Summer lovin'..

I know, I know. Spring barely has her foot in the door and I'm already all summer where you at?

I love, love, love the heat. Like crazy. And I hate AC. I know, I'm weird.

Anywho...

I am daydreaming about summer, which means I am daydreaming about summer outfits... And thought I would share some of my current covets.

I'm loving these basic dresses - easily dressed up or down, all of them come in different colours, the H&M and F21 ones are super cheap.. I think I might have to get me five one.

one / two / three /

As always, maxi dresses are some of my favourite summer go-tos. I am really digging the striped one below, and I ordered it - too short and I'm not even that tall. So, you shorties get on that! I'll order the floral one.. darn you and your cute clothes F21.

one / two / three

Unlike me, you might be invited to tons of fun soirees and parties and weddings during the summer. If I were to have such a social life, I would definitely buy all one of these for all the fancy things I'd be doing.

five / six / seven / eight /

Instead, I'm gonna be bummin' around, havin' a blast, chillin' in my shorts and tank tops. I bought some polka dot shorts at the end of last summer, and it was too cold to wear them by then (but I got them for like $6, so, I win) and I just bought a new pair of denim shorts... so, hurry up short weather. Imma wear the heck out of those shorts.

What are your thoughts on lace shorts? I bought #8, but let me give you a heads up - one size means extra small to small, which I am not. So if you're a skinny minnie, get on that.

For some reason, I am loving the idea of skirts during the summer. I kinda really want a chambray skirt. If that's wrong, I don't want to be right. No but really, tell me if I need to check myself before I wreck myself.

three / four
Honestly though, some of the skirts I see for 'fun' and not work all I can think of is whose butt is that covering? Cause it ain't mine. Why can't someone make a cute skirt (or four) that isn't midi, but isn't heyIcanseeyourunderwear mini?

Anywho. Thanks for indulging my summer outfit dreaming. Technically all of these can be worn any time you want, but whatever trevor. Let me have my fun.

  2. This post made me so happy because literally as I was looking at the shorts I was going "I love the lace ones butttttt" I mean I have a pair of lace shorts I got like 4 years ago before I swear they were cool #aheadofthecurve (yes I just did that) but I have no idea how to wear them. A shirt tucked in looks kinda odd, shirt over it....hiding the detail..... I finally did a tucked in button down with a blazer and heels. I mean it looked amazing in the Pinterest world but not for everyday life. Cracking up about if you had a social life. I tell you how many times I try on things and go "well I mean I have nothing to wear it to so......" Chambray and polka dots I love it right there with yah girl....if it's wrong then I don't want to be right with you! Thanks for checking in yesterday it made me so happy! xoxoxoxo

  3. I love maxi dresses! They are my favorite thing to wear in the summer! No pants for the win!
I do however HATE the heat. Summer is my least favorite because if I'm not in the gym sweating then I don't like it. I have to sweat with a purpose and walking from my apartment to my car is NOT a purpose.

  4. I love all of these! I'm a huge maxi dress fan, but lately I've been loving shorts a lot more than I used to as well!

  5. Loving your pics! I am planning a big shopping day in the next couple weeks, so that I can add to my summer wardrobe! Chasing around a toddler has put my short sundresses in the back of the closet, so I am gonna embrace the maxi this year!

  12. I need to stop reading your posts at work because I spend the next hour online shopping... but really I LOVE these shorts. And the maxi dresses at forever 21 are sooo hit or miss! They look great but I hate when the fabric is flimsy and by the end of the day it looks like i'm wearing a long bag.

  17. Love love the lace shorts! Are they really only $6.90?! I get nervous ordering things that are "one size fits all" but for that price I may have to try them out!

  18. Ah summer! It is my favorite too. I'd MUCH rather be hot than cold, but most people think that is crazy :) Maxis are definitely my go-to in the summer. But I'm tall, so I have to be sure on the length!

  19. I love #6 under your party dress section. I love the hot weather and I hate when the A/C is up too much. Luckily I have windows in my office and will open them on warm days to combat the A/C :) P jokes about my "summer" cardigans but most places have the A/C to high for me to sit comfortably inside. I need some new skirts for summer! I just bought a cute dress from Boden that excited to wear but I need a cardigan to go with it :)

  27. I looooove maxi dresses! I used to be all about "tight, tight, tight" all.the.time. Now, I like things that are a little flowier and more "classy" then they are "sexy."

  28. I so wish my short body could rock a maxi! I love them so much! Great picks :)

  29. Love those dresses and shorts!! And I need more maxi's....yeah I have the same problem...I'm not short. So many of those dresses are too short for me :(

  30. I'm loving spring, but I can't wait until it gets a bit warmer here. I'm always hesitant to buy dresses online because of how tall I am. Once I bought one and kept it as a shirt! :)

  31. I haaaate AC! It just feels so unnatural to me...that probably sounds weird too!

  37. You love the heat? You should definitely take a trip to Guam! It's 88 degrees right now with humidity at 66%. Some days I walk out of my air conditioned office and my face starts melting!

  38. Are we twins!? I HATE the AC. It gets pretty hot and humid where I live and I don't turn AC on in my apartment. I get way too cold. I'd rather a cross breeze to cool me down when it gets too hot, and it rarely gets too hot for me haha. EVERYONE thinks I'm crazy.

  39. But what bikini did you get????

  40. I don't love A/C, it is very drying on the skin. But currently traveling through Cambodia and Vietnam during dry season and NEED the A/C here right now! Not only does it keep temperatures manageable, but also helps keep the mosquitoes at bay:)
