Humpity Hump Hump ... Hump.

It's Wednesday... You know what that means! Linking up with Kathy for the boring edition of confessions... I'm boring today because I think my bitchiness retreats when I am this close to a holiday. How close, you ask? We leave for Aus in one week and one day y'all!
ps. fun fact, what you call 'vacation' we call 'holiday'. crazy shit, I know.

I have so much work to do.. even more so because I am leaving soon (one week + one day!) but I keep reading & commenting on blogs. This is going to hurt me, I know it. Must. stop.

When I think about possibly one day having a baby, it doesn't freak me out that much. When I think about having a child (which apparently babies turn into..) I freak the effing buggery out. I get all sweaty and my heart beats fast and other bad things. I am not ready for a person with opinions and a personality that talks back.

I get SO mad when I see a person on a motorbike without a helmet. Like, I want to slam my car into them so they can realise just why a helmet is so bloody important. I don't understand why its the law in some states and not others! All the stupids.

I have smelly feet problems. I know, gross. It's not my feet, but my shoes. I can't wear shoes for very long before I have to throw them out because the smell retains. Yup.

I HATE when people tell me something about Australia is 'wrong' just because it's different and it's not what THEY know and YEAH. all the caps. Number 1 offender: telling me Christmas in Summer is wrong. You know what's wrong? Snow. Snow is stupid. Cold Christmases are stupid. So there.

Ahem. I'm calm now. I don't care when Christmas is. But all of my memories are playing cricket while my uncle cooked the food on the BBQ and we all complained how hot it was and then it rained 10 seconds later. So it's not wrong it's just different. OK?
wrong
rôNG/
adjective
  1. 1.
    not correct or true.
    "that is the wrong answer"

dif·fer·ent
ˈdif(ə)rənt/
adjective
  1. 1.
not the same as another or each other; unlike in nature, form, or quality.
"you can play this game in different ways"

before anyone gets their knickers in a knot, I love America. A lot. But I like my country too, and get weirdly protective of it.

I have spotify on my computer at work, and I have everything from Elvis, to country, to Disney to that talk dirty song. And I sing along and dance allll the time. No shame. I know this is a boring confession, but I am not joking when I say I'm breaking it down all day erryday (seriously, how do I get any work done).

Which leads to my next confession... one of my favourite songs to jam to, really gets me pumped and happy is You Don't Own Me... The First Wives Club version. Who knew Goldie could sing?

To keep up with the boring, this is me every day without fail:

As soon as I wake up: BREAKFAST TIME!!!
10 minutes later: Is it acceptable to have lunch now?
10 minutes after lunch: WHAT'S FOR TEA?! tea = dinner. remember, not wrong, just different ;)

I hate hate hate hate when people link to things I can't afford (unless they are worth it like these here tights that I NEED thanks to Amanda). Like ooh look at this dress I am wearing, I bought it from a thrift store but here's a similar one. Click on similar, oh it's only $300, I bet you paid a similar price at Goodwill.

It makes me irrationally mad when I visit all the links in a link up and someone has a post that is absolutely not related to the link up, but they linked up anyway. NO. So I x out of that bitch faster than... something fast. I will not reward your bad behaviour!

Ok but for reals, I have to go do some work now. So, I still love you all and will comment and respond back but it will most likely be tonight. Don't hate me too much, and if you do, well buggery to you.
ps. one week and one day!

  1. So with you on the motorcycles without helmets! I'm a nurse who works on a unit where people wait for heart and lung transplants - we call people who ride without helmet organ donors because that's usually what they become! Such a stupid thing to do!

  2. Haha this has made me laugh so much. I am always thinking about food, I have usually eaten all of my major meals by like midday! Oh and Christmas in the Summer IS so right, those haters just haven't tried it yet! Happy Wednesday! :)

  3. hahahahahaah you're not the first blogger who said that people who linkup that have nothing to do with that link up angers them.

also, one blogger was saying how there were all these great sales so when i clicked on the link, dress for $69? that ain't no sale!! a sale is under $20!

    thanks for linking up!

  5. Ha! I love that you break it down at work, I used to be the same. It's the only way to make the day go by faster and not die of boredom!
Yay to one week and a day!!!

