact, we need to flip around the whole work schedule and just have 5 days off and only work 2. That sounds like the best:) Hope you have a great weekend! So glad it's Friday!!!
