Weekend Recap

I did some shopping, some eating, some sleeping and some pride & prejudice watching. Sounds like an ideal day, am I right?

linking up with Katie
I learned that white shorts are super cute and adorable and awesome.

On everyone else.

On me:

I honestly couldn't tell where the shorts ended and my legs started. Seriously.

Coral shorts, on the other hand...

I learned that stripes are my fave. Ok, I already knew this. And if you follow me on instagram, you know it too.

Mossimo Maxi Dress on ze left, Mossimo Fit & Flare Dress on ze right

To those of you who saw my instagram post, I fell in love with the maxi like hardcore. But it was too big. Very boobalicious. So I went to the next Target less than 2 miles away in search of a smaller size, which I found and hated. I think the bigger size flowed better, didn't hug as much - and look how long it is!!!! So I ended up ordering the bigger one online (with a discount, what what) because I can just take it in and shorten the straps a bit.

I learned that when I want to, I can be more responsible with shopping. I saw tons of things that were cute and I might wear, but I was really good (for me) and only bought things I absolutely loved.

KC was gone all of Saturday until about 11pm at his school's BBQ. So I was all alone, and we all know what happens when I'm alone... hence the shopping, the eating and the general doing nothing.

Unfortunately, I ate so much bad food on Saturday that I swear I thought I was dying on Sunday. I feel like I could just not eat for a few days and I would still be full from Saturday.

We had plans to go out to lunch and a movie on Sunday, but after helping out cleaning and taking down the booths (muscles! only girl who helped, what what!) we went home and I crashed for about 4 hours, occasionally waking up to be sick.

I'm so ashamed, but onwards and upwards as they say. Sometimes you need a pig out to remind you why you don't pig out... right?

On a more positive note, I ordered my dresses for our anniversary trip. Thank you to everyone who helped me out with their opinions on this post. The dress I ended up choosing.... is none of the ones listed! I had forgotten about another dress that I had been coveting for so long. I had wanted to wear it to Derby, but it was booked out. It's a maxi, so I can wear flats and not tower over KC. I also got this one for the day time fun, and decided to go with this one for an upcoming wedding - it was without a doubt the most popular from that post, I was so shocked!

Happy Monday everyone :)

  3. Oh Darling I understand the need to wear flats at "Date Night/Day" events. My sweet hubby is my EXACT height when we are barefoot. Heels make me taller, he says he loves it but I prefer to not feel like I'm storming the city :)

  4. I loved your Target finds (yes, even the deep-V!) and it took everything I had to not get in the car and go to Target yesterday. Now that is some self restraint!!

I like your Rent the Runway choices! You're going to be the poster-child of the guest photo submissions :)

  7. YAY! Glad you ordered your anniversary dress! :) Can't wait to see pics of it! Girl, I do the same pig out thing and totally regret it. I did it yesterday and felt SO sick last night and this morning. I'm starting to feel better now but the thought of food is not at all appetizing. I don't even want to step on the scale at the gym. Have a great Monday!

  8. I feel you on the pig outs. Pete and I try to eat healthy about 90% of the time but about once every week or so we have MAJOR pig out sessions (like, literally SPLIT a pie in half in addition to other nonsense) and hate ourselves the next day! hahah

  9. Yay so glad you got the maxi and the short dress is just as adorable! And if it makes you feel any better I ate horribly this weekend too! I even had a slurpee from 7eleven which is pure sugar! I haven't had one in years and it just sounded so good haha! Happy Monday!

I actually rocked a similar maxi dress this weekend and I always feel a little too boobalicious myself...but zero effs given. Haha. I just love it too much. And only buying things I LOVE is always a shopping victory for me. I usually just buy allllll the things!!

  13. It's a super cute dress. I went to Target yesterday to find it but I couldn't. Instead I bought the rest of the store. Because I needed it. lol.

I binged yesterday and felt like crap all day. I blame the manfriend.