  6. hahaaha I may not be from Oz but I can relate as well being from the Caribbean. hate when people act like different is wrong. Ah well. Also I love small kids so much and babies. haha its crazy how much! Oh and I agree with the link up thing.

  7. OMG Girl, no joke I have the same fear about the babies turning into children! I'm cool with something that can't walk or talk back but as soon as I can lose that thing... the fear kicks in full gear! I have been SO stabby lately over bloggers who post stuff that doesn't make sense. I have no idea why (must be near that time of the month or something) but yeah, totally irrationally mad! And I'm right there with you, I totally break it down all day too! Why not?

  9. I didn't know tea was dinner. Are you expected to drink tea at your third meal of the day?

And I'm the opposite of you - a little kid who likes stuff sounds like fun to me, but giving birth and staying up all night with a baby sounds really hard. Want to trade if that time ever comes?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Tea = dinner ?? No way I thought it was just that afternoon snack time. You're so cute, different and RIGHT!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Haha the linking to things you can't afford is tough...I've only done it once that I can think of and once that dress goes on sale you best believe I am buying it! I know what you mean about being so not productive when you're close to a vacation - it's like your mind is consumed with packing and the fun that is about to commence!! First Wives Club is one of my favorite all time movies - MORTIE!!!

  12. LOVE these confessions!! So many things I can relate to. ESPECIALLY the one about linking to a way higher priced item when they got theirs for a bargain. If you're going to do that, at least warn me it's expensive. It feels like a mean trick. Plus, half the time "similar" means "it might have one color the same as what I have." So...not similar at all. And sorry that masses in the States don't understand the difference between "wrong" and "different." I agree that "wrong" is WAY over-used!

  13. Hahaha! I always love your confessions!! Cracking up about the baby thing because I just told my husband that! I totally don't mind babies even though they cry but when the kid becomes like 5 and gets super annoying I don't know if I can handle that. I just pray every day my kid won't be annoying... So excited for you! Aussie trip in one week!! Oh and the whole linking to something that's like 300$ they found at the thrift shop annoys the crap out of me too!! When I look for similars I always put the price under 50$ unless I seriously can't find anything that look remotely similar then I'll bump up the price but that annoys me too when I have to do that haha!

  14. Ugh, that's just rude saying wrong instead of different. I would probably be semirude and say weird, because Christmas has always been cold and snowy for me, but that doesn't mean in the warm summer it's wrong. people are just rude!

I love the first wives club. I watched it last week and I LOVE that song. YOU DON'T OOOOOOOOOOOOOOWN ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    The gibbs slap, my fave!

  15. This made me laugh so much! I always feel like people who join linkups when their post or blogs don't relate are kind of sneaky-- if it's an honest mistake or perhaps they don't understand that's fine, but it often appears like they're trying to trick you into reading their blog! Not a fan! I'm the opposite of you, I would like a 2-year-old or older, I'm still so, so nervous about babies!

  16. Happy Holiday in one week and one day :)!! The linking up off topic seems to be a button pusher this week, note to self to avoid :) I think that scene was my favorite part of the whole movie.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Ohhh I love it!! :D Yes to it ALL!! Music all day everyday!! And people without helmets make me craazzyyyy!! I agree!! I just want to ''tap'' them with the car to make a point! haha!! And please.. noooo outside posts.. Its so lame!! I always get my panties in a twist whenever I see that 'ish! Its like... NO just NO!! Get outta here lol! And I thought I was the only one who had that daily schedule, lol! Food please!! XD

  18. This post made me laugh so hard. I totally do the breakfast/lunch thing, too!

I think your Australia-isms are super. I have another blogger friend from Australia and I love how differently she says stuff. And you're right. Snow is stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Food is definitely one of my favorite parts of the day haha. And people on motorcycles without helmets?! That's just something I'll never understand. Have a happy Humpday!

    ReplyDelete
  20. This is GREAT!! You never disappoint. And who needs a musical when you have that BRILLIANT seen from first wives club. I saw that movie with my mom when I was a kid and re re-created that seen at home with my sister and I in the living room later that night. GOOD TIMES!! And I am the same way about breakfast and then lunch five minutes later.

