Semi Charmed Summer Book Challenge Update

Just wanted to do a quick update of my book challenge, mainly for myself so that I can keep track.

5 points: Freebie! Read any book that is at least 200 pages long.

To Conquer Mr Darcy - 416 pages - Read May 31st. 

10 points: Read a book that was written before you were born.

Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen. 272 pages.

Read May 1st. 


15 points: Read a historical fiction book that does not take place in Europe.

The Light Between Oceans - M.L. Stedman. 352 pages.

Finished May 28th, review here.

20 points: Read a book that was/will be adapted to film in 2014.

The Fault in Our Stars - John Green. 318 pages.

Finished May 21st, review here.

10 points: Finish reading a book you couldn't finish the first time around.

Persuasion - Jane Austen. 288 pages. 

10 points: Read a book from the children’s section of the library or bookstore.

Matilda - Roald Dahl. 240 pages.

15 points: Read a book that is on The New York Times' Best Sellers List when you begin reading it.

Orphan Train - Christina Baker Kline. 308 pages. Currently #1 on the paperback trade fiction list.

15 points: Read a book another blogger has already read for the challenge.

I think I am going to read Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen which Carly has read. 383 pages.

20 points: Read a book with “son(s),” “daughter(s)” or “child(ren)” in the title.

The Snow Child - Eowyn Ivey. 416 pages.

I have no idea.
Update: upon a fabulous suggestion, I decided on The Pioneer Woman's Black Heels to Tractor Wheels. Boom.

25 points: Read a biography, autobiography or memoir. 

The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks - Rebecca Skloot. 400 pages.

30 points: Read a pair of books with antonyms in the titles.

The Paris Wife - Paula McLain and The Husband's Secret - Liane Moriarty. 352 and 417 pages, respectively.

  6. Love it!Good going and you're far along already! Ive read a couple on this list already. I used to read a book a week at one point. Sigh I wish life would give me more reading time. On the upside I read a LOT this weekend.

  9. I wish I had paid closer attention to this earlier and hopped on board. I'm a voracious reader and grossly competitive with myself once I set goals. Would have been perfect! haha X) though I am loving being introduced to new tittles to add to my list! Are you going to post reviews of each book you finish for this challenge?