  14. Can't wait to see what dress you ended up picking!! Love the two lace ones too :) Hope you are feeling better! Aaron and I pigged out this weekend too and I always feel like sh*t afterwards and wonder to myself why I did it?? Back on the healthy diet today!! ;))

  15. Yay for picking a dress!! All of those dresses were so cute, I want them all. But not to rent, I want them permanently in my closet and that would be expensive. And I am right there with you on the eating too much/shopping online when I'm home alone. The 8 months I lived on my own last year were GREAT for the online shopping industry- especially since I lived where there weren't any great malls.

  16. Sounds like a great weekend. Love both of those striped dresses!

  17. Both dresses you picked are so pretty! I love stripes too. I think 95% of my dresses are striped. It happens. And I look awful in white shorts for the same reason. That...and I feel anything white on me makes me look like a puffy marshmallow. Not a good look for me.

    Have a great week!

  18. Both dresses look great on you! I've also been trying to only buy things that I really love, but it's so hard! :/

  20. yeah!!!!! Those were two of my favorite ones! I'm so glad I got to be involved in your shopping escapades this weekend! Bad food eating....I mean that is what the weekends are for. Then eat healthy during the week and back to things loaded in cheese for the weekend.....it's all about moderation? ;-) Can't wait to see those dresses on you they are gorgeous!!!

  21. Not that I needed a reason, but Target here I come for some more dresses!

  23. haha - a dark horse won the dress challenge :) Cant wait to see pictures.
I hate when I make myself miserable eating. It's a good way to kick yourself in the butt & say "wont be doing that again"
    Hope you're doing better today!

  27. OK, have you looked at these pics of you? HELLO you're hot. What kind of nonsense are you telling me that you can't pull off the things I wear. YES YOU CAN!! Loving those striped dresses from Target. I might have to start avoiding your blog back so I'm not tempted to be even MORE stuff at Target. LOL!

  29. I love the maxi dress. Good find and you got a sale. I only recently started altering clothes and it's made such a difference! Who knew a little hem here and a little strap shortening here would make a dress fit perfectly.

  30. I love the Maxi dress you picked. I think that color is lovely. It's okay to pig out every once in a while. It happens to the best of us.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Haha!!! This was too funny. But stripes...stripes are looking good on you girl. The fit and flare, perfection!

  36. I wish I looked cute in a maxi but it just does not work for me :) I like the stripes. We are on a total detox this week (all veggie based meals), as we ate 2 dinners almost the whole trip (I'm not joking) :)

  38. yes eating and shopping too when my husband is gone all day now that i have a baby sometimes it is easier to stay at home so less shopping and more digging in the frig to find out what the heck i bought at the grocery store only to find out none of it tastes as good as food made by someone else ;-)

  39. Such a bummer you were sick on Sunday! That is never fun. When my husband is gone, I'm the exact.same.way. I usually order sushi because he hates it, I don't get dressed all day and I binge watch all the shows he can't stand (aka everything on Bravo), ha! Loving both the dresses you picked out - I've never used RTR before so I can't wait to hear your review!

  40. I love the long sleeve lace teal dress!! adorbs! I'm feeling the same way about food currently. I had like 7 cookies yesterday. I wasn't sorry at the time but I am now. And will be when I have to put a swim suit on this weekend. #ugh #poorlifechoices.

  41. I seriously love that striped maxi and I"m contemplating going to target on my way home to try it on. I seriously hate it when I pig out, I immediately feel like crap and regret it but I swear I cannot stop myself sometimes.

  42. Nice score on the striped maxi! Good idea to get it bigger and tailor it to suit you.

  43. That striped maxi is adorable and now I need it! I totally had a pig out this weekend just to remind me why I don't really want to be pigging out ;) Happy Monday!! xo

  47. Can't wait to see what dress you picked out for the anniversary dinner. I'm all about flats too with my husband because he's a shorty and I'm tall. Flat footed, we are the exact same height. Love the stripped maxi and the dress for the wedding. You got some good taste, doll!