  21. I am terrified of having a teenager! So, I am on the fence about having any babies at all, because they turn into teenagers. ;)

I love, love, love the First Wives Club! Such a great movie.

I have noticed the super expensive thing a lot in blogland. I have stopped clicking on most stuff because there is no way I can afford $300 sandals.

    ReplyDelete
  22. ah! I should be working too....yeaaa about thaaatt....hahaha love it! I want to go watch the 1st Wives Club now- it has been way too long. Also, I feel the same way about food and want some now..haha Great post! xoxo (Also, just to make you feel better...my flats get like that and I have to buy new ones! ugh)

    ReplyDelete
  23. This post was far from boring! You're pretty awesome at entertaining! I didn't grow up with white/freezing cold Christmases either so I get that confession entirely. lol Happy hump day!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Excuse me there is nothing boring about this post! First off how did I not pick up on the fact that you are Australian?! I love it, don't hate me for being a bad follower. And oh my do I love You dont own me from the first wives club! So good!! I have the same smelly foot problem and it drives me bonkers, hate it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. YES to so much here! Especially the bloggers that join linkups just to get people to visit their page! Drives me crazy!! My entire day revolves around food, too. I'm constantly thinking about what the next thing I'm going to eat it is - probably why I like meal planning, ha! And the baby thing is starting to freak me out, too but only because the idea of actually having one doesn't seem quite as scary anymore.. and this is shocking me! I'm growing up!

    ReplyDelete
  26. hahaha i'm dying laughing now. Amen to blogland sucking you in. Clearly, that's what's happening to me right now. No complaints here though. Happy Hump Day! xo

    ReplyDelete
  27. I love the First Wives Club!!!! You make me want to watch that movie right now!!! Them signing is one of my favorite parts!

I hate when people link to expensive shit too. Like...we are all bloggers here....not celebrities, calm, your tits!

I usually have a problems with flats smelling unless they are real leather. Gross.

I look at the helmet law as sort of the same thing as a warning on a tag. If you are dumb enough to do something even though you know better...then we are just weeding out all the stupid people and letting the problem take care of itself....lol. Survival of the fittest!

  28. Im so down for Christmas in the summer... I hate the cold weather!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Warm Christmases don't sound so bad. I think I could get used to those.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Hahahaha.... yeah, I should be working right now too! Couldn't agree more on the helmet law. I am so thankful my husband wears a helmet, but I think it should be mandatory. I mean, wearing a seat belt is law but not a helmet?!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Do you really have Christmas in summer, or do you do it twice a year? I'm confused! :) Also, you don't own me used to be my jam.Now I'm going to have to go add it to a playlist.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Having a child which will one day be a teenager freaks me out, too. What if it's mean and doesn't like me?? I have to Gold Bond my feet every day, don't feel bad. I work evenings, so I usually end up eating breakfast at 10 and lunch at 12 x).

    ReplyDelete
  33. I hate when people do that in link ups too... stupid.
I swear, I just said that about food. I always am planning when the next meal is & count down.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Okay, first of all, I LOVE that song!! I used to watch that part of the movie on repeat. Haha. I pretty much jam out (and dance) to Spotify all day too, except when I'm teaching. :) Also, people are just set in their ways. I mean, obviously the Christmas climate is going to be different depending on where you live. It doesn't make it any less like Christmas. People should just get over it. (BTW it doesn't snow down here for Christmas.)

    ReplyDelete
  35. OMG! I love First Wives Club... almost as much as I love Grease. I don't know why, but those two movies make my heart go flutter. And it also pisses me off when people link to super expensive stuff, I can't afford any of that! Get outta here with that.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm excited for your "Holiday" And yes I will now start callin my dinner tea b/c it makes me feel classy lol. I'm so excited for your trip b/c you know I'm gonna pretend I'm the one on the trip even though I've never been to australia. Fun Fact my best friend was born there though but obvi moved shortly thereafter. She still has dual citizenship though.

