Randomness

The lovely Amy at Getz Girl On Fire tagged me in an oversharing request (my fave!) to share some random stuff about me. And as is my motto in life... why not?!

1. What's a nickname only your family calls you?

Well this is embarrassing. When I was born, I looked like a not cute pixie, and I had a.lot.a.lot.a.lot. of black hair that stood straight up. My uncle started calling me Woody Woodpecker and he still calls me Woody to this day, but only in public when he wants to embarrass me.

Here the ugliest baby you ever did see.

2. What's a weird habit of yours?

I count when I walk. I like even numbers. I can have 1 of something (like an ice cream or something) but I can't eat 3 starbursts. It has to be 1, 2 or 4 (well, let's be real more like 10 or 20). Likewise, if I am going to end on an uneven step, I take a smaller step to allow for another to fit, thus making the amount of steps to be even. I'm not weird at all.

3. Do you have any weird phobias?

I don't think they are weird but I am scared of pretty much everything that Natalie posted here. Oh and I am terrified - TERRIFIED - of this guy.

billy butcherson aka the guy in ALL OF MY NIGHTMARES since I was like 5
4. What's a song you secretly love to blast and jam out to when you are alone?

I like all kinds of music but when I'm alone I really love listening to the First Wives Club version of  'You Don't Own Me' and belting it out like I think I'm Bette Midler or something.

Also I wanted to point out that I completely left out number 4 when I originally posted this. Thanks for pointing it out Alyssa ;)

5. What's one of your biggest pet peeves?

I have discussed this before but I despise people eating with their mouth open. Or any loud obnoxious mouth noises. I will hit you.

6. What's one of your nervous habits?

My hands sweat. I play with my hair, fidget. Talk a lot. Keep talking.

7. What side of the bed do you sleep on?

If you are standing at the foot of the bed, the left.

8. What was your first stuffed animal and what was it's name?

I was given these two before I was born (so, they were given to my mum) and I have loved them all my life. I was supposed to leave them at home, because I was a grown up, but when I told my mum I was staying, she sent them to live with me. I cried my bloody eyes out because how could she mail them to me, they must have been so scared!

Their names are monkey & teddy. I know, aren't I brilliant at names? I imagine my first child's name will be Baby.

left is teddy and right is monkey but i can't say 'teddy and monkey'
i have to say 'monkey and teddy' but i didnt want you to be confused
and think i named a monkey teddy or a teddy monkey.

9. What's the drink you always order at Starbucks or Dunkin's?

I don't drink coffee, so I order a hot chocolate (with 1/2 the amount of chocolate) or a mocha creme frappuccino.

10. Which way do you face in the shower?

Forward unless I'm trying to get the soap out of my hair, then backwards directly under the spray.
I literally left this from Amy because it was the same. Ha!

11. Do you have any weird body skills?

Um, no. One of my knees likes to dislocate but I don't think that's a skill.

12. What is your favorite comfort food that you know is bad for you but you eat it anyway?

All of the food I eat. Chips & dip. Ice cream. Anything with gluten. Anything bad for you is yummy for me.

13. What is a phrase or exclamation you always say?

Ew.

14. What do you wear when you go to sleep?

Summer: tank and shorts or a nightie.
Winter: every article of clothing I own.

15. What did you used to wear that you thought was cool and now you realize it wasn't?

Everything. The worst was when I went through a phase of wearing baggy jeans that showed my underwear, and I would wear the thick banded bonds underwear (that most of you have likely never heard of) and then I would wear a tshirt that matched the underwear, and I would fold the tshirt up to reveal my awesome skin and to make the matchy matchy more obvious and stupid. Thankfully I do not have any photos of this horrible time in my life.

basically i thought i looked like this, but no no no. via

And because Amy gave the gift to me, I'm likewise hoping these ladies will overshare some randomness because I love to find more about peeps!

  1. I was an ugly baby, too! Everyone thought I was a boy. That's pretty funny that you used to wear baggy jeans with your undies hanging out, ha!

  2. This is SO fun! Aww you don't like Billy Butcherson?! I think I'm more scared on Winifred than I am him LOL! When I'm nervous and sober I don't talk at all. Like completely silent. But if I have a few drinks in me and I'm nervous I will not shut up. It's SO embarrassing either way!

  3. You are not alone. I count when I walk too and I like even numbers! The tv volume HAS to be on an even number.

  4. You are too funny! I'm pretty weird when I leave the house and check and re-check that everything is off and that i've locked the door (like 4 times)...it's the only thing I'm OCD with!! If it's any consolation I don't think you looked like Woody the Wood Pecker - even if you do show a picture!! I'm such a fan of french fries - why can't they be good for me!!??

  5. Okay I love that you sleep in nighties and call them that, cause sometimes people think I am an 80 year old woman when I use that term! Also, I sleep in full on sweats (hoodie and all) during the winter!

