2. My bestie and I booked a trip to go see her bestie in
Boston (well, just outside of Boston, details details) and I am so freaking
excited. I get to cross a few 30 before 30 things off the list! Yay, lists! Correction: We are going to NH and will be visiting Boston for at least a day or two. At home, you say you're from Sydney even if you live an hour away from the city, so I am blaming it on that. I'm still excited!
3. I have decided to start meal planning thanks to Katie Elizabeth. I
am determined! I just struggle with ideas on what to cook – I am not the worlds
best cook, and hubby and I have wildly different tastes. So, any suggestions?
What are your go to easy meals? I am not worried about them being GF or not – I
can easily adapt them (unless it’s like, a pasta sandwich and if so, just-no).
4. Derby Derby Derby! The girl we are going to visit is
coming to visit us for Derby! I am so excited – Derby is easily one of my
favourite things about living in KY. It’s a long, but fabulous day! Plus, she
and her boyfriend will be our first guests, so I am super freaking out
excited about that. I have never had guests before!
I half tried this recipe and I like the way it turned out. I added mushrooms, I didn't have any cherry tomatoes though I think they would be amazeballs in it, but I love tomatoes. I also didn't have any tomato paste, and I used more pasta sauce. I really love tomatoes. I also didn't have any mozzarella ... seriously, what did I have? I did have parmesan and other cheese, so I did a mash up of those. Regardless - if you like tomatoes, quinoa and cheese, you need to try this. I had it 3 days in a row. Next time I want to try it with the actual ingredients :)
Favourite Song
I don't really listen to the radio, so I am a little slow on the uptake with new songs. Currently obsessively listening to Roar by Katy Perry and the final performance from pitch perfect. You have to see that movie, and then listen to this song on repeat like meeeeee.
i sing just as loud as i dance to this song
Favourite Blog
Well, I'm gonna go ahead and say Meet @ The Barre this week - not because I'm linking up with her and I want her to like me but because she is seriously hilarious. She has instantly become a check-everyday-blog, and it normally takes a few weeks for a blog to get to that level for me, so... yeah. All the funnies, all the time.

Favourite Outfit
I am half cheating and showing 3 today. Now, I know we are supposedly going into warmer weather, but I am planning for 'winter' in Australia, and I am loving all of these outfits with olive skinnies. How did I ever get dressed before Audrey?
I have been super lazy lately (lately is used loosely) but want to get back in the game, and I am totally going to do this workout. Almost completely because I am obsessed with Carrie Underwood and her legs.
Favourite Funnies
I love LOVE Kate Middleton, but this is hilarious.
Haha, the champagne glass one with Kate is awesome! I am definitely in need of that leg workout because her legs are so awesome and I love her <3! Good luck tomorrow! Our go to recipes are Chicken Fajitas w/ colorful bell peppers and onions or Tacos! Seriously we have that at least once a month.
Ah, I took my husband to Boston to celebrate his 30th and it was amazing!! The best meal I've ever had in my entire life was at Kingfish Hall. It's now sadly closed and it breaks my heart because I've dreamed of going back for that Lobster Broil for years :(
That Kate Middleton meme is pretty perfect! My life is so much easier when I meal plan but I rarely do it and I have no excuses! Good luck on your half-marathon tomorrow!
That Kate Middleton picture is hilarious! Hopefully if she saw it she could laugh along with it! And I love the Archer one too. I love Archer. If he was a real person I'd hit it. No shame. Stopping by from Amanda's linkup!
I am dying over here!!! Drop the mic *boom* you just killed that post! Thank you so much for the blog shout out! I swear I have such pent up humor and stories because clearly Mark doesn't think I'm funny.....he mostly just stares at me like the crazy woman that I am! Those funnies....I mean Kate should have champagne in the hand at all times.....just like me.....though it would be hard to type and drink but I think I'd manage. Thanks for linking up!!! xoxoxo
You're coming to Boston!!!! That's so exciting - I will gladly share some must see and do stuff with you if you'd like!! Creamy Caprese Quinoa Bake - enough said - sign me up! Hope you have a great weekend and good luck in the half marathon!
Good luck on your marathon! More power to you! I don't think I will ever be in one haha.
Meal planning is life changing. I have been doing for almost a year now and have never looked back! When I get stuck on what to make...or get in a rut with the same stuff over and over I just opened Pinterest while making my grocery list. Check out my recipe tab http://www.lifebynadinelynn.com/?page_id=26 I have a lot of good ones on there...my favorite is the Kung Pao Chicken with Stir Fry Veggies!
Can I have Carrie's legs without all the squats? Please and thanks.
Hey Kristen! 1. Good luck on your half marathon tomorrow! That is amazing! I would love to try to run but I am totally clumsy and I would fall and break something five minutes in. I dont think me + running = a good idea. I'm going to work on walking for the time being. 2. I love Boston! I was just in Hopkinton last weekend! So fun! Enjoy! 3. Meal planning. One of my go-to cheat meals is to throw a jar of Trader Joes Marinara and a bag of their frozen turkey meatballs in my crockpot. Then I make a bag of their brown rice/quinoa pasta. Ta Da! Dinner. I also make turkey chili or a whole chicken in my slow cooker. Have a great weekend!
I love all your favorites!! I just watched Pitch Perfect for the first time this past week (gasp) and I loved it. The song you posted was one of my favorites! Have a great weekend!
I don't know where to start! This is packed full of goodness! I loved the champagne image, the keep calm and mustache point, and the olive pants fashion! And I have seen the Carrie Underwood workout before-- who doesn't die over her legs?
Good luck with your half, i'm sure you will do better than you think. Race day always brings some extra adrenaline/endorphins! I've always wanted to go to DERBY!
Hi Kristen - I'm visiting for the first time and I love this post! I am really bad at coming up with recipes too. My poor husband thinks we eat the same thing all the time. lol. And Pitch Perfect has been on HBO and I've watched it twice this week. It's ridiculous, but I can't resist. Love that last performance! Cracking up over that Kate Middleton pic. :) Good luck on your marathon and have a great weekend!
Good luck on your half marathon! Good for you for doing it! And I struggle with meal planning too. I've always said if someone would just tell me what to cook, I wouldn't mind cooking.
