Today imma talk about the funsies. Shoes, bags & accessories. This little area is where I am my most obsessed, though you wouldn't know it from looking at my outfits. I love bags, wallets, shoes, scarves.. so much fun!
Shoes.
I'm not gonna go all crazy and list all the shoes. Just a few.
It took me many years to realise that not all heels are comfortable. I don't particularly like high heels anymore (over 3 inches) and I love me some wedges. There's nothing better than finding a perfect pair of shoes that fit, are in your price range and don't hurt like a mother.

To me, the essential heels are black and nude. Boom, done.

one / two (these come in nude too, so fetch!) / three (also in other colours - i have them in nude, love!) / four / five (these come in ALL the colours) / six (these come in black and mint!) / |
Of course, that's not all I own. Patterns, bright colours.. such fun! I think a pair or two of 'different' shoes are a great addition to any wardrobe, and can really change an outfit.

I love me some flats as well. Again with the black, but I also love tan flats. I guess those are the essentials, but I totally rock my 'natural' (beige with a pink tinge) and leopard print flats way more than the black or tan. So I guess really, I would say any 2 flats are essential. Whatever works!
Boots, boots, glorious boots!
My mum has 57 pairs of boots. That is not an exaggeration. She loves them. So I don't know why it took me so long to get on the boot wagon, but I only got my first pair of brown boots a year ago, and I love them. Honestly, I would say these are my only 'essential' pair. I think they go with more things than my black boots, though I still wear those.
I also love love love my ankle boots. I had a pair of black wedge booties that I wore occasionally, but just got a pair of tan boots that are more casual and have already worn them a ton and they are 1000% coming to Aus with me.
I like the 'tougher' style boots that people wear, but that's just not for me. I think that's whats important - realising something is not your style, and not forcing it because it's trendy or looks good on everyone else.
As for other shoes, I won't go into runners and all that. I will say that I have never been a converse girl, they make my feet look even longer, and sperrys were just plain weird on me. Of course I would love a pair of rain boots, maybe one day.
Bags.
Well, how can I talk about essentials for bags? That's just silly. They are all essential. Right? No, but for reals. I think 1 crossbody, 1 smaller / everyday purse and 1 large you-look-like-a-bag-lady-tote. One each.. for every day of the week.

Accessories.
Ahhh accessories. Scarves, belts.. sunglasses! Honestly, this too is hard to write an essentials for - I love all of them. But honestly, I could do with 1 pair of oversized black sunglasses, 2-3 scarves, 2-3 belts.
Scarves, I think pops of colours or patterns are where its at. I love my mustard, red, leopard and floral scarves. They add so much to an outfit, love them. I don't like thin scarves, they have to be functional for me as well.
Belts - must haves would be 1 black and 1 tan. Then for funsies, all the colours and patterns - mustard, red, pink, leopard - again, they can change an outfit and bring it all together.

So, what other accessories am I missing that are essential to you? Do share - I know I am lacking in the accessories department, and I don't need much encouragement to buy new things!
Absolutely loving all of these! Shoes and accessories are my absolute favorite. I can't believe your mom has 57 pairs of boots! That's crazy! I'm beyond jealous though!

ReplyDeleteYes to all of the above. I've never been a fashionista but I've been getting more on the accessory bandwagon lately. Currently I'm obsessed with rings and watches :) Also can I just say you are freakin beautiful!! Girl crush status has been achieved lol
ReplyDeleteLove this! And it is right on. My problem is the "in your price range" part. There is a pair of sandals I want right now that will have to wait until my birthday in July! All of your pics are pretty!

57 pairs?? Your mom is my boots hero! So many pretty accessories in here...I may need to track down that kitten scarf, I have a couple of friends who would go nuts for it!
ReplyDeleteYour mom has 57 pairs of boots!?!? Um, can I come raid her closet! That is impressive. I think my husband would throw me out if I had that many. But I do loooove my boot so I get it!
ReplyDeleteI am working on building my shoe collection. I used to just wear cheapies that fell apart after a week and made my back hurt. So I'm saving up and trying to invest!
