April Budget

It's that time of month again. No, not that time - get your mind out of the gross.

I’m linking up with
Franish & the Budgeting Bloggers for my second, less terrifying, but still embarrassing, shopping budget.

I started off the month doing much better than last month. Last month I bought 35 items. I actually returned / sold some of them, so yay for me!

I tried to go slow and steady this month, and it was kinda working. Then, I don't know what happened.. Sigh. I am embarrassed at how much I spend on things. I have
got to rein myself in.

I know Loki. I'm so sorry.
I also sold so much stuff, I pretty much made money - however, the majority of the money made went towards the girls trip and Australia stuff. I would say that 80% of my purchases were made with paypal money. I don't want to use paypal to cushion my budget though. I returned a few things I bought this month, including 2 of the modcloth purchases I made last weekend.

Tops:

sweater (returning) / vest from poshmark / sweater from target / forever 21 cardigan off ebay
chambray / mint and coral tanks / lace tank
floral tank / blue floral tank / lace tee off ebay / PRIDE & PREJUDICE TEE

Bottoms:

denim shorts / coral skirt / distressed jeans / polka dot jeans off ebay / chambray skirt

Dresses:

striped maxis / black dress / striped dress / coral maxi

Shoes, Accessories etc:

sam & libby flats / wanted boots off amazon / leopard print scarf off ebay
madeline flats / 2 pack belts / red scarf off ebay
2 necklaces off ebay / snood (returning)

I bought items in store, on poshmark, on eBay, on sale.. The average for each item was about $10, and the most expensive was $30. But still. That's a lot of items, so it adds up fast enough.

I haven't received everything, so I might still return a few things.

Total Spent: A lot of money. More than last month. Less than I made selling things, but regardless, a lot of money.

Ok, for reals, May will be different. I have a problem.

For funsies, here are my May goals (not all related to shopping):

1. Buy no more than 10 things - not including groceries, house stuff, gifts and the like.

2. No budget persay, but do not go over $150.

3. Exercise for at least 30 minutes a day - if one day is not possible (i.e Derby or sick) can make up for it by doubling up another day - but don't do this too often.

4. Lose 5 pounds. I would like to lose 10, but lets not get greedy or crazy. I don't mind if the scale doesn't move as much, but the clothes need to fit better.

5. Eat really well. No treats. No ice cream, no fast food, no candy, no soda, no no no.

That's all folks - have a lovely Thursday - tomorrow is Friday (and a half day for me!)

  2. Honestly if you're buying things for no more than $30 you're a great bargain shopper so nothing to be too mad about and like you said you're planning on returning a few more things, so it's not as bad as you thought!!

  3. I'm trying to stay away from treats this month too, it's my weakness for sure. I truly feel so much better and have more energy when I'm not indulging in daily sweets. Makeup is my weakness too, I spend way too much on it!

  6. I really love the set up of this post. I want to do this for the Month of May. It's like an accountability sheet but way more pretty and colorful to look at. I love that coral maxi. Do you need to wear a slip or is there enough coverage?

  11. I probably should take a deeper look at my shopping habits but I dont want to, lol! I'm scared! I was just thinking about my budget this morning though so maybe this is a sign. Good luck with your goals! You can do it!

  12. Pros: You got great pieces that aren't trendy AND the average price point is amazing! Loving your goals for the month. There's a great app (pretty sure it's free) called Lose It! that is super-simple to use and you can enter any food, exercise (vacuuming counts!) and tracks your goals and calories used/consumed. Happy May!

  14. I hear you. I don't post my budget stuff on my blog, but I do write a pretty detailed one every month and April... just got away from me. I'm allowing myself to do some clothes spending this month though — gotta perk up that spring/summer wardrobe in case summer EVER actually arrives here! Btw, those tops and dresses are just way too cute!

  30. We all have bad months but I think the "no more than 10 items" rule will help. I actually kind of like that idea;) maybe I'll borrow it for May. But you did get a lot of really cute items, I especially like those striped maxi dresses, they look so comfortable and stylish.