  6. I have a teddy bear named Teddy too- so original! And I think you need to do a side by side with Woody.

  7. haha great random facts! My family calls me Ermy which is a bit odd but I'm so used to it now I don't think twice. And Hocus Pocus is by far the best Halloween movie :)

  8. This was fun, but I have to say I loved Billy. He's creepy, but he's actually a nice zombie :)

  9. I'm 1000% with you on even numbers. AND OH MY GOD BILLY scared the ever-loving crap out of me and honestly kinda still does. Oh and don't feel bad about the baby hair thing, my grandmother says I looked like Jack Weston in my first baby pictures. (Google him, laugh at my pain.)

And thanks for the tag! I am a sucker for posts that involve me talking about myself, haha ;) Glad you're back! xo

  10. Oh I love this tag-- too funny! Isn't it true how the best comfort foods are usually the ones that are not good for you at all! Soo sweet your mom sent your stuffed animals!

  11. OMG I count when I walk too LMAO!!!
My family calls me Bell, like from Beauty and the Beast, but I have no idea why.

  12. Those are fun to read! My first stuffed animal, who I still have at my parents house, was a stuffed teddy bear that I named "Bear" - so original!

  13. hahahaha isn't that the guy from Hocus Pocus?!? I want to watch that movie now!

  14. Hahaha! Ice cream for me for sure, life would be perfect if ice cream was healthy...

  15. Oh my, you tagged moi? Why I am honored! Now I have something to post tomorrow :) I was going to do a lame bean soup recipe but we can save that for a rainy day! No one other than my lame ass self eats soup when it is 90 degree and 3459086% humidity.

I am weird about numbers too! My radio in my car has to be on an even number or 15. I love these questions because they are different! I want all the comfort food right now! RIGHT NOW!

  16. when i was little my elbow used to dislocate pretty easily. it was the worst!

  17. Haha yes to sweaty hands, counting steps (ALWAYS do this when going up/down stairs) and clarifying that monkey and teddy and in fact monkey and teddy. There are some couples where I have to say the one person's name before the other or it doesn't sound right (but I'm not weird at all either ha) ;)

    ReplyDelete
  18. I sometimes count my steps too...not as much anymore but it used to be an all the time thing. Or if I was walking up stairs...those bad boys ALWAYS got counted.

  19. This is so fun! I literally snorted when I read that you were afraid of Billy Butcherson! Hocus Pocus is one of my favorite movies and I always love the part when he rips open his mouth and yells at Bette Midler. He's a nice zombie!

  20. Uhm, so glad you tagged me in this b/c I wanted to do it anyway and now I won't look like such a creep! HOORAYYYYY! :D hahahahaha
Dude, you were a cute baby!
Double dude... I had a crush on Thackery Binx in that movie. To clarify: the boy version, not the cat version.

  21. Haha, this was so fun to read, and I think you were a cute baby!! Also we share many of the same pet peeves!

  22. Haha, the other day I took my nephew swimming and as his hair dried I moved it up - when he woke up the next morning he looks like woody!!! :) Too cute!

    ReplyDelete
  23. That baby picture is too funny, and I think that you were a CUTE baby!! So fun! :)

    ReplyDelete
  24. I love imagining you dressed like that. Seriously so fun!!! I might steal this.

    ReplyDelete
  25. CAN WE JUST TALK ABOUT MOUTH NOISES. Seriously the most disgusting thing ever. My office mate bites/sucks on his nails and chews his food with his mouth open and slurps at 100000 decibels. But I feel like an asshole if I ask to switch offices over mouth noises..

    ReplyDelete
  26. Omg gosh you were so cute what the hell are you talking about! AND SO MUCH HAIR!!! I love it and I swear Im not bullshitting you. I also count when I walk sometimes and I count random things and if I dont get it right I start over, Weird.

And lets not discuss 90's 'fashion' .. baggy jeans? needed to never ever happen.

You know Im jumping on this Thursday right???? So glad you tagged me!

  28. How fun!! Some of my answers (that I do in my head as I read the questions haha!) are the same as yours! And I LOL'd at what you wear to bed in winter - same here lady! Plus 2 or 3 blankets ;)

  29. hahahah! Love all this randomness! "I imagine I will have a child and name it baby" literally cracked me up! :) I don't think you were an ugly baby! But that nickname is quite hilarious! Mine was Rudy. Still get called that to this day. :) It is quite hilarious looking back on how we used to dress. Sometimes I look at other random people in public and think someday your going to wonder why you went out in public like that. Lol :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Clearly I'm tardy to the party, but STOP! You had me cracking up . . . my kids are all like, "What Mom?" I love all of these . . . my favorites are monkey teddy . . . I mean Monkey AND Teddy and the fact that they may have been scared in the mail. And you naming your baby "Baby!" I'm actually still giggling! Ahh, laughter is the best way to start the day! SO glad you're back!
