Another guest post? You guys are so lucky. Today is Amanda from Meet @ The Barre, if you don't know who she is you are clearly living under a (blog) rock.
I believe some introductions are in order! My name is Amanda and I have a little home over at my blog called Meet @ the Barre. I am a Pure Barre instructor, bargain shopping queen and just the perfect amount of crazy (if you ask me). Kristen is my blogging bestie and she asked me to guest post while she is holidaying over in her homeland Australia. I wish I could hear her accent while she is over there! I bet it is so adorable as oppose to when I go back to my "homeland" Boston. Doesn't sound that pretty.
Anyways I was dreaming up some ideas (no pressure) for this guest post and naturally like how all my genius ideas come to me either right before I fall asleep or when I'm in the shower and away from a pen. This one came to me and I immediately got to work. One of my most favorite recent posts was about my fiancé Mark and all the things he has taught me since we have been together. My other favorite post is about all those secret girl behaviors that you do when you're by yourself. So naturally this one came to me.....
Things We Do With Our Girlfriends......That We Could Never Do With Guys.
Eat an entire box of ice cream sandwiches
no shame getting up for seconds or thirds without this look
Watch marathons of SATC and ponder deeply about which character you are more like
Actually attempt those DIY projects from Pinterest.
Random dance parties....with costume changes
Finish every bottle of wine in your house
Crimp your hair and go on an 80's pub crawl.
That old frozen bag of tater tots in the back of the freezer.....seems like a genius idea right now.
Facebook stalkexes friends
Go through the McDonalds drive thru at midnight for McFlurries
Sing into hairbrushes
Light sparklers inside the house (don't ask it was the day after New Years Eve).
After a Sunday of day drinking think its okay to randomly buy tickets to a Taylor Swift concert.
Sit on the couch and talk for hours. How is it already midnight???
Shop all day.....break for lunch and head right back to it.
Go out with matching headband antlers on.
Meet each other at 530 am for early workout classes.
Email back and forth all day, send selfies in the dressing rooms of Target to ask opinions about a maxi dress and "like" every single picture of each others on Instagram (love my blogging girls!)
Well there you have it! My list of the crazy things we do with girls that we can't do with guys. What did I miss? I hope you enjoyed this random musing of mine and you'll come check me out at my blog Meet @ the Barre. Thanks so checking it out! xoxoxo

haha yes to all of these except the 5:30 wakeup thing to work out ... aint nobody getting me to do that!
ReplyDeleteKristen I hope you're having a blast down undah!
Those all sound like my dream day! Shopping and tater tots, some of my favorite things. And anyone who tries to wake me up at 5:30 to workout is going to be seen as an enemy and is in danger of being beaten with pillows. Haha I am not an early waker.
ReplyDeleteBahahah all of these are so true!! Love it!

Believe it or not... I have done some of these with my husband! He's my best friend and I consider him a female from time to time so I can get my girl gossip on.
ReplyDeleteNo judging. I can't stand the women in my town.
What a super cute post, love it. Girlfriend time is the bestest!
ReplyDeleteha this is too great. satc and wine for life please and thank you :)
ReplyDeleteHi Kristen! This is hilarious, and true! I just nominated your blog for a Liebster Award! Check out today's post for details! Happy Thursday! http://welaughanyway.blogspot.com/2014/06/laugh-anyway-gets-liebster-award.html
ReplyDeleteThe perfect list! My favorite thing is shopping all day long! My mom and I do it every time we get together! There is no room for tired during a shopping excursion and boys cant hang!
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, I cracked up at the southern accent/Boston thing. LOL. I am not sure if the sexiest accent is southern, I guess for America it is...but I know it isn't Boston. Or Wisconsin. Bring on the English and the Ausies! Those are some hot accents ;) ;)
Haha yes all so true, especially the food related ones haha!! Also I grew up in the South but now live near Boston so I can attest to people thinking my accent is adorable as though I am a little pet lol
ReplyDeleteI don't know about Boston being the worst accent. I kind of like it. Now hardcore Long Island or Philly--those are terrible and I could totally do without those.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing to do with my girlfriends is judge. No one is safe. And we totally don't judge each other for judging everyone else.
I don't "publicly" eat a lot of carbs but on occasion, secretly of course, an entire box of mac and cheese, a small pizza, biscuits... things I would never eat in front of other people lol
ReplyDeleteUgh I did the 5:30 am workout thing yesterday and yeah... I think I'd rather stick to my lunch time sessions. Although I will admit it was nice to literally have the entire day to myself yesterday without having a gym break! And is it bad I totally bought T-Swift tickets 100% sober at like 10 am exactly the moment they went on sale and then freaked out like a teeny bopper when I met her? #noshame I will admit there was a lot of alcohol involved at the concert though! And random dance parties and 80's pub crawls are definitely the best! Love it!