    ReplyDelete
  37. GIRL. I feel you. I'm technically behind on a project at work but I'm behind on my blog roll too. Guess which one I'm spending my time on today?? oh well.
And I was just saying this a couple days ago, but the baby part doesn't bother me. It's the kid/pre-teen/teenager that scares me!
& how dare someone say something like that to you! I do agree though, snow is SO WRONG. And I've lived in NJ for 25 years where we get snow every damn winter. It's still wrong.
I didn't know tea = dinner though, that's interesting! I figured it would be like a late afternoon snack or something. Learning new things every day!

    ReplyDelete
  38. my friend swears by putting baking soda in his shoes at the end of every day to prevent the smells!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Tea is dinner?? How awesome, I'm stealing that. And they make a shoe spray, I had to get it for my daughter's volleyball shoes cause I swear they smell like parmesan cheese lol. Google it cause I can't remember the name:) And I'm with you on the link up thing... please confess something here on this one!!! You did good!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I love love love all the Aus words in here. Tea + dinner! Love it. I want to start using buggery too. I hate why I seeing people not wearing helmets! One saved my life once so I will always wear one!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. First I love all your CW gifs. (Yes I prefer teen tv shows to real tv ha!) And I completely agree about the link up thing! It's cheating. Also, the thought of a baby is not so bad, but a bratty child sounds terrible. I'll take a baby that remains a toddler thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Bahaha I love all of the gifs! I'm with you on the linking to more expensive product thing for sure! Don't tell me your $20 dress is sold out and then say there's a similar one for $400. That's not similar! That's just dumb!

    ReplyDelete
  43. So with you on the helmets thing!! And I listen to Spotify all day long too at work - I absolutely CANNOT work without music playing in the background...pretty sure people have walked by my office tons of times and caught me singing...out loud ;) haha!

    ReplyDelete
  44. AAH so true about babies becoming people. And God forbid when they start sassing and sneaking out and who knows what else (I neverrrr did that hah). Yay for almost your trip home! I HATE snow so summer + Christmas (which it sometimes feels like in SC for the holidays) is perfection.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Hahaha! You crack me up, Kristen! Work really gets in the way of my blogging too :-p I think it's awesome that your Christmas is in the summer! That's how it is in Brazil and many of my friends are from there. I hate snow too but that's because I'm from Texas and am a weenie when it comes to cold. I also hate it when people link up and it's unrelated!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Snow is the worst! I wish it was summer year round. And I wish I had a money tree so I could buy all the great things Amanda shares!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I don't understand why people don't wear helmets either. I also have a smelly feet problem, ain't no shame ha...ok a little...I wish it would go away. I'm dancing & singing all day long too. In my car, at work, at home, anywhere & everywhere. Pinterest outfits piss me the eff off because you're all "ohh that's cute! Let me just see...WTF?!" And finally, people that link up unrelated posts do not get read...they get side eye.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Chica, I feel your pain - I have the same smelly shoe issue. Sigh, it sucks! Snow is stupid!!! I live in California and just don't understand how people manage. Warm Christmas' sounds so lovely. Continue with your own personal dance party it's the only way to do it!!! I'm just rocking out to Bobby Brown over here so no judgment ;)

    ReplyDelete
  49. having babies freaked out me and then we decided to just let it happen when it happened and well it happened so i kinda had to get over the freaking out because well there was a baby growing in me so had to channel my freaking out making a nursery look super cute and what maternity clothes can i wear that don't make me look like a whale

    ReplyDelete
  50. I'm not a huge fan of blogs which focus only on things you can buy. I don't have dollas, that's why I write a blog (that's FREE) to entertain myself. Please don't show me your $100 strappy sandals with your $150 dress with your $40 necklace and $200 clutch... I just have so many better things to spend my money on.. like my car payment or car insurance or dog food.

Equally annoying is seeing something completely adorable and even affordable on Pinterest (or wherever) and then you click on it and you've decided you're gonna bite the bullet and purchase it and the shipping costs more than the item. NO. Fuck off assholes.