I love this!! I can't believe Conan said that - isn't he from Boston?! LOL The eating anything and everything..sadly (or not sadly) I do that with Gary and he doesn't judge me!! xo
ReplyDeletehaha yup, to all of them! my favorite is the picture sending asking for opinions on outfits!
ReplyDeleteLove this list and love your crimped hair ;) the SATC one is sooo true!
ReplyDeleteHAha! I do all of these!
ReplyDeleteThe ice cream sandwiches really hit home though... I cant even buy them without eating the whole damn box. What do they put in those things!!!
Drinking every bottle of wine in the house....yes yes and yes.... they never do put enough in those bottles!
Um yes to all of these. Also, I propose you, me, Kristen, Krystal and whoever else wants to join the party all pick a day, unite with each other somewhere and do all of these things. Who's in!?
ReplyDeleteI am dying right now - these are all straight on! Did you really buy T Swift concert tickets after drinking all day? That is classic. Oh, and thanks for liking almost all my pics on Instagram - it's always a confidence booster (lol) :)
ReplyDeleteThese are perfect, and spot on. It seriously doesn't get much better than fun times with your girlfriends! My fave is definitely the T Swift after a day of drinking! Hilarious.
ReplyDeleteall of this is hilarious, but to be honest, my favorite is the conan quote about boston accents! haha it's sooo true!
ReplyDeleteNailed it. 10! :) Mia is right, it doesn't get any better than time with your best gfs for a girls night!
ReplyDeleteYES! That's what girlfriends are for, right? Love this:)
ReplyDeleteHaha yes! This is so true! It makes me miss living with my friends in college.
ReplyDeleteSo true! Love all my time with my girlfriends!
ReplyDeleteOh yes - bye bye wine, hello late night crap food fests, definitely "where did the time go" and y'all have down the IG love for sure ha. And yay that this will be my life a la your list come this weekend with my oldest friend in the world. Woop it up time (but maybe no crimped hair hah).
ReplyDeleteHaha I sent several pictures to friends at 6 this morning bc I needed interview outfit advice.
ReplyDeleteI know this may not be well received, but I am not a Carrie Bradshaw fan.
ReplyDeleteOmg this all so perfect!!!! 80s parties and crimped hair um yes!! Wine and ice cream yes! FB stalking duh!! And allllllllllllllllll day shopping event! Yes please!! Loving that gif! I totally have a black belt in shopping haha!

The crimped hair is the best!! All day shopping with breaks for food i.e. cupcakes! ;)
ReplyDeleteI love girls nights out so I can actually bust out one of those 50 lipsticks that I love but never wear because Tyler hates lip products of any kind. That and not feeling pressured to get ready in less than 30 minutes - primping time is half the fun of going out with the girls!
ReplyDeletehaha YES to ice cream sandwiches and S&TC marathons! xo jillian - cornflake dreams
ReplyDeleteLady DIY pinterest dates are tons of fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm coming over and we're going ALL OF THESE THINGS! Except the sparkler in the house, b/c I don't have a death wish.
ReplyDeleteYes to all of these thing!! #killedit
ReplyDeleteYes!!! My friends and I spent an entire summer during college watching every single SATC episode! I had totally forgotten about that - good times :)
ReplyDeleteI commented once and it didn't take! Damnit... Anyways.. I couldn't agree more with all of these! Except the 5am workout class. Hell to the no! Oh and you forgot about how women go to the bathroom in pairs or groups.. Men just don't understand that! Haha!
ReplyDelete"Nodding my head like yeah." Okay, sorry for getting that Miley song stuck in your head but YESSSS! To all of the above! haha!
ReplyDeleteHahaha I love this! I have a great group of girls I went to college with and I think we are guilty of all of these.
ReplyDeleteI love love love this post! So true! You rock Amanda!!