    ReplyDelete
  51. OHMYGOSH I love that we both put the thing about link-ups in our posts today! People are such assholes!!! Same deal w/ spammers who leave dumb ass comments just to get their name out there. I'm deleted that shit! How RUDE!
    Y'know what's wrong w/ Australia? Tampons w/o applicators... :P

    ReplyDelete
  52. Bwahaha. I really really hate when I can't afford that dress / coffee table book / LIFE. #rude

  53. I'm so excited for your vacation but that is going to be a lot of time away from us not being able to communicate like very hour hahahaha just kidding but not.....you are going to have such an amazing time!!!
-Babies no big deal....little humans??? Pass me the bag!
-I love how you said motorbikes and bloody hell in all one paragraph....it made me happy and I imagined you saying it in your cute accent (which I'm of course assuming what it sounds like ;-)
    -Yup...same....moving on.....
-Do people walk by and see you breaking it down?? I would love to see this!
-Ummmm I say all the time I'm just different....not wrong or CRAZY thank you very much!
-bahahahahaha I know girl! I can't stand the huge fashion bloggers who like link their Chanel bags I'm like.....ummmmm that's a mortgage for like 4 months. Those tights are totally on sale now...just saying. I bought them in blue to celebrate the occasion.
-I'm also very close to booting those said offenders out of my linkup.....is that bad of me? Like you didn't even mention my blog name jerk....I'm glad you don't reward their asshole behavior.
-Girl look at you! Killing it with the comments! You are such a funny girl love it!!! I'm going to miss you!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I seriously love love love coming to your page! I always leave in a much better mood than when I arrive. Your wit is just marvelous! And I loathe when someone says "that's just wrong" about something that is just different. It's beyond annoying. Like do you think you are that much better than everyone else that you get to determine what is "right/wrong" in the world? Gimme a break! Anyway, can't wait to hear about your holiday in Australia! :)

    ReplyDelete
  55. Ugh to the people who link up their blog but didn't actually "link up"....CHEATERS! Glad we share the same sentiment. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  56. But for reals how do people spend so much money on clothes ? Or better yet how do they get them for free ?!!! I need

    ReplyDelete
  57. Lol I loved this made me laugh.
I had actually never even thought about Christmas in summer in other countries until talking to another blogger in Australia and realized that DUH the seasons were during different times. I'm a bit of a ditz like that.

    ReplyDelete
  58. i am A ok with christmas in summer. who the hell needs snow anyway? eskimos maybe.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Bahahha! I will not support that bad behaviour! ;) First of all, amen to motorcyclist without helmets! Hello IDIOTS! :) I can't believe you aussies call vacation a holiday! I think it's kind of cute! :) So is the "tea" for dinner thing! Too funny! Where I live (which is only two hours north of where I grew up) they call lunch - dinner. And dinner - supper. It's weird. I always get so confused when the hubs is like Hey are we going to Ma's for dinner? And then at noon he's like WTF are you doing?! We're going to be late for dinner! I'm all like waaaait what?! Dinner? Now? Oooooh... you mean lunch. Ahem. :)

    ReplyDelete
  60. Okay so your confessions post? SO much win. I thought I was totally alone on that First Wives Club song and I jam out to that like a boss every single time. And as a Chicagoan, snow can go eff itself all day everyday. It's all fun and games on Christmas day...but that is IT. So jealous of your non-snowy weather. I should also be working...probably...but now I just want to jam out to "You Don't Own Me."

    ReplyDelete
  61. My work shoes always stink. Whyyyyy. I throw out a pair or four every summer.

Pennsylvania is a ride helmet or not state. I don't understand choosing not to wear one.

    ReplyDelete
  62. my shoes also smell if i don't throw them away after wearing them for like 10 times. you know what worked for me? buying more shoes. then i have more shoes to rotate so i wear them less often. yeah... that's rational. :P

laughing so hard at the thrifted $300 dress. i would never do that, unless i actually paid $300 for a dress which i have only done once in my life (hi, prom!).

    ReplyDelete
  63. You might find your confessions boring, but I found them rather amusing!

I know what you mean about calling things wrong when what they really mean is different! I am a US expat living in Singapore and have a similar experience (often about what I consider breakfast food!)….

I totally understand your excitement about traveling home! We are going to Germany (my second home to spend time with family) in August for 3 weeks and I am beyond myself!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Girlfriend, I am SOO with you on the helmet thing... What are they thinking?!

    ReplyDelete

Thank you so much for your comment! I reply to my comments via email, but I can't do that if you are a no-reply blogger.
